I seen on some other forums, if the merchant that sells these at 155G, then you have enough fame to begin ustsusemi quest. I Don't know if thats entirely true though. I just figured I would post this on here if anyone was just wondering.
Yes, the rice balls fall in price when you have more tenshodo fame. Therefore the cheaper they are the more fame you have. Not sure if the price you need is 155g, but I've heard it's around 150ish.

My question is this, why design this food towards a Samurai? They get a special boost with the AF armor, but it seems to me that the dexterity would be more important for a SAM than 31 defense and HP regen. It would make more sense for a warrior's glove to get HP regen and 31 defense when eating this food.
Well, it's only -1 DEX. My Elvaan Samurai is at lvl 41 at the moment and i have 38+22 DEX (60 total ^^), i don't think -1 DEX is to much to cut throats over. besides the regen lasts for half an hour :\ its not like a regen drink that only lasts for 2-3 mins, and it's Defense +31 thats the same Defense as a lvl 40 Royal Squire's Chainmail...
to me, in my opinion its worth it, but hey opinions are like hookers: you can find em anywhere and most of the time they suck...

The entire Samurai AF set sets up a Samurai to be a viable tank. Not the best tank but someone who can do so fairly well. Look at all the stats on the set, why else would the body armor give the chance to add tp when you get hit? Only think I can think of so the rice balls just help that out even more.

Actually the Samurai AF boosts more than one kind of rice ball... so if you don't like the - Dex.. you're free to pick another one ^^
i dont understand why any sam would use these other than farming purposes, i dont see the purpose for these in a party. wouldnt ochiudos kote be better overall.

SAM was originally meant to be a tank. Huge TP gain for SCs to help generate enmity and third eye to dodge attacks every minute.

I just ate a rice ball and compared my stats before and after. I'm not a SAM and I didn't have any special AF gear on. This is the food effect: -1 dex, +1 vit, +1 def
31 defense and HP Regen effective only if wearing Myochin Kote (Samurai AF Gloves).
