Either it's conditional or they changed it a few updates ago.
I always had no problems running past it with invis up.
But last week while I was exping my thf in kuftal some party members died and they claimed to have invis up, so meh. odd stuff.

Definetely weird. Guivre was wreaking havok in Kuftal today. Wasted severeal people, most of which were invisible at the time. Either its a serious case of bad luck, or Guivre has selective true sight.
I always thought he didn't have true sight, and have never gotten aggro from him (I thought because I had invis up) >.>

Woogedi woogedi woogedi. I am a Crazy person soon as i get ninja 6 more lvls im going to sub ninja and fight him solo. Needless to say yes ive already tried soloing him mnk/war i took him down to about 95% he swung 16 times 4 counters 4 evades and 8 hits. I used counterstance and berserk so my defense was a whopping 20something. he was hitting me for 200-250 other then that I shall Repost when I go and try him with sub ninja.
just chased this bugger around kuftal watching him wipe out entire partys was a laugh.. i had invisble and sneak up.. he only aggroe to invis.. no truesight..
does kill pld's level 70 ish in 3-5 hits.. very powerful :O

******* has killed me so many times that I lost count!! I hate this guy with a passion, if anyone wants to make an alliance to kill this punk, /tell me, I would stop pretty much anything I'm doing to avenge my deaths from this nemesis. I'm at the Gilgamesh server
to the string of posts wondering how it aggroed through sneak and invis, it's an HNM, it has True Sight. True Sight > all.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not post incorrect information. He DOES NOT have true sight. If u invs up u can stand infront of him all day. I have done it.
Guivre never used to have True sight. If it does now, it's new. I've stood in front of it several times with tonko up and it did not aggro. Which means either his true sight is conditional, or he has been changed in one of the recent updates.

this stupied dragon wasted me by MPK SEs full of it NMs can still be used for MPK if u say ur gonna make them despawn then do it!!!!!!
SE specifically said that NMs weren't affected by that change. They did exactly what they said.

this dragon is mean, itll patrol the area looking for victims. right now as i speak 4 of my party members have been killed. its a madhouse wehn this thing spawns and no one out there to kill him.

Well, I just saw him for the first time. I'm in FPV cuz of some lag trouble, (drg) suddenly i notice my hp dropped by about 350 points. one of my pt members says Guivre... This being my first time in Kuftal Tunnel, I was unaware of this demon in the deep. well, second his is for 556 (being taru at 855hp total) that was the end for me. Fortunately for my pt, the blm got escape on and I was the only one in my pt whom died, ironically there was no one willing to kill him.
Is it ironic that he went after the dragoon first? I think not. So, like MacArthur... "I Shall Return!"

Was in a pt when this guy pop. High levels everywhere trying to kill it. They all died, Guivre with almost no health left standing there. Our pt leader pulls it(for some reason)got a few hits in (54blm btw). I tried my highest dmg spell to kill it. At 78% casting turns around and one shots me kills the last member next. An other person there stuns it firaga2 and kills it. Came so close.
All I'm reading is how much of a monster he is, yet no one posts any strats on beating him. Sooo I have some general questions.
Does he have any AoE? Like dispelling wind which most wyverns I've fought do have?
Think a 75THF/NIN with capped merits and a WHM to haste can duo it? >_>

He will one hit, maybe if your lucky two hit you! He has a attack that a Directional AOE. Meaning I wouldnt want to be standing if front of this guy when he decides to Drop your tank.
For all you PLD's out there.. Use a Terra Staff. Dont pretend like your really goin to be doing DMG. to any HNM around this Lvl!

Watched a fight today. not sure what lvl robber crabs stop aggro, there was a 75 rdm that got attacked by a robber crab and almost died, not sure if it was aggro. but there was a 6 man pt fighting him today on Kujata server. nin/war mnk/nin thf/nin blm/whm whm/blm and a rdm/blm all 75. Ate through shadows and did triple attack a lot. Also has a move, i forget the name, but it's a powerful paralyzega. it hit the party, and took them three-5 minutes to get rid of the paralyze from all the members, due to constant failures.
It was kinda funny when the thf didn't sata right, and missed and took all the hate. he almost died. Melee damage was doing between 20 and 60 a hit. Only thing that ever did considerable damage was Blizzard IV. I'd say from what i saw, he has about 10-15k hp. but thats a very rough estimate and probably wrong.
I would doubt that a THF/NIN could duo it, but crazier things have been done. like the 1 nin kite, 63 mage/bard hnm ls. makes for an interesting showcase

Strange thing is that when i took a photo of him he turned at me at ONCE! like the second i took it from like behind and stuff.. i think he doesn't like to be taken pictures off or something..

I were here today (actually i am right now writing this post that hopefully noone will really read) and i met Guivre. Well anyways my party was screaming "oh noes there's Guivre" and i think it was the thf who got aggro so i was wth is that , and so i pounded stun on him, and told the others to run off (Playing hero) so after stun i tried to cast Blizzaga II on him, but i think i got as far as 65% Before he suddenly came towards me and hit me for 510 points of damage... Luckily no one in my pt died tho, but i think the gilsellers got pretty mad (No idea why) cuz it started to run after the others, so after 5 mins i've gotten raise and some of the others in my pt also got raised and then suddenly a dude came with like 10 crabs on our party while we we're fighting one, and he warped (biotch) so we all died.... (Fun)
Partying in Kuftal today, a Thief or Ranger fless straight past us yelling "Incoming!" We saw a few lizards after her, and did'nt think much about it. And then 8 robber crabs appeared. And then a Haunt. And finally, freaking Guivre. Two shots for 564 each and I was gone.
Did'nt think it's level was this high though, or that it was a NM. Could have sword that there were normal Wyverns around this area.
Surprised he was'nt able to hit for more, or faster. Was'nt a Double attack or anything, as I was near the zone by time the second attack kicked in. No protect, and I could'nt use Defender.
Seriously people, just accept the freaking death, and dont zone something like this.

Was skilling up in Kuftal with my nin friend, and he runs off to get a crab. Next thing I know, his HP hit 0. I didn't know what was going on, the he said, " Omg, guivre hit me, so I Mijin Gakured. RUUUUN!" So I start to walk to where he was, casting sneak/ invis. All of a sudden, i see Guivre rampaging out of the hallway. I ran back to the big room where Amemet spawns, and did a /shout "Everyone, Guivre is on the loose, get the hell out XD." well, sure enough, no one listens. Guivre comes into the Amemet room, and feasts on the campers. Three people down, and I'm scared as hell. He passed me, and ran off. I warp out, my friend hp's, and we're done with skill ups for the day ;-;
I have seen this ******* many times. First time I saw him, I was a level 25 rdm just running around exploring new places, considering no one had ever told me about the lands beyong Jeuno and Khazam. The only reason I came to this tunnel was I had heard rumors you could get to Rabao through it. I tried the other tunnel first, but got eaten by Bune, so decided to come this way. As I am running through, with no map, and lost as hell, I saw his outline. Earth weather, I beleive, so that was all I saw. I slowly backed away until I thought I was safe. After my previous encounter with Bune, I knew these things found me to be the exact consistency of a twinky. The ground starts shaking and I angle the camera so I can look behind me, as I was like "wtf...oh no...." You know that overwhelming sense of dread you get when you realize that the mob you thought was youre standard farming mob was that one NM that could eat you without chewing? Yeah, kinda like that, so I haul *** in some direction, not remembering my way back, and no map. I didn't get very far before I drop and skid on the ground. "Guivre scores a critical hit! Lucavi takes 588 points of damage. Lucavi is defeated by Guivre." The second time I saw him I was lecel 30 rdm, trying once more to get to the elusive hovel of Rabao, and there was a whole assload of people dead, and what looked to be about 16 or so high levels smacking it, so I made it safely to the Altepa Desert, where I was promptly mauled by several Antica. The last time I saw it, I was in a party destined for Cape Terrigan, and we see someone running by. Then out whm bites the dust, followed by out pld, and out blm. the only reason I escaped death and zoned was that it ate the thf when he stopped to use flee. One day, I will be 75, and I will land the killing blow.

this hit me for 270 when i was lvl 55 w/o protect or defender then when im 62 w/ defender he hit me for 370

After 1000 hrs of lookinf for pt we head to cape Teriggan!! it was a nice setup pt. We sneak and stuff and then after walking like 5 mins one of our pt members died!! we didn't knew wtf happend to him cause he passed away very fast!! then i saw HIM!! i started to run like crazy but just with one hit my sneak wore off and every crab out there started to hitting me!!! i died ; ;!!
After i was death waiting for my whm to raise me i saw many ppl being killed by HIM!! was like a horror movie with no ending!! even 4 ppl 75 died trying to escape from this NM!!! the worst thing is HE didn't stayed in one place!! HE is always moving in a patrol route killing everybody that wants to pass or lvl there!!
I still dreaming with HIM!! was a horrible experience ; ;

So I got a PT and head out to Kuftal tunnel, not knowing who this Dragon was or what he was capable of. We started and did awesome Chains, and no Down time, until a few high lvls died close to us. At first I thought it was a train of crabs until I see this NM. We run and everyone just Invisible and Tonko:Ichi. The Dragon was right infront of me, I didn't move a muscle thinking it was Sneak too. Even thou you get aggro if you're not walking or running. I yelled the only way possible on a chat, I put "SNEAK?! YES NO MAYBE?!", everyone tells me no just sight. The next thing I see is this Dragon putting himself into a weird position*attack positon* and hits me for 572. I started running...I don't know what good would that do cause I only have 104 HP left and even a Snipper can kill me now. So I die...and he goes not aggroing no one else... I stand there asking my self WTF.... and see him going to where he usually runs..I ask my PT and they say they don't know what happen. Well he also got our SAM. T.T Many people, didn't know he was around until it was too late, and died infront of us. It was Entertaining for a while, but I feel bad for everyone how lots alot of Expirience just because they had to HP or they got r1 from our WHM. So my question is that "If this mosnter aggro on sight, why did it aggro me while Invisible?",Please keep in mind that I was right infront of him.
I think he smells fear. I got owned by him a few times with sneak/invis on and thought it was true sight as well. then one day he came trotting along and walks up to me literally looks me in the face (btw neither sneak nor Invis were on and level was only 59 at the time) does a charge like most mobs do during there routine (which I thought was my death) and walks right past me, Stops turns around and walk past me again, sees someone and has a snack then moves on. I did not cast or use items and thought perhaps if he aggroed magic i would pull his attention. After he left I tractored in his kill raised, and snuck my way throught the rest of the tunnel without seeing him again. So IMO he smells your fear. Perhaps those who do not hide run sneak cast invis ect are not appealing to him. Who knows /shrug

Met this son of a ***** today. He slaughtered our 52-54 PT, we didn't see him coming...until PLD died in a one-hit-wonder incident. After that, I ran and ran, training mobs, said, what the hell? Turned back after him and died with honor :P
i just died to him in a skill up party that guy killed me with a 584 critcal

BeastMPK (all bst ls of garuda server)took down guivre as 8 bsts 1 56+whm 68 thf. Was so much fun only got dragon skin so we all loted (didnt get ;;) yet i woke up the next day and he owned me <.< he must be 12 hours pop cuz thats when i loged in about 12 hours after
