I like to farm these off of Maneating Hornets in South Gustaburg with TH1. I can easily get a stack/30mins, and, depending on AH prices, either sell them as is, or turn em into Beeswax.
well jesus those must be old posts'. stacks of chips are like 4k at the AH in windy, on bismark, and stacks of wax was like 12k!!! i wanna go back to the days when a stack of beehive chips was 30k!!!
On midgardsormr chips are up to 30k a stack and wax is 100k. I farm all my gil in Giddeus. Wearing field gear with thf subbed for TH i can make about 200-300k an hour. Just bring a few stacks of sickles with you and run around the southern half of giddeus harvesting and farming beehive chips. Then i just wait for lightsday and HQ about 40% of my synths into beeswax. Red moko grass sells for 120k now too. Plus ive even gotten Hoo Mjoo a few times^^
Amasai as far as this game is run by the players ... That is why the economy is so unstable in the game. But instead of cap the ammount they sell for they should increase the drop rate.
Also though the drop rate in north gusta (on the hill where Stinging Sophie) is aout 70%. And Yes I have killed TONS of maneating hornets to get this stat(sad i know). But on the hill if you only kill 10 you wont get that stat heh you might actually get 100% or if you are unlucky you might get 0% my only suggestion is go there (hope no one is around) train the bees and use an AOE attack or spell kill them all rest up and do it again. in about an hour of doing this I get between 5-8 stacks of the beehive chips, and maybe like 1-3 stacks of honey. By the way this is with a thf that has TH2, I never tried it with any thing else.
Ok someone posted that SE should cap the sales on certain items. I think thats one of the dumbess thing i have ever heard anyone say. Im sorry but this game is pretty much run by the players so we have more freedom to manipulate the economy. Every price is decided by supply and demand. If alot of people are seeling the item trust someone is undercutting the price so their things sell first. Before you pay the highest price try to get it for cheaper.
someone else mentioned why would you turn these into beeswax if the chips sell for more. Well my alchemy is lvl 70 and i high quality at least once per stack. With the beeswax you make the silent oils, wich range from 15-20k a stack.
why would you farm beehive chips to make beeswax? you make so much more just selling hte chips considering you need 3 chips for 1 beeswax. unless u can hq the beeswax, u could make so much more money with the chips. well on my server atleast 1 stack of beehive chips = 10k 1 stack of beeswax = 25k
u need 3 stacks of beehive chips to make 1 stack of beeswax, and if u sold those chips you'd get 30k
plus theres way cheaper stuff to lvl alchemy with, like tsurara and i think it was antidotes
i like to farm these in rolenberry fields dont know why but without TH i got 3 stacks of these in 2hrs and 1 stack of silk and 3 tree cuttings plus its not boring cause ur fightung different things in total that beehive chips - 8k each silk - 24k and tree cutting i think are 6-8k each thats about 60k+ all this is on siren
I relize I may not get a response for this for a while, but on the bees surrounding the mountain in S. Gustaburg, how often do they drop with and without {Trease Hunter}?
I'm not sure if this is true of all servers, but on Asura the price for a stack of beehive chips has jumped RIDICULOUSLY to 8K. This is absolutely insane! Now everyone from level 1 to level 75 is out in North and South Gustaberg claiming bees like they're Lizzy or Hoo! It's ridiculous, and it needs to stop. A lot of players level in that area off of bees. What's next? Flint stones going up to 10K a stack?
The same thing has occurred on the Kujata server, with prices going up to almost 8k.I suggest that SE implement price caps to prevent events like this, and to reduce the pain on your wallet from crafting.
As of the first of April, these have dropped to 7K. Woot! LOL I recently farmed 7 stacks of these and put them up for 4K in hopes of getting the price to drop; a lot of good that did, still sold for 7K lol. Oh well, no one can say I didn't at least TRY to help out beginning Alchemists. ;)
If you want decent profit, go to East/West Sarutabaruta w/ your lvl 15 thief or above (Having Treasure Hunter ability is highly recommended), and start killing any bee and crawler in vicinity. In 2 hours, I bet you'll get at least 2-3 stacks of beehive chips & a stack of silk thread.
Here's what i do at Giddeus, go out with lvl 1 bolts with rng/thf (treasure hunter 1) walk up to a bee pull out ole trusty, shoot it, get beehive chip. I keep collecting beehive chips until the day hits lightsday then i use my 61 alchemy to craft them into HQ beeswax, i turn 600 gil of 100 arrows into like idk 30k?
The best place to farm beehive chips would be Giddeus when you're wanting to get fame for the Utsusemi quest....simply because when you don't want the chips, the bees are freakin' everywhere i swear..i took a little time out of my necklace collecting and farmed 5 stacks of that jive...i have a thief/nin so it was relatively quick with treasure hunter :D
I farm these with my lvl 20 Rdm/Thf I get a stack in about 20 mins on the Vomp Hill In South Gustaberg.Sell for 3k,didnt know what they were for to post them...im gonna start sythning the Silent oils and then sell a stack :)
"and you also can't shoot fire from your hands or return from the dead. What level of realism were you expecting?"
ROFL
you guys, go to east sarabaruta with a thf lvl'ed up to 15 at least, you'll get tons, not to mention silk drops which are much more expensive. or take a 45+ thf there and train like 20 bees, you'll get stacks in 10-20min intervals....
Giant Hornets are the ONLY type of wasp that do NOT drop Beehive Chips, only Insect Wing and Honey... any wasp-type mob with a different name will drop them.
