After talking with Kopuro-Popuro, you can either buy the items in the Auction House or get them yourself. It's more fun when you get it yourself.

Beetle Shells are found on Stag Beetles either in Meriphataud Mountains or Jugner Forest. Hecteyes Eye are found on Hecteyes in Ranguemont Pass.

another easy way to get them is in Ordelle's if you're there for any chest related quest (they drop shells AND chest keys).

I couldn't get this quest, so I did "A Greeting Cardian", I still couldn't get it. I zoned into my Mog House, came back, and he gave me "A Legendary Plan B". Zoned, came back, got "The All-New C-3000"..finally

I have gotten the bettle shells off the beetles in Garliage Citadel. In case anybody is like me and likes to go and fight things to get the quest items you need. ^^

I'm pretty sure you also need to have done "Legendary Plan B" before this quest will be offered.

Not entirely correct. This quest is in the manustery quest series. You need to have completed Can Cardians Cry?, which means you have to complete many quests before this one is offered.

A pre-req of "Can Cardians Cry" doesn't make sense. That is a much tougher quest (5000 gil reward) than C-3000 with its 600 gil reward. I also cannot get this quest and it is really frustrating!

I got this quest before I got Can Cardians Cry? I have level 7 fame in Windy.
fame
# Feb 23 2004 at 8:38 AM Rating: Excellent
Square has built into the game a fame meeter. There are nine levels of fame and each one is a different saying from the Zabirego-Hajigo (F-10 or near there Windhurst Waters locations are screwed up.) sitting at the middle table in the Timbre Timbers Tavern in Winhurst Waters. Hiparujah at I-11 in Kazam can also evaluate Winhurst Fame. Check out the Fame FAQ by Elliot Nelson (violencejack@zebraflood.com) on gamefaqs ffxi website.

I have 34 Windurst Quests, rank 7 fame, rank 3 missions.

I have about 21 quests completed in other areas, for a total of 55 Quests completed. I'm guessing you need 40 Windurst quests to pick this quest up.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 27 2004 at 8:35 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Don't post a link if you don't know what you're talking about. Why do you pretend you do?
RE: oh wow
# Feb 03 2004 at 3:03 AM Rating: Good
He knows exactly what he's talking about. Fame is counted in lvls (1-9), and doesn't necessarily matter how many quests you ahve done... some quests are worth more than others. In other words, 1 person that has done 30 repeatable easy quests, may have teh same fame as somebody thats done 15 unique quests. Unfortunately, I dont' know the link that has this in it, but you should do a little research before ******** at somebody.

Fame comes in about 9-10 levels of it you can tell ur fame level by spealing to certain NPCs

there is a fame guide on Game faqs read it and maybee all this clueless nonsense about "un need to have done 40 quests to get this quest" can stop if u dont know what ur talking about, why do u pretend you do?

Gamefaqs links don't work from outside sites. You have yo actually go to the site and look for the FAQ that he's talking about. The error page explains it pretty clearly.

Fame
# Jan 18 2004 at 5:29 AM Rating: Default

You need a lot of fame for this quest.

Rank has NOTHING to do with fame.

Fame is how many individual quests you have done. This one is around 45-50 individual quests for Windurst (Each repeatabble quest is about 1/5 of an individual)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 21 2004 at 5:44 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Wrong! Rank does effect Fame. It is not an instant level up or anything, but you can get a point or so for doing the missions, thus rank does add to fame. Just think of it as you doing a quest if it is too complicated for you to comprehend.

LMAo, what kinda fool are you?

Rank has nothing to do with Fame.
Stop saying things when you have no clue to what it is your talking about.

You have to go to Jugner Forest and kill yourself.

That is the only way.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 06 2004 at 4:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok, first of all, I went to Jugner Forest (after great difficulty) and killed myself when a tiger aggroed me. I still don't know my fame! >_<

Hey, is it possible for me to do 43 quests at level 20?

Or rather, can I do that amount "solo" or teamed with 1 other friend who is also level 20?

Future thanks if anyone can reply^^

Yes. My hubby and I do a duo. Theif/Redmage and Warrior/Whitemage (subs). We have done tons of quests.

Granted.. we likely are doing them a few levels later than others who wait for full groups.. But on the other hand.. we dont't spend any time looking for groups either. We just decide what we can do and go do it.

In Windhurst at lvl 22 they are talking about us over dinner. That doesn't count the 15 levels of quests for our subjobs we did in San'Doria so far. We have gotten our first gobbie bag, that gives you an idea of our overall fame as well.

Only exceptions are the dragon type quests of course. Then we just hung around town until soemone gave a shout or gave us a tell asking if we needed to do the mission and invited us. Dunno how this method will work for other quests.

We are enjoying the peacefull life of a duo. Instant communication comes in handy :). We can just talk and don't have to type :).
Can't get quest yet.
# Jan 01 2004 at 12:08 PM Rating: Decent
Yes..I think you need to do 40+ quests to get it. I've done about 20 in Windurst. Even though repeatible quests raises your fame as well, I still think you need to have 40+ individual quests complete. Not sure if they all have to be in Windurst however. I'll keep checking back and trying to do this quest after I get a bit more fame.

I am rank 2, does that have something to do with it? I got all these beetle shells! HELP!!
