Just killed the NM for this a couple nights ago. We were a LS party of 6. We had 2 NIN/WAR, 1 THF/NIN (me), 1 WHM/NIN, 1 WAR/NIN, and 1 MNK/NIN. This was retardly easy. I see people saying you need a full alliance etc. etc. etc. but we had a breezy time about it. I went in and pulled it and we immediately destroyed the BLM pet while one of the NINs tanked the bat. Then we proceeded to the bat itself. It never brought anyone to the yellow. It wasn't even a challenge.
Could someone with this dagger check if CORs could use it?

Killed Tres this morning around 5 AM. Dropped the dagger and katana. Guys let me keep the dagger, our ninja got the Katana ^^
We also killed Eba, but nothing dropped.
Killed it with:
war/ninx2, blm/whm, nin/war, rng/nin, drk/nin, thf/nin, whm/blmx2, and blm/nin.

This weapon isn't just for Rangers, as the discription clearly shows. Thinking of this as an upgrade to Ranged attacking Ninjas, Thieves, and Warriors, ect. over the Archer's knife. Since only BST and RNG can use the Hawker's.

its true I went there with a party of 6 one night about 3 rng's a pld a blm and a smn we downed the NM after carby pull no problem 3 rng's had to EES and I think the PLD ate it but just barely meh one death not soo bad. we got the BLM JSE and the dagger luckily I won the lot :D yay me..

The Hawker's + 1 is 8 lvls lower then this one and has AGI +2. So if a RNG wants to spend 4.5mil to get this but with AGI +2 at lvl 30, then Hawker's +1 is they're deal. Otherwise, 4.5 mil at 38 for 2 AGI? no, thanks.

The normal Hawker's give AGI +2. Know your stats Hawker's +1 give AGI +3 CHR +3 Ranged Accuracy +12. Know your stats before you post. {Burn}.

yes this dagger is very nice, and a mirrior immage in stats vs hawkers +1, wait, wait one sec, oh yeah thats right hawkers +1 adds 3 agi, that 3 agi = more ranged acc, think about it, this dagger, will never ever replace a hawkers +1 to someone who has the gil for one, now base hawkers i can see, but no crazy rich JP wil waste their time trying to get their hands on this thing, when they can drop 2 mil (garuda) on a hawkers +1, hell if i had the money for a hawkers +1 id buy that instead, which i do :D, let alone i am gettin closer and closer to synthing them, @ 78 alchemy now, i wont even bother till 100+2, its a 70k loss if you dont HQ making hawkers on my server,
as far as plds using, pls dont in XP pt, energy drain takes 50 mp +- that me as a 74 rdm using the ws less im sure for lower lvl plds, only thing i can see pld usin this for is to skill up archery, thats it, it'd be a joke to see it in use to xp other than rng, or thf/rng, but to mess around w quests and get this, yeah id be happy, but i really have no use for it, so ill pass to the DRG!!! cause they need this !!!

I don't understand why they keep allowing Paladins to use daggers... What the hell would we use them for?!
they could use it for enargt steal 150 skill drains MP.....but that aint realy useful for pld

Ive Seen Drks sub Whm and use shields and daggers to solo with. Since Daggers attack fast there good for soloing much better than a scythe.
Also it has +12 Range Acc, since plds dont have to rely on ws all of the time since they have to rest occaistionally you could switch over to this dagger and shoot for more damage. Iron Musketeer Gear has + RA too which could be sweet for getting hate.

Why do they let SAM use shields? Why do they let them use swords? Beacuse it gives classes the chance to see other ws they do themselfs and still do nice damage. Another thing, the rng acc if your PLD is pulling or has strong hate, surly getting a hit with a arrow can bt bad, more TP =)

scythes are so you can farm easier and dont have to waste mp as often
Why not let your high level PLD skill up dagger for your THF? hmmm.... that would be an idea

This is a good idea... Having a high defense high lvl job using a weapon for another job... you can boost it very quickly. FOR EXAMPLE: when i realized i should lvl my Great Axe skill for my WAR main job, I went outside of jeuno and kept fighting lil' Birds and things. 60 min went by and my skill jumped from 28 >>> 49 or so :D
This work especially well using Defender because you won't do as much damage and take less, which is a good plan because your goal is to keep hitting to bring the skill lvl of the weapon up.
and btw.. I can't see a PLD with a Dagger

Maybe because off the weapon skills daggers have that are MP drain weapon skills. So like if you're soloing and need mp, switch to dagger get 100%+ tp and use one of the MP drain weapon skills.

Also for god fights sams could meditate (or gain tp before fights) and use spirits within at start then switch to GKT, just for that extra dmg ^_~
Alchemy isn't my specialty, but aren't alchemist's who make gil off hawkers knives going to be a bit p-o'd that you can now get a free drop, that is basically equal to the pricy dagger they been pushing for so long? Heh, bet there will be some unhappy threads in the tradeskill forums.

On Shiva, it ain't worth it. Cost of the ingredients vs sales price. Fuggedaboutit! Now if I was Level 100 and had e'erything needed to make about a dozen of these and get one or 2 Hawker's Knives +1, then yeah. Otherwise ain't no chance I'm making one, unless someone in my l/s wants one signed and is willing to fork over the gil for the ingredients.

That's pretty much what SE was trying to acomplish. Reduce the monopoly of certain items, by introducing similar items onto the field of play.

Ranger can use this. Notice RNG in the job list. ^^ But if it weren't there people would be quite mad.
no duel wield though so i think this is the whole SE process of trying to half the prices of things ^^ but still wat lvl is the mob u need to fight, i dont think its 0 ><

Actually, 12 people can take it down. I went there with a group a couple days ago to farm subligars and we damn near downed it. It should be noted tho, it has blood aggro so dont reraise anywhere near it.

Normal PLD-party of six, with WHM and NIN as #7 and #8 ... NIN kept the bat busy while we wailed on the BLM (Piercing > Enpi + Barrage/Meditate > Piercing > Enpi is fun) ~ got both Vampiric Claws and the Chiroptera Dagger.
