no longer dropped by novv and zuug although the rare/ex nerf update promised that one of the two would drop it (Damn SE and their inconsistancies!! get your **** straight)
However, there is a trend across servers on ffxiah.com that it appears SE has increased drop rate of this to 100% now, There is a huge supply constantly in stock and the prices of it are dropping drastically. This is very good, finally we'll see some BLM's in Zenith Mitts +1!!!! hopefully me soon, 0/11 on my own hq =/

Worr the Clawfisted, one of the monk sahagin NMs behind the mythril door, also drops Siren's Hair. A friend and I got the hair to drop twice today.
Sellers are camping Novv too now for sirens hair. SE should just make the hair drop from a forced spawn mob (in multiple areas) and/or make it a trade only item. One that requires a somewhat easy, or hard, to obtain item (droppable and synthable). This would definitely make the price of Cursed mitts go down though. Making those who need it happy.. but not sure about the crafters. And it also decreases the campers, namely those that camp these rare/ex equipment dropping NMs for the hair, immensely.

They are trying to sell currency for 50k per single unit and 5mil per 100 unit. Well I guess Relic weapons will become harder to get if you plan on buying currency and items from these FOOLS.

BUT, I've been working on Goldsmithing lately, and I watched a high lvl GS'er with apron etc on standing next to another high lvl player, (it was pretty obvious that the GS'er was hired)..
This was in the Goldsmith guild in Bastok. I watched the synth fail, and the hair was lost!
Can anyone tell me what in the heck they were trying to make??

These hairs now sell for 2million gil on Lakshmi, RMT has taken over SSG. SE needs to seriously do something about this.

I killed Novv the Whitehearted with a 73 PLD, 67DRK (myself) and a 65 BRD. It was a pretty easy fight, though it did use benediction right after the PLD and I did a Swift Blade + Cross Reaper skill chain. ><
We were trying to get the level 62 BRD coat, but ended up with the siren's hair. It sold for 870k. ^^

this is also dropped by Pahh the Gullcaller in sea serpeant grotto, he's roughly level 60. my brother and i duoed this guy while xping behind mythril door on beastmaster at lvl 52, was rough work but we managed to take him down eventually :D. hair sold for 450k

Siren Hair is an ingredient in Zenith (cursed) gear. It's used in the crafting of the cursed pieces (Crown, Dalmatica, Legs, Shoes) which are then uncursed by a NPC in Sandoria (Abjuration requred).

This is for clothcraft synthing. You need 2 of these and a gold thread to make a Siren's Macrame. That is one of the items needed to give to the NPC Goblin at the enterance of Castle Zvahl in order for him to make a Samurai's Relic Weapon stronger.
