do you think a lvl 30 war/mnk could take this? i wanna do rng sub for wide scan cause i need bounding boots for nin and they sell for 1.3 mil on bahamat server :( plz help

a) You wouldn't want to "take" it. It needs to die naturally so you can reexamine the ???.
b) It won't aggro a LVL 30 so there's no need to fight it.
Be advised: there are 'guards' outside that will aggro a 30. :P

Just kite the damn thing.
Just did this and he spawns claimed with a red name once you check the bones the first time now, comes towards you slowly (giving you enough time to invis up) with his health slowly dropping. He can't be engaged anymore.
As for what the mobs check as... well they all conned too weak to me on my lvl 50 today.

The new update is gonna keep the old sabertooth from dropping anything, so theres no point in killing it anymore...now ranger quest people should find it takes even less time.

no its not true. i just tried to do it and this mage kept killing it.
I've heard it was recently updated so that the Old Sabertooth no longer can be engaged (Since too many were attacking it without paying attention and interfering with people doing the Ranger quest)? Is this true?

I will prolly be doing this quest in the next few days. Why has noone taken a screenshot of this lovely beast?
Hi i'm about to do the ranger quest and i was wondering, at what level dif do most creatures con TWTBW? Is it different for different creatures? At what level can i sit in the cave and watch this beast die without him tring to take my head off?

this is involved in ranger quest.
More specifically, people on the Ranger quest have to get close enough to him to watch him die OF NATURAL CAUSES without drawing aggro from him or the Sabretooth Tigers that spawn near him (since he will link with them if they aggro).
So don't go killing him for fangs/hides, since he does not drop them, and you'll frustrate whoever is there waiting to collect the key item (which he also does not drop but spawns in a point nearby) to complete the RNG quest. Be nice if someone asks for help with this quest and stop your tiger slaughter for five minutes. :)

He drops items like a normal tiger, that means skins and fangs alike. I've heard from many people that you can actually kill him and then go grab the fang if you don't feel like waiting. Not sure if that works but when a dozen or more 60+ people tell you that you can kill it, something is wrong.

Yes Old tiger can drop Black tiger fang I got 1 yesterday while passing to kill some tiger.
