I really would still like to acquire a Subduer. I happen to be working on Upgrading my Relic great sword and currently have Dynamis Blade, and close to Valhalla. If I finally get Ragnarok, then awesome, but until then, I'd really love to have this in its stead.
This has to be the best GS in the game, or at least resonably attainable... (See Ragnorok, and the one you get from Cerberus with the triple attack) 85dmg @ 444 Delay is sick.... and 6% Crit topped with the 3% I've already Merited is insane. Too bad you cant macro Weapons in for WS though, because the +4STR and +2INT is very nice for Ground Strike and Spinning Slash.
How do I know when the latent effect on this has been worked out of it? I THINK I'm done with it, as I seem to be critting and my atk difference between this and Balin's sword is only two when I switch between the weapons, and that makes sense because while Balin's sword has one less damage point, it gives +4 strength.
Aside from "it appears to be gone" is there any way to tell definitely?
Obtain 500 Weapon Skill Points while Subduer is equipped.
Not all 500 points need be obtained in a single session. They may be obtained piecemeal over any period of time the player chooses.
For a solo Weapon Skill or opening any level Skillchain, you get 1 point. For closing a Level 1 Skillchain, you get 2 points. For closing a Level 2 Skillchain, you get 3 points. For closing a Level 3 Skillchain, you get 5 points.

anyone know if the latent effect on this series of weapons can be worked off in dynamis? those are technically above 'easy prey' but no experience garnered.
Some Dynamis shells will kick you for getting points on a weapon like this to unlock. or using a trial weapon... or skilling up a sub weapon. Don't know if you get points are not in dynamis tho.
The trigger to make the LE permanent (instead of just kicking in during WS's) is probably to do 500 "points" worth of WS's with this weapon equipped, a la the HeartSnatcher and other BCNM-only lv72 EXR weaps or the Trial weaps.
Yup works exactly like the Trial weapons except.. you need 500 WS 'points' thats 100 lv 3 Skill chains <.< when that is fufiled the Latent turns into a normal effect, this is the best GSD imo :X beside relic of course >.>;;
There is a constant misconception on what latent effect means. All it means is that an unknown trigger is required to activate the ability. E.g. the lvl 30 Job rings require the correct subjob. The lvl 50 gear is (I am not lvl 50 so I can not confirm this) require yellow health. Then there are other times that seem to have no identifiable trigger. It would be cool to see the trigger added to the item descriptions as they are found so people don't have to spend 1/2 million gil on an item to find they are not in a position to trigger it (e.g. only activates on certain weather, or at a specific time or moon phase... not saying there are any such triggers:).
Anyways, I would believe the previous post about the trigger being 500 kills... Which, if that is the case, I would attack it like the Drk sword and just go to the most populated area and just kill like mad... Or help any low lvl nins in your ls to get bead necklaces:)...
I'm going to take a guess and say that these stats look VERY similar to the new Destoyer H2H weapons.
The current "rumor" regarding the removel of the latent effect is similar to the Trail weapons. The last "update" to this rumor is that the latent effect is "toggled" on and off (Ex: 500 ws point scale value, like the trail weapons, to trigger it, and 500 to take it off again)
After seeing this weapon...I have a feeling we are about to see more weapons in other classes that have the same "latent" effect dmg+ and % crit. We shall see though...
