well since everyone argueing about lvling in tunnel. you can actually lvl all the way up to max lvl 47. then later on come back to finish lvl after 50 on gobs

When the rock is down, it gives you access to the "basement" of Kuftal Tunnel. This is where very high levels can level off of things like Greater Cockatrice and such. Usually reserved to parties of 70+.
From what I was told, the rock is basically on a timer, and descends ever 10-15 minutes or so. Like a flame spout, but you can't trade anything to move it.
15min timer for it to go down. You only need sneak outside for the worms and crabs. When the rock goes down you need invis too. Behind the rock are cockatrice and ladons (dragons). Cockatrice are great xp. Ladons have dispelga and are a real pain to level on. Avoid them if you can. Maybe 2 parties max can level back there safely.

FYI, IGE has ads on pretty much every forum/website dealing with MMORPG's... I don't get Pop-up Ads from Alla, but i've heard there's some IGE ones here too...
What's the ??? spot that randomly spawns all over the place every 3 seconds or so?
I was with a PT hunting Raptors in the room where Phantom Worm spawns (and close to Yowie too), when that ??? spot started popping all over the place. I caught it and checked it twice, but nothing happened...
That is indeed the ??? to spawn the Phantom Worm. Trade it a Darksteel Ore (make a macro so you can do it before it moves) and it will pop out by the spot the ??? was when you did it.
Strangely enough , this is the KUFTAL TUNNEL page, not gustav. They are very different, seems like half the posts here are about gustav.
Gustav Tunnel has two lvling locations for those unawares, a low lvl one, just by entrance and a high lvl one towards the rear. I have been lvling from 55 or 56 in gustav to 59 max on higher lvl goblins and crabs. <- in response to the gustav comments.
Kuftal was usefull for lvling before gustav, early 50s i i remember right, on the crabs. In between Kuftal and Gustav , one would prolly want to hit up boyda tree on spiders and you guessed it, crabs. Crab Fantasy XI
kk I'm tired of SE making this game hard. Gustav Tunel is a good place for Exp from lv40-47. At around 43-44 The exp starts to die... So what do you do? Fight Goblin's Leeches. The way to do this is to have a good puller/SMN/BST This way when the monster is pulled you don't get the BST with it. You can chain these monsters for up to 300+ a kill if you are all lv44 The exp slowly dies at lv47 as you get 160+ a kill for the first kill. However there are Goblin's Beetles just around the corner in King Ranps Tomb. The leeches are lv50-55ish btw. The beetles just jump 2 lvs 52-57ish.
You can continue to level in Gustav Tunnel in the 53-59 range in an area that is off to the right or the main tunnel area. As a Whm 55 I was able to get good experience here fighting crabs and gobs. Warning: gob bombs will do over 700 damage on some rare occasions. One hit me for 743 damage. Instant death.
I'm surprised you're worried about getting your key. Most people get keys galore while levelling in Kuftal at level 50+, which is around the time you'd want to get keys. Robber Crabs drop them like crazy if you have a THF in your party.
this cave connects to the cape terrigan and west altepa. If you go farther into cape terrigan it leads to the valley of sorrows (where the famous adamontoise is) and if you farther north west on cape terrigan it will lead to the cloister of gales (garuda summon portal) -rikuseki cerberus
You can go from Gustav Tunnel to the Cape. However, only a very small area can be accessed in the Cape. A cliff prevents you from going deeper into the Cape. The mobs in this small area of the Cape are very high level.
you must just be the wrong level for this place. i'm leveling my level 45 BLM here atm. the EXP is awsome. alot of argo'n monsters though, you just gotta be careful.
No, he's right. This place is a good place to lvl if you're around 45. Just take on the lvl50 mobs. You should always fight mobs about 5-6 leves above you. However, the grandparent is incorrect, this _is_ a level 50 zone. What this means, as with every other description on this site, is that Lvl 50 is aht minimum level of the MOBS in this zone. Any zone has a min character level of 1, if you can make it there. I'm pretty sure you could even go to Dynamis with a lvl1 (although it would be rather stupid and a complete waste of an hourglass). The child is incorrect as well, however. Gustav Tunnel is good from 38-42, no higher. It is absolutely horrible for a lvl45
Um dude....min level for Dynamis is 65..... but you knew that it was all just being sarcastic...this is just to keep ignorant ppl from thinking that they can go sooner.
