got these tonight my 1st dyn jeuno run....as no pld pieces drop here i asked for drg relic instead so when these dropped a 75 drg loted like 600ish and i lotted 850+ and my drg is 62 but will be 70+soon enough...gladly the drg lotted under me is a good friend so he was jealous but not pissed bout me overlotting on it lol
Did Dynamis Jeuno with ~15 people last night, not many showed up ><
This was the only AF that dropped, no one had DRG levelled high enough to use them so I got them. My DRG is only 55 though so I still have along way to go if I ever take DRG up again.
That's 2 pair of DRG gloves I habe butt can't wear ><
Last night was an amazing Dynamis - Jeuno on the shiva server. We went in around 9 pm est, I did the dynamis run with my former hnm/sky ls and we proceeded to take it down like we normally did. Took until we were near the zone to upper jeuno for any AF to drop. Finally a couple pieces here and there drop. We go through clear everything out kill the mega boss those who need the win get it, surprisingly we didn't get that huge lag when mega boss died but instead we had an insanely fun time farming. First couple of goblins after Drop Whm AF legs. We had two of em drop back-to-back then a rng hat drops. And after a little while more of waiting my Wyrm Finger Gauntlets drop and i see them on the screen i practically die from excitement. There's two drgs in with us me and a friend i cast lot hit 700+ and he hits round 500 so i get em and the whole night i was telling him first pair to drop is mine. Sadly to say only got one pair tonight o well. In total though for AF2 drops we had: War X 1, Mnk X 2, Thf X 1, Whm X 3, Rdm X 1, Drk X 1, Rng X 3, Drg X 1 overall was one of the best dynamis runs i've seen in my 3 months of doing em with 13 pieces of AF droping and we had 61 people attending lol.
hm... lies :) Dragoon AF2 is infact used depending on what kind of dragoon you feel like being at the time. Wyrm Greaves are used for macroing while resting your wyvren. Drachen Greaves i use as a macro for Jump then switch back to barone.
I Personally hate the AF legs. +10% hp sounds good but you have to keep it on and um... they suck <_<; Wyrm Brais are up the the dragoon, Macro them for High Jump/AoE magic or keep Barone(Or Gavial) on for the extra tp.
Af gloves vs Af2 gloves is solo/duo/trio/whatevernonptdrg vs pt drg. My wyvren's acc is just fine, i only use af gloves for solo(+10 parrying). Af2 gloves rock for penta spams and just DoT.
Wyrm mail and Drachen mail. I keep drachen mail in my invantory at all times for resting my wyvren. Wyrm mail +15 parrying, simply, amazing. It is infact godly solo body piece. The Subjob thing, means in fact, you get 1 random job trait from your subjob(IE /war attack bonus or Double attack) and it STAYS when you take off the body so yay :)
Af Helm: 200-300 heal at 50%. Af2 helm: ~300-450 heal at 33%. Macros for a /mage drg. Af2 helm gives +4 str and will make your melee beathes do a bit more dmg. So I donno some like O hat some like Af2 helm in pts.
FYI: I have NO af2 -_- 40+ dynamis raids af2 helm droped taru took it and havent seen him on game in over a month. Af2 pants droped a 73 drg took it and quit a week after. I've talked to many drgs(NA and JP) with full af2, took thier opinons of it, took my opinon of it and mixed it together and came up with this. Hope it was helpful!
Drachen Brais are good for Soloing, Wyrm Brais are good for PTs (-5% Wyv Phs DMG, good for all the AoE end game). So in the end, they are even.
Drachen Fng. Gnt. and Wyrm Fng. Gnt. are decently matched. In the end it's preference. If you are hitting fine, help your wyvern out, if not, use AF2.
Drachen Mail vs Wyrm Mail. Wyrm Mail is undisputed victor here. It gives resist blind, and also gives your Wyvern Double Attack (/WAR), can also give your Wyvern the same Auto-Regen from AF1 body if you sub WHM.
Drachen Armet vs Wyrm Armet. This is actually pretty tough to compare. Drachen Armet allows you to activate HB @50%. Wyrm Armet allows you to activate HB @33% give or take, but also gives you more HP per heal.
There is a rumor about a glitch you can do to swap gear via macros to get the healing effect of Wyrm for the HP trigger of Drachen. But I can't confirm this.
Yeah, actually its not a glitch, what you do is this: /equip Head "Drachen Armet" /ma "HB Trigger Magic(dia/poison)" <t> /wait 3 /equip Head "Wyrm Armet"
this macro configuration makes you put on AF helm, then use dia, then trigger starts a HB, then you swap before the breath actually goes off, and voila! you have 400-550 HB from 50% HP :D
I've heard that the Relic body would only give like Attack Bonus, but never Double Attack to the wyvern >< Can you comfirm that it does, in fact, give Double Attack?
(I'm sick of pop-ups) Yes, it does give double attack. I've gained many a Dragoon opinion on this, because I wanted to know. Its for sure, its just the trait is randomly given...
I agree with him for the overall set but his arguement was flawed for the hands. However the Drachen hands are better because 3 dex and improved wyvern accuracy is much greater than +5 accuracy for yourself. Overall though compared to the relic sets it is somewhat disappointing.
I think it depends what you're using it for. DRG AF is really good for soloing mostly, but as for an XP party DRG, the relic seems pretty good. The only part I currently use full time of my AF, in an xp party, are the gloves.. I think that's what Neo was referring to.
The first Artifact armor is way better and focused more on both you and your Wyvern. This gives your wyvern ok stats but barely improves yourself. My advice is stick with Drachen armor.
people call them AF2 because when equiped as a set, look only slightly different from the regular AF set, are usable by only a single job, and are Rare/ex. In addition, the attributes associated with them, in this case wyvern abilitites, are normally only associated with the AF set. It only makes sense to call them AF2. The end game type weapons that also drop in dynamis are, in all but a few cases, "relic <weapon type>" until upgraded.
AF2 is a term the players coined simply because it's easy to type and identify. This armor is known as Relic Armor if you wish to be technical, and is referred to as AF2 by many players for the reasons stated above.
Look at the information SE gave for the release of that path. No where, anywhere does it say -anything- about AF2, the 'AF2' phrase was coined by FFXI players because they are similar and basically upgraded AF. They are called the Relic set, there's no doubt or argument about it. I've given you the guide, go look yourself if you don't believe me.
They're called AF2, the relics are only referred to the weapons that are dropped by the Dynamis mobs and can be converted into weapons for Dynamis, check Mystery Tour for the details since you need to trade the weapon Plus more items to the goblins for them to make you the dynamis weapons.
The Relic Armours drop from mobs and such within Dynamis, the Relic weapons do as well but to get them to full use you have to upgrade them via a quest, the specifics and all the other jazz concerning that I'm not sure of, just clearing the rumours and myths.
