Did the quest for this SOLO as a 33 BLM. I synthed up two and a half stacks of Prism's and Oils each, made a macro that cast them both on me and had the quest done in less than 45 minutes. Woulda been faster had I not gotten turned about a couple times in the Glacier.

EDIT: Oh, as an FYI, I didn't use all of my powders and such, had over a stack and a half each to re-sell on AH.

EDIT2: Scroll's currently goin for around half a mill on Bahamut; which isn't as bad as some reports. Seems as though since Bahamut is one of the older servers, all the gillsellers and such have been weeded out.

Wow you don't have to accept this like a raise. If the blm just got mad at you he could warp you back to your hp which at higher levels is usually pretty far from where your leveling. lol that would be kind of funny to do in a sucky party right before you left, scatter them around a bit. Too bad its not 37 or lower cause then a rdm could use it with chainspell.

Actually, GMs do take action should the receiver of said Warp II decides to file complaints, and you CAN be suspended for using this spell for such things (Falls under the category of misconduct). So we do have to keep our noses clean or we get in twubble~ <.<

*Btw* Holy ****-nuggets, its 650k on Siren server (Glad I bought it long ago for 20k...*snickers*)

This is actually a pretty rough quest. I had a 66blm with me and it still took 2 hours to do it. We got lost just a bit but we did it not much longer than we could have. You absolutely need to bring someone who can Invis and Sneak, has brains and has a good mana pool. If you run outta mp in the middle of a zone and that person helping you isn't high level ... see ya later. Overall, worth getting and a must have for BLM's.
Questing or Buying

My question is should I just buy this scroll or should I try to quest it without the needed maps and without invisible, but I can bring a low lvl whm to invis us but I want to hear opintions! Please help!

One thing is im always not sure of is wither you should Warp party out if it disbands without asking for some money in return.

Its a tedious job - and 500 gil isn't much individually but devided by 5 it mounts up - Black Mage really isn't cheap.

Or am i obliged to warp them out as my role as Black Mage?

Being a level 53 blm right now, I don't think it's okay to charge the people you were exping with. I mean as a blm, you're given certain spells to help out your party. Think about it, at my level we use Teleport-Altep a lot and sometimes Teleport-Mea, do you want the whm to charge you for it? Yes blm is expensive, take up a craft and pay it off. But if someone outside of the party asks you for a Warp II (D2), then it's alright to charge them, I guess.

How is it tedious? Because you have to cast the spell on 5 people to warp them home after a few hours of EXPing? Give me a break...

And yes, BLM is expensive, but so are most of the jobs in this game post-40. That argument doesn't fly.

Just Warp II your party out. It's part of your job. If you want to charge people, stand in a newbie zone and do it. Never charge your own party.

BLM's shouldn't be charging their own pt members for warp, It's as bad as charging for a raise. Yea you worked hard to get it, but go into an area like Yhoator and charge.

What I'm doing is buying it now, since I'll need it well before I'm high enough in level to actually do the quest. Then, later, I'll do the quest, and turn around and sell that one to break even. Lose money in the short run, but I'll get it back eventually.

Yea pretty much, the quest looks complicating. Might as well get to a higher lvl to cast sneak and invi on youself then sell it.

and if you do warp someone in a pt do you also warp yourself back to your own hp?

No - when Warp II is casted on a party member, it sends that one person to their Home Point. The caster and all other party members are unaffected.
Gil
# Aug 07 2004 at 5:00 PM Rating: Decent
Yeah I know many people in Yhoator Jungle who are leveling one of the starter jobs to 30, and when they hit 30 and get a buffer, they usually would just attepmt to run back to Kazham, and if they died, they'd get there quicker, and have enough exp to still have the level for the Adavanced job quest they are going to do. Now to avoid this, what could easily make you a good amount of gil, is if a BLM with the spell just sat in Yhoator and Warped people back and saved them some exp. Im sure people are more than willing to pay for it.

Real reason I looked at this scroll though, I have a question. Do you have to be partied with the target you're warping? Or could you perchance just randomly warp someonem for fun, cuz my friend is looking forward to this scroll if he can just warp me back to my homepoint in the middle of a battle or sommin =\ I'm scared lol.
RE: Gil
# Aug 08 2004 at 8:42 AM Rating: Decent
u have to be in a party to warp2 someone. its like sneak and invis, its a pt spell only.

Then it would work like the WHM Teleport spells: The BLM would offer Warp II to people in Yhoator for, say, 500 gil. Once they pay, the BLM invites them to his "party", warps them away, then disbands. It's not too complicated.

How often can this spell be found in the AH? Do you see it sometimes or rarely ever? And what city have you seen it at the most? Or should I really go through a lot of time raising my Windy fame for this instead of looking for a place to buy it?

# Jul 21 2004 at 2:40 AM Rating: Decent
well, i did this quest and at jeuno AH it sells for 30,000gil.

personally i feel if you've got the money, buy it. the quest is long and annoying (since i had to keep recasting sneak)

$$$$

Even though this spell is annoying to use every other second, it could make you mad money just shouting in dungeons when you dont have a party or just feel like making money.

#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 24 2004 at 6:22 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) LOL loser site. They limited the mp cost slot to an int or something. I just realized after looking at all the bs spells with 127 mp that should cost more (aka max value).
Escape Spell?
# Jan 09 2004 at 3:36 PM Rating: Default
Do people actually think this spells was meant to get your group out of bad situations? with the high mana cost and the casting time of 15 this spell wont get your group out of any trouble. The escape spell, like was said above, is a much better choice, though it can only be used in dungeons =( . Even with Manafont you could only cast this spell twice! Just fight in a dungeon and if worse comes to worse manafont, than escape, if you arent in a dungeon Warp II the whm so she/he can come back and do rezzes. Course, that just my 2 cp.

Wouldn't warp the whm either, tell them to reraise. This is a high level spell at 40.

At that level your party is well equipped to deal with links and death. Chances are the whole zone is full of raisers too. Try using the mp on sleep/sleep II.

As for uses. This spell has 4.

1) Missions. 40+ alliances will expect you to have it. They will be pissed at the end of the mission if the useless blm can't give them a ride home. Teleport is a long walk. W2 is cooler for those that can't individual warp. Expect to be asked EVERY alliance above lvl 40 for this. I got asked every alliance since lvl 32. "No... It's a lvl 40 spell. No... It's a lvl 40 spell." It happens because of the length of some of those missions. Everyone is dead tired and over time limits and they just wanna be exactly back at their home point to finish the damn quest. Not a 2 zone walk from the nearest city with maybe a 600 gil choco from a crag (aka teleport).

2) XP party. End of the day everyone stays till they log, you're their ride home. You get 10 min more xp for it if they count on you. Feel free to laugh at loser parties that didn't invite a blm, they get to walk unless you feel generous.

3) Warp-tell. Other breaking up parties or ppl giving up searching will send you tell for warp 2. You think raise tell sucks try this. 150mp per cast and you have to disband from your party to use it on them. Disbanding sucks hard in a group that's aiming for rapid xp. I have a general rule with this. I only agree AFTER the person has found and walked right up to me. Not gonna search a place for someone that can come to me while I xp.

4) Money. Ppl spam this like teleport. 500gil is the going price. I don't believe in it myself but hey, many do. If you know a whm in a teleport service without a blm sub job you could help him out. Most people that send me warp tell offer 500 gil if I don't respond immediately (say because I'm in a fight or pissed off about getting the third tell in 2 fights). I don't take money for that stuff anyway, but you could if you wish. This is becoming more common. Give it a month more and every lvl 15 noob will know that any 40 blm he sees can save him a long walk home. The general populous is just figuring this out.

Bring a scroll of warp!
Its not the blm fault everyone isnt prepared for their trip.
And blm's not useless or is used to warp people around.
But this is the reason why i tell d*psh*ts that expect me to babysit them, i do not have warp II.
RE: Escape Spell?

Very informative response above. And it is exactly right. Getting gil for Warp II is the best. I never shout for a Warp II service, but if somebody /tell me asking for Warp II, and they offer up gil, I'm going to take it.

Mages need money more then any other class. We need good gear, because our DEF sucks. And if you are Tarutaru like me, any little bit of DEF helps. But not only that, we need to spend ridiculous amounts of gil to buy spells that we use to benefit other ppl. Why not let them cover some of your expenses?

All jobs post 40 start getting very, very expensive. Haubergeon = 2,000,000 gil (+1 = 3 mil) Scorpion Harness = 4 - 5 mil. Weapons = 100+K depending on job and level. Since some items are pretty much end-game, we can't just sell them back (just as you can't sell scrolls back >.<). I'm not going to charge ya xxxx gil per hit or ws... should I? When I'm running around a mid-level farming zone, and I save someone's butt from aggro, I'm not going to charge 'em. Might send a /laugh to my LS mates about it, but thats about it. D2 is a lifesaver... There's just some places you don't wanna be wandering around in, no matter what your level, after you're through with the place. Usually i bring a warp item, but hey, everyone forgets once in a while. So you look for help. It boild down to this- chrage if you want, but some places its just wrong to do that. Plus... you never know, you might make a new friend. If you really don't want to get tells, do what most other blm/whm/rdm/pld do and go /anon. Just don't /check me or i'll /slap you :-P
Where Can I Get This?
# Dec 11 2003 at 6:03 PM Rating: Decent
Wow...this spell sounds really helpful. I'd like to send my group to their binds if we were ever in a jam during a battle. This is would be considered battle tactics, not running away...<.< >.>. If you think about it more carefully, however...by the time you think your group is out of their leagues...what's the chance of the black mage having 150 mp to spare to send everyone to safety??
My main reason is to ask if anyone knows how to get this spell.

Repeat: This spell is _not_ a good one to use during battle. It costs 150 MP _each_ player that you send to their Home Point, and it takes 15 seconds to cast. If you're in a dungeon zone, Escape is a good spell to use - this one will just **** of the PT members you didn't Warp II out in time.

That said, it is an excellent spell for higher level missions, etc. It's also very helpful if you've been PTing in Valkurm Dunes for instance and you run out of food. You will need to run to town to buy what you want (since NPCs and Bazaars in Selbina never seem to have Melon Pies when you really need them), and instead of running all the way back (or Teleporting to a crag and finishing the run from there) - just pay a high lev BLM to Warp II you back to your Home Point in Selbina (etc.)

It doesn't transport the target to the caster's bind point either, it takes them to their own bind point.

if you wanna use it as a "last resort" kind of spell, then think back to something we got a looong long time ago that's also a last resort... hmm, does Manafont ring a bell? :) hehe. If casting a few more nukes wont save the day, then just do warp. of course, i'd ask everyone at the beginning of the PT b4 doing it..hehe.

Escape is better for last resort.... had to cast that for too often in CN with those lovely doom scorpions being trained around by such lovely, considerate people. BUT escape can't always be used. Thats why whm have teleport spells >:) have your pld throw on invincible and the whm start casting. Hope there aren't too many adds, and start praying everyone makes it to a gate with HP remaining (i once escaped a pt, and somehow a pt member died and made it out... still puzzled about that one)
RE: name change

lol, with the cast time its really impossible to get warp II off on a whole pt as a last resort...you could get maybe 3 people out if your lucky,at which point it probably wouldnt be nessary
LOL
# Dec 25 2003 at 9:09 AM Rating: Default
Good point ^^;

Escape spell is also very useful in 'last resort' scenarios
