It is speculated that a Mithra adventurer travelled to Beadeaux and presented this Scimitar to the Quadavs.
If Final Fantasy XI was an offline game with the same storyline (up until Chains of Promathia), it would've been one of the greatest RPGs ever made.

Last time i checked the price of this sword it was 200k. Kujata server. I just buy them. I hate NM camping >< I duel wielded these babys as WAR/NIN in ballista for awhile, (30cap) It was nice =) /grins Alot of mages died in those days =)

So this guy respawns every hour are every 12 minutes if you fight all the Brass Quadav in the Area?

I think he's a lottery spawn. I've made 2 (2-3 hour) trips out there killing all the quads in the area and no pop. He was not camped whatsoever either. I would have stayed longer, but something came up both times. Only reason I camped him is because these go for 100k on AH on Siren, and I want two of them to dual wield soon on my THF which is at 27 atm and they are rarely on the AH.
I have to say, not too bad camping him because you get a lot of quad helms off the Old Quads in the area that makes you decent money while you wait for spawn. Got a lot of shell bugs too, but have no idea what they are worth.
EDIT: Now up to 150k on Siren. I eventually just bought one and used a dagger in my sub to keep it skilled. This sword is friggin great for a THF pre-Viper bite. The only thing annoying was explaing to party members why I'm using sword. They couldn't seem to grasp that SA->Dagger WS sucks until Viper Bite and SA-> Fast Blade is pretty darn nice.^^

SA Fast Blade might be nice but SA Shadowstitch is much better. You can get into the 200's. Never use a sword in your main as THF.

These were 80k on Kujata when I checked last week. Would be nice to replace my short sword with when I get my THF up higher.

This sword is selling for 90k on Diabolos, it could be worth it. I was using it to lvl my thf/nin and at lvl 29 did an SA Fast blade for 254 damage to an IT mandy. The Pld wasn't to happy though as I kept pulling hate off of him ><

Im debating, this or centurions sword. if you go by price, this is the better buy. But i really like +acc items. I am a Mithra so DEX is very high to start with, and I have all the +Dex gear I can get my paws on. Any suggestions?
if u are a thf/nin or dont have viper bite yet, deffinately get at least one of these, u should go for as much dex as possible in my opinion
If you're a THF under 33, take MNK as sub and fight with HtH, Strike Baghnakhs. Don't forget to skill up your dagger to don't have a lvl 20 dagger skill at lvl 33 ... My advice : As soon as you hit lvl 30, switch to THF/NIN and fight with 2 Mercenary Captain's Kukri.
(btw you get Viper Bite at lvl 33 THF, so at Dagger Skill 100)

I actually like the THF/NIN more than THF/MNK at all levels. I used Small Swords (+4 total Dex) until I could wear Archer's Knives. I had a bit of trouble in later levels hitting, but I started eating Sole Sushi, and that solved my problem. Looking back, there's other sushi that might have been better, but that's what a cook in my LS gave me =P
Anyway, I'm using this sword in my main (For Fast Blade), and Archer's in my off. Once I get VB, I'll switch to Archer's in my main, and this in my off to see how that works out.

70k on Seraph and worth every last gil. Camped it for 1.3 hrs first no pop so I bought it. :(
This thing goes for 60k on Siren.

Can someone please change where it says "Races: Mithra"? I almost had a heartattack til I looked at the actual description (since I'm Hume). I'll be dual wielding these babies til ViperBite;)

Goes for 50k in Windy and Sandy (didn't check Bastok) on my server. 45k in Jeuno though. I just bought one myself. Raising my sword skill right now though so it'll actually be useful to me. :/

The reason he won't give you the recipe is because there is no recipe, he didn't craft it, and he's probably pulling your leg. Most likely he got the drop from the NM, or just told you that he sold 2 for 180k and wasn't telling the truth.

use a program called FRAPS ...
it can take a whole picture of whats on your screen (it will be BMP, you can convert/edit/clip it later)

Since it'd dropped off a quadav, I'd say a quadav made it. I'd also say its called mithran in reference to mithra having high dex and this sword giving +dex. =)
