SummaryGudav wants you to investigate the whereabouts of his crew's foreman. WalkthroughSpeak with Gudav at (H-5) in Port Bastok. He is standing on a platform in the construction area. He tells you that the boss of the construction has been missing. Apparently, the boss disappeared with a dog. Get a dog collar from the Black Wolf in North Gustaberg which spawns at night time, and bring it back to Gudav. For your reward, you will receive the map of the Gusgen Mines.

I can't find this stupid wolf. What "Monster" is he actually, because at this point i'm doubting he's actually a wolf. He's probably something like a crab for all I know..

The Black Wolf is on Vomp Hill in South Gustaberg at J-9 between 21:00pm-4:00am game time hours.He will disappear at exactly 4:00am.You will beable to fight him 4 times because he respawns back every 2 hours game time.I was 3 levels up on vomp hill at J-9.
2 hours game time = 5 mins real time
4 hours game time = 10 mins real time

How tough is the Wolf? What level were you when you defeated him?

the black wolf is level 5-8 and is typically not that dangerous. However, 2 warnings, 1st like all wolves he has the ability to sense hp and will come from quite a distance if he senses serious injuries. 2nd he has an ability called rot gas which wont allow you to heal hp or mp by resting for a good while... which can be deadly even for higher level players. Otherwise he should be an ez kill
I talked with Gudav when I was about lvl 2 and remembered the quest. I wasn't thinking the black wolf I was killing in NG was linked to it. On about the 5th kill of the black wolf he dropped the collar. Not sure if I want to turn it in for just a map of the mines, but I guess I will. The wolf spawns right before you get to the bridge off the road near the mountain if that helps. Also seen a skeleton appear, might be something of intrest.
