Hey guys got the Elshimo Marble slab after about 100 or more kills on the northwestern part of the map but i didn't get it there, i got it after all that. I moved to Gemini Falls and got it on the 2nd lizzy. Hopethis helps

I went as RDM63/BLM31 the first time.

haven't gotten mine yet.. but been lvling NPC in kazham lately and its great exp for the NPC.

Just killed 3 of these buggers and got the marble, after surviving a link at level 42 WHM I got it, just thought I'd say that.
It will be different for everybody. Some may get lucky and get it in the first few fights, most will have to kill a lot of lizards before they get a drop. That's why it's called a rare item. More people will have to kill a lot of lizards before they get it compared to the people lucky enough to get it fast. Me, I killed about 200 lizards. 65 drg sub thf and still no marble. The only up side for me is a stack of lizard skin sells for 38k on my server. Happy hunting.....

I just started the quest attacked 1st Ivory lizard i came across,linked a 2nd,got the drop on 1st kill,not as difficult as alot of people made it see,maybe i got lucky!

ok for all of you talking about killing hundreds with no drop, you must not be killing the right mobs. I just tried as a 52RDM/26BLM and I got the marble on the first drop and I had about 5/6 of my HP left (no stoneskin, blink, phalanx...)

whm 50 can easily solo these lizzies. with blm sub it becomes way easier since sleep helps for recasting stoneskin, blink and enfeebles.
edit: just got it from the fifth lizzy i was camping down the hole near kazham zone ( waning gibbous around %80 ) . pure luck? yes, please. ^^b

Well, im a lv 52 thf (main job) and it took me 25+ or - kills to get the marble. yeah the liz arent to hard but my evasion wasnt so high so i could take on about 5 before i had to rest. to me thats alot of down time. hope this helps

notes:
can take on 2 at a time w/o problem average hit is for 32 with def 144. hit % is around 1/6 - 1/8 (eva 156). most seem to travel in pairs.
special attacks: fireball (fire damage aoe), blockhead (200% damage single target), plague breath (poison cone minimal damage), tail blow(150% damage and stun single target), baleful gaze (petrification single target), infrasonics (evasion down, I think aoe), brain crush (single target, hasn't hit, silences I think)
block head, baleful gaze, and tail blow were used against me most often. fireball I saw 3 times, infrasonics twice, brain crush 4 or 5 times and plague breath maybe 4 or 5 times

other notes:
all in all a 50 thief owns these even when facing 2. Utsusemi was nice only for lessening the need to rest but far from a requirement. be careful when wandering around as some goblin smithy's will still rate easy.
3 were engaged and killed while double rain element was in effect.
all were killed between wind and lightning day. moon condition: waning crecent about 36% and waxing gibbous around 76%

I'm out here as BLM47/WHM23, and killing them no prob. Got 3 down so far, but no drop. ;(
Think I could take them down as a 42 white mage with ATK+ food and rings?
Is there a certain area in the jungle where the lizards drop this?

im hunting them right now XD its full moon and no rain yet... im a lvl 50 whm, i can kill them easily though im little worried about links... ill update if i get one lol killed two so far @_@

Must have been lucky tonight. Was bored in the jungle, got the marble drop in about 8 lizards.
LOL... :( I fought and killed these for two days straight. I know I probably killed more than 100-125.....and NO drop. When I saw the scroll at Jeuno AH later after I gave up on the second day for 11K.....I slapped myself.

I have a lvl 50 rdm and im was think about doing this quest and selling the scroll for some loot. Do you think i can easily take these out or should i wait a bit, I haven't been in the jungle in a whiel so i'm not sure if the gobs around will agro or what.

You won't take any aggro and you should be able to kill them no problem.

Sicne most XP PTs are going for mobs 6-8 levels higher than them, a pt of 28-30 should be able to do it. A PT of all 30+ should have no problem at all.
I'll be going there tonight with my RDM40 - with Phalanx, Stoneskin and Blink there shouldn't be any problems as long as I can stay away from the Gobs. No biggie though - I will set HP in Kazham and Warp out if needed.

been farming this mob with several members of the linkshell on Asura for the rare drop - one day i took a 43 whm and we took 4 hours before a drop and we had to teleport out of the jungle twice because of uninvited guests (smithies will still aggro a lvl 45-46 even lvl 47 in rare occuraces)
last night i took a 46 whm for this camping - and pulled a lizzy with him having 50 mp left - then got a uninvited visitor and ended up with a dead whm (who deleveled to 45) and me barely alive (only because of benediction) - and i was forced to switch to sword to kill the second lizard. after that i went back to town to grab meat mithkabobs off my mule and went back out there. this time i was more careful about pulling in regards to whm mp. well soon thereafter while killing another lizzy two more uninvited guests showed up - this time the whm teleported us out of there. we got more buddies to help us out and we were able to deal with linkages a lot better than earlier. we spent 4 hours got zero drop before giving up for the night.
whm that plan on doing this farming - have a teleport spell macroed because you might need it - and get someone to take the damage because lizzies will still hit hard.

Lol, me and my friends (52whm and 47rng) were helping the whm get the tele. It took about 3 hours before we got one drop. My whm friend wanted to get us all a drop, but we thought it would take too long.. So he got off easy. :) I was the "aggro monkey" cuz i was only lvl 43 at the time. Stupid Smithies..
These lizards are EVIL! They keep that marble hidden way too good ><

there is some fame needed to get this quest. I think its windurst fame but not entirely sure.
its sandoria fame...all the monk ppl are from sandoria's cathedral

kazham and windurst fame are linked. It is not Sandoria fame. I received this quest with high windurst fame and 0 Sandoria fame. Now that I can can actually kill these lizards I should finish the quest.

duh...if there's anyone who reads this site that thinks it is or expects it to be perfect then they are just downright stupid.
