64drk/32sam soloed in like 3 minutes..only touchy part was when he used hundred fists..but stunned and weapon bashed him and kept plugging away..never broke yellow. easy fight. 0/1 on the pick.
I never heard of him before. Was walking to Davoi for a quest and saw a name that was way too long for Orcish Sergeant or something so turned around to look again. He just stood there and didn't aggro me so I aggro'd him instead. Then I started to think, "what level is this thing?".
Anyhow, long story short, he was an easy fight as Thf67/Blm20. No buffs, no /nin, 1 dagger, and barely had to use any Bloody Bolts. Just kept pluggin away at him. Took a couple minutes, he barely took any HP off me and looked crazy when he was swinging away with 100 fists but missed me most of the time. --- No Axe --- >.<;;

i was taking pictures of orcs in davoi as my 53rdm and ran into him, i buffed up with stoneskine phlanx icespikes enblizzard protect3 haste and the amazing refresh. i engaged him and got 4 other orcs on me but kept them asleep, the lil bugger to stoneskin out ever few min but bc phlanx i took very lil damage. however mp was goin fast so i convert and cure IV and keep refresh and haste on so convert wouldnt be to far away. kept this up for 20min and killed him and his budddies. this was nothing a taru rdm cudnt handle
Summoned antlion familar, killed adds and took him down. No garde pick.

I was helping my friend with his pld quest, and I saw this, so I decided to take it on as a whm75/blm37 with a lvl 34 rdm helping.
I just put up stoneskin cast paralize, slow and dia, and when it came to the 100 fist, it was paralzied most of the time.
It must have taken about 30mins to kill, due to my lack of meeling skills, but was a walk in the park.
Got my axe, this is going to be nice for my bst.

Well, I was on my way to help a friend get a testimony from Davoi, and saw this thing hanging out. I remembered reading that it was level 55ish, so I buffed up first...this thing is a joke. I used Stoneskin, Blink, and Ice Spikes, and engaged.
I nailed with Thundaga III, which was more to kill the orcs around him than to hurt him. It did, and I proceeded to Blind/Slow him, and my Ice Spikes paralyzed him. He hits fairly hard (had to recast Stoneskin only once), but he is incredibly slow, and with capped evasion he misses A LOT, even against a BLM. He has lots of HP, too, but that doesn't mean anything except a slightly longer fight.
The only time it could have gotten interesting was when he used Hundred Fists, but I unlocked, turned around, and slept him for the duration. He went down easy, and I'm now the proud owner of a new Garde Pick. Which I'll prolly use for...decoration, probably, since none of my jobs can really use it. >_>;

Picked up this guy on ws on my way back from helping with CoP 3-2 this morning on my BST67. I sic'd FunguarFamiliar on him and his friends, fight took a couple of minutes but was nice and easy. Pet and I both had 300tp from the light farming we'd been doing, one Silence Gas and a Rampage later he was down. Got the drop. ^^

Ran into him last night and let me say, he's got a pretty high DEF for something his level.
Normally, I'd hit something that's lvl 50-55 for at least 150 a shot, but I was only hitting this guy for 80-100 each time. And my Spinning Slashes, which normally go for 450-700 without SATA, were only hitting for about 100 dmg...

This thing (Meteormauler, I mean) isn't 50-55, btw. It's still quite dangerous when it unloads on you though
As far as the weapon goes, it may be just as good (if not better) than two Archer's/Hawker's. It's incredibly easy to raise your Ranged Accuracy -- but Ranged Attack is a different thing altogether. I'd recommend this for RNGs, or for WARs using DEF-lowering bolts in a party.

Just ran accross him and didn't know who he was so I jumped off choco and went in full attack. had to two hour but beat without any really serious threat as a BLM58 Hundred Fists definitely made it more interesting though
Just killed it as Rng55 with a Smn56.
Caught it on ws, flew over there. There was a 75nin and 75rdm headed into davoi, beat them by a second. Didn't have time to get shadows up before claim, so we had a rocky start. also, pulled 4 links. started out ok, then he hit hundred fists, and i still had no shadows up. so i took flight and ran around the area for a bit till i wore. i was at 300/850 hp after he stopped. smn was killing links with carby when we finally got the fight under control.
they just stood there staring at me, the nin and rdm, waiting for me to die. no drop though. by the end of the fight i had worked up a little crowd of 5-6 people.
with a warbow +1, sidewinder was doing 370 from immediate melee range. with +17 r.attack from shikaree aketon, necklace and af head.
Definitely a monk type, countered alot of my melee's, and hundred fisted at 75%. gave us no exp, so it is definitely not a lvl 50.

Found him again. Was on my way to go help with links on Fradubio, and i saw it on ws. Soloed it easy this time. attacked, couple of arrows and melees, sidewinder. once it hit two hour, shadowbound it and stepped back. It bit my next barrage and sidewinder and went down. Took a couple links, but i spent an extra sidewinder getting rid of one of those. Got the drop this time, which was nice. Teamed up with a 74nin, 75 mnk and 65rdm for the tree. got the mantle on that one too. Good day on drops.
Still maintain that this is more like a lv 40 something at most. Soloed a dc in misareaux that was harder

yeah i saw this nm standing around so i claimed it, killed him with ease as a 59 pld/nin and the nin sub was gimped at 25! was on my way to attempt war af weapon quest solo! didnt get drop though.

Well, my story begin when I was doing my mission 3-1 for sandy...After getting the report from some npc in davoi; once I zoned there it was standing still minding its own business. Suddenly out of my foolish curiosity I attack it. I was only a 30 ranger at that time thinking that my bloody arrows was going to replenish me with some Hp drain from the monster. however due to the damage it is making to me which range by the way to 50-98 point I got pwnd. So, I hp I change to 60 war and went back to jugner forest still hoping that no one has owned this NM.
When i was there I was glad that no one still owned it. It was standing there again minding it own business walking. Now, it was my time to this cherrish moment, for vengence is in my hands. I attacked him w/ my range and axe at no time I owned him like a ***** and slap him all arround jugner forest. I was again surprise when it 2hr me w/ its hundred fist. O,O Still I manage to wipe his sorry *** on the floor. And got my prize...A lvl 30 axe that I could use for my rng...The end

It was a while back and I never noticed Metromauler on the NM list till now so I'd like to get my story across.
We just got out of Davoi from doing the PLD flag quest as me (30WHM/15BLM), my friend (45SAM/22THF) and an LS friend (About a 60RDM/30BLM). We were walking along and like a good WHM, I was keeping an eye out fo anything that could aggro me. I was turning the camra about and checking stuff to see how long it was when I saw him. I asked my friends if they new about it since id never heard of it and we went back to investiage.
Metromauler was still there and, even though we had no idea how strong it was, my RDM attacked it and my SAM friend joined in. Let me tell you, we owned it. I was curing the SAM (who was tanking) while the RDM enfebled and whatever. Bout halfway through its HP, it kicked Hundred Fists into gear and the SAM was so proud of himself for surviving it.
In the end, since we all helped kill it, we'd lot on the weapon...the RDM won. >_< Ah well. was my first NM fight and it was fun ^_^.

I was walking to davoi to help a linkshell member with mission and I happened to see it. I faught it as PLD42/WAR21 just to try it... Didn't do too bad but it had 3 links around it. I died, but got tele-holla from jeuno and the WHM 42/BLM21 that was my friend came to help me... We killed it in about 7-8 minutes... with a MNK30/SAM15 42 PLD with sword doesn't do much dmg>_< I just used 2 hour when it used hundred fists.. after all of it we didn't get drop but it was fun.. I hit 1hp when it used hundred fists.. right as I invincipled.

Was headed to Davoi and saw it. Haven't heard of him before so I figured I would give him a shot. Killed him fairly easy as 56WAR/28THF. Used Flee when he 2hr'd Hundred Fists and then resumed the fight. Had over 300 hp left when he went down and I got the Axe. Good for Promy and that is about it.
I took this guy down on my way back from the Paladin quest. Took me about 5min as a 67Rdm/Blm. My stratigy was mostly just putting up Phalanx,(Incidently, his underlings were doing 0 damage to me with that up.) and Stoneskin and smacking him around with Water III and Waterga to get rid of the minor orcs. His Hundred Fists just barely ate through my Stoneskin, but he was at less than 1/4 life so I finished him pretty quickly once it was back up.

I camp this guy occasionally in hope of getting this axe, which isnt that great but it would be nice to have for bragging rights mainly. It seems to pop anywhere from the davoi zone down the the very bottom of G-10. It isnt that hard to solo depending on the job, i have only soloed it once as a lv 60 war/nin. It was a close fight i used a fiskabob, 2 hour, my npc and i started the fight with 300% tp. He poped along with 2 other orcs so utsusemi was useless to cast. He got me down to 247/1221 and killed my npc no drop sadly now im 0/3. So take my advice, if ur a melee without mp be 60+ id say most jobs could take it at 55+ but us warriors arent the best soloers (some jobs could take it a 50 like bst,rdm or smn with carby mitts). In other notes it is definatly a 21-24 hour pop my 1st camp took me 16 hours, also he does use hundred fist which isnt too scarey but can turn fatal. Well thats my info btw i will post the TOD for ramuh server when i get the drop.

I just fought this guy omw back from the dunes helping someone on whm af got off bird started fighting him (60war/nin) fight lasted a few min and started hittin for 10-20dmg once he 2hrd tho hits went from that to 40-70 got me down to bout 150/1200 didnt get drop didnt know what it dropped until i looked here and now that i think of it its usless to fight it

Well, from my experience with this guy, like most said he seems to have a lot of HP given his apparent lvl, but he also tends to hit somewhat harder as well. Though this seems to also be offset by his acc which seems to be very low as I tended to get missed more than hit...73 Thf BTW.
And his Hundred Fists does seem to last longer than normal as well, I've never really timed him before, maybe next time I will if I ever fight him again.
My most recent encounter with him, he seems to have 2 Orcs following him around.
I'd say he'd be soloable at around 50ish possible, barring any serious links as even around 50 those links would be a threat in greater numbers.
Given the drop though, I'd say only go after it if you want the drop, otherwise, just let him roam. Not like you can sell the drop.
And his Hundred Fists does seem to last longer than normal as well, I've never really timed him before, maybe next time I will if I ever fight him again.

I killed him as 53 RDM, and without links, it was a walk in the park!!! Lots of hp, but he isnt more than 45 MAX...

Was a pretty fun fight as 51THF/25MNK, roaming the area and surprisingly saw him so hopped off choco and poked him. He didn't aggro so I went ahead and sneak attacked him only taking out a sliver of health. Threw up focus at the beginning of the fight, at about 50% he used Hundred Fists which had me kinda worried so I put dodge up and it was like a 2nd perfect dodge. ^^ Took 3 raging fists and normal pounding to bring him down, linked a fighter but was not a problem, dropped the pick, which isn't as good as I originally hoped.

hey guys,
I was going into davoi and for some reason I ran the target over two orcs, the second one being meteormauler. I figured because I can take everything in Jugner to school, he couldn't be that much harder. So I ditched the chocobo and started beating on him.
There is no way, NONE, that this guy is in the 50's, or anywhere near it for that matter. As a 59 Thief/nin I was hitting him for anywhere between 14-40 regular, getting crits in the 50-70s. He was missing me so much I was actually casually chatting with the LS. Tried steal and failed, though I didn't switch to my AF+rabbit charm, but I think he would just have a beastcoin(I only say that because I stole from the Orcishwarlord in Moncav and that's all I got). Maybe silver. Also, Mug took 9gil from his very shallow pockets.
About a 1/3rd through his HP he popped off hundred fists, and proceded to set the record for misses. But the orcs around the area started joining in, at one point there were seven, including him, on me. I have a pic, but you can only see 4 plus him. I threw up Utsusemi and they were wearing my HP down pretty fast so I reluctantly used Perfect Dodge and continued with my assult.
When he died, I used flee and zoned into Davoi. They had whitled my HP down to less than 200. I honestly will say without the links, I wouldn't have lost 200HP fighting him, nor the use of my 2hour. I had harder fights in Castle Oz killing placeholders for certain NM's. Again there is no way he is in the 50's. I should have ran him further out from the orcs and had a fair fight.
I did get the drop however, and it is worthless. I actually want to throw it out, but I may just toss it in storage and let it sit there for a few months.
I'm writing this right after the kill so I'll post a reply and attempt to put links to the pics of the fight later on tonight.
Unless he has some other drop, this guy is worthless. But as one of the few to have killed him without camping him, as I was simply passing through, it was a fun fight. I may go kick the other orcs in the stomach for linking on me though.
