Quite a low level recipe, so if you HQ a lot, it might be handy to turn a slight profit. I'm keeping some with me for levelling now. Useful as a BLM after a tough battle and chaining (I hope).
At lvl 70 cooking my hq rate is about 33% on an average day

The duration and effect of several foods have been adjusted.
Effects
Limits have been introduced to certain statuses that are affected by consuming meals and drinks. Those statuses are as follows:
attack/ranged attack/defense/accuracy/ranged accuracy/HP/MP
These limits vary with the type of food, as well as the consumer's job and level. We suggest trying many different combinations to see which foods are most effective in different situations.
Effect Types
The effects of most of the foods in FINAL FANTASY XI have been adjusted and categorized by type.
Please note that this categorization will not affect the listing of foods on auction.
Snack foods
Mainly raise amount of HP and MP healed when resting.
The effect duration of snack foods has been reduced to three minutes; however, synthesis production quantities, as well as maximum stack quantities, have been increased.
Example: Garlic cracker
Duration of Effect
The duration of most food effects have been adjusted based on the dish's new categorization.
3 minutes:

5 minutes:
High-quality snack foods, raw meat, fish, fruit, and vegetables
30 minutes:
Stackable (12) dishes
1 hour:
Stackable (12) high-quality dishes
3 hours:
Unstackable dishes (not including drinks)
4 hours:
Unstackable high-quality dishes

SE changed the nature of this food in the 12/8 update. It now stacks to 99, and lasts for 5 minutes.
Very true, the effects have changed also. I had 4 stacks of hob gob chocolate before update. Tried them after updated and saw no mp regen increase or lowering of chr. Anyone know what good this is now?
I do know that Goblin Chocolate still give u +2 MP while healing after the 12/08/04 update.

I have doubts.... +2MP, -5CHR for all that stuff? Well, I'll make some once I get high enough cooking (9 right now) and post again, unless someone else takes up the job :)

This is +2MP per tick while healing.
