i really dont think u should be speaking for other jobs. :P You do not need ultimately one piece of armor for the rest of the game. (example) an adaman hauberk may seem like the best stats fitted for WAR, but an osode can provide more for other things that Hauberk cant, WS variables on Steel Cyclone, more enmity from ur provoke. Each peice of gear serves a certain/different purpose.
Here's an explanation so that u may understand better the uses for these equipments. Cuz u missed some of the more important aspects of Osode for some jobs.
DEX has nothign to do with rng acc, DEX is to melee acc and crit hits, as AGI is to rng acc and rng crit hits. Although rng acc isnt the biggest issue, rngs are more concerned about rng att. Sidewinder is STR & AGI based. AF body and AF+1 body may look real nice, but not everyone has Limbus access, and you also will not find a body piece that will help with rng att(+STR), rng acc(+AGI), and holy bolt add effect dmg(+MND) all in one.
samurai have two armor sets, one for melee while gaining TP(DEX,ATT,ACC), and one for ws's(STR). SAM's endgame WS's are 75% STR based, if i were to WS without all the gear i switch in for STR, it would come 300-500 short of when i put in my STR gear in normally. There are two rumors in regards CHR:
1) increases enmity from provoke
2) slows down hate loss over time from provoke.

No matter how much people still want to stress this, CHR still doesn't affect hate or enmity in any way, nor does it affect Provoke or any hate-gathering job ability. Please kill what's left of this rumor. I was under the impression that it was already dead. Other than that, I agree that this helps out every job in some way, especially for Weaponskill modifiers. However, not every job can equip it, so it's not that big of an issue. Every job that CAN equip it, however, can use it well.

just wanted to point out that for MNK's the vit will do nothing for Chakra. Any mnk that knows anything about his job will have the Temple Cyclas on an equip macro for Vitx3 rather than x2. But other than that great post.

true, for chakra this is moot considering temple cyclas doubles your chakra ability, but for asuran fists, this is the best piece of armor ig

I was wondering- How often does Kirin drop this excellent osode, and how high up in the ladder would a MNK be for obtaining it? I don't have a LS for fighting these gods and am currently too low leveled, but just wondering about my chances in the future of ever getting this, lol.

I noticed a 150 pt jump in Sidewinder damage against Kirin. From 350~ to 500. Which is pretty nice. Barrage hit harder and more often too. This thing is incredible for an archery (STR) focused RNG.

I don't think this was for a MNK only, but you are right, they will use it well. Would help a RNG as well

Kirin's Osode, Genbu's Kabuto (head), Seiryu's Kote (hands), Byakko's Haidate (legs), and Suzaku's Sune-ate (feet)
The armor pieces from the first four gods each give +15 to one stat (VIT, AGI, DEX, and MND respectively) along with some other stuff. Genbu also drops a very nice shield that can only be used by mages, and all of the other gods (including Kirin) drop weapons as well.

It's just too bad that when you /thf, you lose the ability to modify your SA dmg and TA dmg with DEX and Vit, respectivly. All ytou get to do is Land your WS (almost w/o fail, unless the mob moves) and Transfer hate.

Umm.. Errant Houppelande has INT+10/MND+10 also, so why would you want an Osode? Also, the MND is pointless for enfeebling since it goes in the slot of our Warlock's Tabard (AF Body.)

Errant Houppelande also has -7 str/dex/vit/agi, Kirin's Osode has +10 to all those too. it also has +30 mp and +14 def. which makes it great for soloing or tanking.
and Errant Houppelande/Crimson Scale Mail/Kirin's Osode (if it were possible to wear) and elemental staves is a much better combination for enfeebling than a wand and af body. adds more mnd (unless you have a Mythic Wand or higher and Numinous Shield) and more int (unless you have Ebony Wand+1 or higher and Astral Aspis) and adds +27 enfeebling (from nq staves) with capped skill at 75 without other +enfeebling equipment. with +32 enfeebling from other equipment (Duelist's Chapeau/Enfeebling Torque/Master Caster's Bracelets/Enfeebling Earring) and capped skill at 75, an hq elemental staff would give +46 enfeebling, for a grand total of 354, not including merits. so whats better, +15 enfeebling and +12 mnd/13 int (if you have a Mistilteinn and both shields mentioned above) or +46 enfeebling and +10 mnd/int?

Well the DEX would be good for their EN- spells. More hits. And STR for melee. I don't know if they still melee at that level, but this would be good if they did.

Adaman hauberk ( maybe even the normal hauberk ) is better then kirin's osode for war. Byako's haidate is good yeah but 2 + 5 dex rings for war ? Go for +5 STR m8. And the earring aren't the best either.. Go for 1 pixie and 1 suppanomie which upgrade dual weild lol.. Genbu's kabuto ? only for tanking purpose but Opticall Hat is much better for war's. Gl heh

I never said this stuff was the best gear for war, simply i would like to get these, if anything merely as trophies.
But i do think certain combinations of the gods gear are incredible and Kirins Osode is merely a base to start from.

I am on carbuncle and if there is anyone there who needs someone to take this gaudy armor off thier hands, I'm their man. Seriously though, I really am interested in purchasing it and since it is such a rare item and can't be placed on auction, it is difficult to find someone selling it in their bazzar. So if you are interested, I am willing to pay a fair price, I recognize how awesome this armor is and will pay accordingly, but I won't go way overboard; some of the figures being thrown around on this board seem fair, some seem like pipe dreams, as in "hook me up w/ whatever it is they are smoking from that pipe, if they think anyone will pay that". So if you are interested best thing to do would be email me, since I am logged on at such irregular times, then we can negotiate and set up a meeting to buy. I have the gil and am very serious about buying this. If I can't get it in a few weeks, I will have to start mounting assaults on Kirin, and as I have no LS and no trusty compatriots, that is always difficult. Our LS is now 5/6 on Osode drops. This is godly armor. Almost all our Rng have this armor.
Would I want this armor, as a rdm, no. First rdm can't use it and even if we could I would rather have the A Abj body.

It's not there and I know it's not there. It can truly only be put in bazaars, not put on the AH. Perhaps this will change in the future, but as of now it can NOT be put through the AH.

I can only imagine if a Red Mage could use this ;_; That would be so cool, RDM can use everything in there except CHR.
