I can. I tried synthing with bird eggs my first stack at level 9+2 cooking (I think I used advanced synth support as well as the cooking gear..). I think I got one HQ. >< Then I tried out lizard eggs. First try HQ'd. And a few more in the stack as well. So yes, they work just as well as bird eggs, if not better, since it's 2 levels lower. Anything to up the chance of HQ.
Go to San D'oria, then to the auction counter. There you can get apple pies+1 and Melon pies+1 for 2k and 3k gil. So if any of you want cheap Int. this is the place to do it. I know so cause I'm a lvl 17BLM and I've read all the horror stories and I put them up there for all of my fellow Mages. Plus I need the money...so if any of you would like to make a donation to me the name is Bigredd, and my home is in Sandy. Any donation would be appreciated.
40k... Lol, wtf.. somebody on Quetz really hates the mages.
I bought my first stack today, but it was not kind to my wallet.
Actually, this only gives +1 INT over Apple Pie +1. And on Quetz, Melon Pie +1 costs 40k, while Apple Pie +1 only costs 12k. Is 28k worth one INT? o.O Not imo.
Actually, I think these have a hidden effect that increase Elemental Magic or the accuracy of your attacks.
For instance, last night while fighting Kirin, out of 4 or 5 magic bursts, 1 was resisted for aroun 145 damage. The rest were 1080-1097 damage. And for only half of them, I used Elemental Seal. Also, it was between the days Dark, Fire, and Earth and there was no wind weather up. (And on the times I missed the magic burst without elemental seal, I hit for 445~ damage.) Note: I used my zenith mitts over BLM AF gloves and used my demon helm over elite beret on some of them magic bursts.
If you've ever fought Kirin, you would know that it resists magic greatly, even on magic bursts. So I believe melon pie +1s are really good food for BLMs. Hehe, I was calling it "miracle pies" last night. ^^;
I really like these pies better than the pumpkin counterparts. The mp while resting and the big int boost seals to deal for me, now I just wish I could afford them!
Watched the history on Carbuncle steadily climb from 13k to 20k per stack. Over 10 days a single person selling these raised the price by 7k. You can see it plain as day if you look at the seller. 14k 15k 16k 17k 19k 20k I guess someone has it out for us mages. Thanks. :/
