Ok so I havn't slept all night been camping nue im currently 0/8 on him but once he poped 1h 15 min after last kill. Every site has him listed as 2-4 hr pop this is wrong
Just got my drop. Nothing fancy about the day, i think it was Iceday and Waxing Crescent maybe. Had /thf and 2 of the "lucky" items. Record - 1/3. Wasnt no one there to compete with either. Was pretty excited being that the other PLD that was camping during one of the spawns that I claimed stated he was 0/17...probably not using /thf.
Went 1/1 on Deadly Dodo. Was logging for the night, was a week night and late, and decided to choco over and just see if it was up. Sure enough ran right smack into it, claimed it, killed it and drop.
Not too worried about the Vine. It is a 100% drop and, even on Asura, probably not camped that heavily being the NM is 3+ years old. But we will see. It has a small window so that is ok with it being a 24hr spawn. (unlike Argus with a 18-30hr spawn with a 12hr window... /gag)
Advice on these NMs: sub /thf for TH, grab the lucky items(cant hurt), camp during non-peak hours and just be patient and stay on your toes. I have been on an NM spree hear last few weeks going 1/1 on Leaping Lizzy, 1/1 on Valkrum Emperor, 1/1 on Deadly Dodo and 1/3 on Nue. Puts me in the 64% to 70% successful drop rate range if i did my math right.

Nue seems to have a varied drop rate. My friend is 1/1 (maybe luck?) and I am 0/5. It's not all bad though, as he doesnt take long to spawn and his rarely camped unlike his counterpart in this quest Morbolger....
I'm 1/1 on Morbolger and 1/1 on Dodo but im 0/16 on Nue >.< whats up with the crappy drop rate...

camped this mob for like 15 mins killed a few tigers and he poped killed him with 60drg/30war

Bleh... 1/12 on Dodo, and 0/1 on Nue. I hope I get this drop soon...lol... don't even want to think about Morbolger. O.o

The BCNM50 "Eye of the Tiger" at Horlias Peak is another way to get this fang if you don't feel like camping Nue. The fight is 3 people against 1 tiger and setup I used was NIN/WAR, WAR/NIN, and RDM/WHM. Drops about 50% of the time.

Just wanted to express my grief with this thing, as I feel I've earned the right, lol... As of this post, I've been camping Nue since getting the Dodo Skin and that was about 16 hours ago. Yeah. I've been killing Nue for 16 hours. 0/8. Not one drop. This is the last item I need to complete the quest and get the belt for my MNK43, and it just WILL NOT DROP. I'm thinking the 0-10% Moon Phase is having something to do with it. -_-
It's one of 3 items needed for the quest to obtain the Brown Belt. Other items are a Dodo Feather (from Sauromugue's Deadly Dodo) and a Morbolger Tentacle from Morbolger (Ordelles)

Yes it's a really hard quest. The quest giver is in jeuno I believe, but you have to givbe him nue fang and a couple other items that are only dropped by NMs.
