I know these hit hard with magic attacks, but what about physical attacks?
so i picked up my whm 18 last night and decided to go to qufim...then i found out i can duo rlly easy...lol i silence and my partner does damage either magic or ranged but will not engage...key is not to engage!!!! very easy
Reading all this post, it looks pretty damn easy. lvl 20 RDM currently (50PLD main) and looking forward to leaving Dunes. Looks like I could lvl to 22 on a good night solo or with a duo. Paralyze, Silence, Blind, Blaze Spikes and poof, dead worm! I use Rolenberry Pie for mp and with WHM sub, may use BLM for more mp, Ihave about 240mp give or take 10.

I fought these solo last night with a 22BLM/11WHM (294MP) with 900tnl. I really wanted to lvl up so i decided to fight it solo. Targeted some tough worms and blasted them with Blizzard and Thunder. Had to use pineapple juice a couple times to regen MP. Did not die once and lvl'd up to 23. Gave me between 160-200 exp. And a bunch of drops.

well IMO the fastest way to get exp off this mob in korroloka tunnel 15-19 is a 6pt the essentials r a rng/war, a healer whm or smn/whm and blm other 3 slots can be anything.
Firstly, rng/war gets hate and maintains hate with vokes and fires from far(away from melee range and aoe TP range) while melee go close as usual mages should be casting close to the melee so if any aoe spells come from the worm the mages should be safe if done right. This is the fastest way be cause its saves the healers MP because the worms castings r alot slower than its melee attacks and TPs (rng should be out of TP worm's range to avoid those annoying acc down and dex down TP's) and the healer is only in charge of only 1 person that should only be taking dmg which is the rng.

Bahh Started in Korroloka Tunnel as lv 15 rng with a party consisting of RNG/NIN,RNG/THF,RNG?NIN,WAR/RNG,SNM/WHM and WHM/BLM needless to say 3hrs later we were lv 21 in Quifim. Rate up for easy xp on worms.
Heres a little secret on taking these down if u lvl 19 or 20 in quifim. Okay get a rng pld and whm. have the whm and the rng stay back as the pld charges it. Now its as easy as hell from here. have the whm cast selince till the worm is silencced. The rng just keeps firing his arrows. And the pld should be a hume or mithra so it has a sufficent amount of mp so it can basiclly just cure itself. Well anyways each fight takes a little over a minute and u get 160-200 exp everytimme...and thats not on chains. Chains can get u into the upper 200's!!!! And another good thing is if u do it right then the pld would be the only one who took dmg that whole fight.

can anyone confirm these drop Gold?
I have killed many of these worms and not once seen gold. Granted that doesn't neccesarily mean they don't but if they do it's like .1% chance.
Heh went to Quifm today for the first time and got aggroed by one of these(it came outta no where),and it used Stone II and it took 120 dmg, being that I am a lvl 20 War thats bad, It then paralyzed me while I was running away. Found myself shouting for help (dislike doing that)...Once I get a party of Strong enough to kill them on my own, I will get revenge...
Im a lvl 24 war and when i was in a party we were hunting worms (to close caps) i thought these were easy around the lake but we had decent amount of downtime from IT worm. Is there a lvl difference around the lake?
etnapwnzs These have to be the EASIEST mobs to get experience from. I have no idea what you're talking about. 150-220 xp each with chain 5's and little to no downtime. I get happy every time I go through Qufim just for these. Especially happy this last time when I went through as RNG. =D Then everything sux from 22-30(the rest of Qufim and Kazham). >=O

lol yeah totally agree with you there, I solo'd these things on my Tarutaru blm from 20-23 (because getting a pt sucked x.x; I kept getting the worst pts in history -.-; and dc's galore.) I was chaining EMs-ITs with very little downtime (mostly do to Yagudo Drinks and Ginger Cookies)
That was actually some of the fastest exp I've ever gotten, and the fastest soloing. I prefected this technique in the Maze. And figured I'd test it out here, worked like a charm. Whooo fun 3 lvls too.

i was lvl 15 with 2 other lvl 15 ppl and we killed one for 200 exp and we were so happy we fought another but we died...oh well

killing these things with my ranger owns...its soo mcuh fun
The levels listed seem to be if your going to solo these? In Korro Tunnel me and a full party were fighting these when we were between the levels of 13 and 15, they didn't cause us too much trouble (did kill our tank once or twice though).

I've been soloing them at level 18BLM in Korraloka Tunnel.
the Land Worms in Korroloka Tunnel do not aggro, only the ones in Quifim do.

when fighting these make sure the mages are far back, these mobs got stonega that can do uber dmg to a lvl 20-22 party in qufim. land worms tend to spawn in areas where giants or powerful undead spawn on the island. these mobs are not worth the exp gained. stay in valkrum or junger til 21-22 then move on to clippers. unlike clippers you can't lure a worm back to camp.
That's why you silence them.
Fight them in the place just outside the tunnel or at the lake. Great xp actually.

how often do they drop gold and mythil ores

Gold and Mythril Ore seem to be very rare drops. I've fought many alone and with groups have yet to see either of those ores drop. But everyone's luck is different. ^_^

i installed my expansion pack, but when i got to the guard, he says, either somethin like "leave this place at once, u are not worty of entering this holy and forbidden place"

Are the listed levels even correct? I've had a few Korroloka land worms show up as "even match" to "tough" when I am level 22. I was under the impression that even match means it is the same level as you.

I believe the "even match" is where the guy is within 1-2 levels +/- of you. but yes they are correct. And watch out, if your gona run run fast cause they DO Bind you ;) followed usually by Stone II or Stonega

You can find these in the Korroloka tunnel as well. If you enter the Zerhun Mines (sp?) from Bastok mines area, there will be a guard standing at a gate. If you're "worthy" enough (not sure what the criteria are, though), he'll let you pass through. Not many people go there. It's my understanding that it is one of the expansion areas.

The criteria is that you installed and registered "Rise of the Zilart." Since it came with NA release and it gave you instructions on setting it up, no one should have a problem getting in. :)
