Description
Situated to the north of Bastok, this valley is surrounded by steep mountains. Separated into east and west areas by towering cliffs, this rocky region remains desolate due to various mineral run-offs which contaminate the river water. However, the spectacular Drachenfall, located to the north, is considered to be one of the wonders of Vana'diel.
Points of Interest
- The zone is split into two halves, and the western portion can only be accessed from South Gustaberg or Konschtat Highlands without going to the past.
- Starting players can gain experience points in this zone.
- The notorious monster Gambilox Wanderling for the quest As Thick as Thieves - THF AF2 spawns at F-7.
- The zone to Dangruf Wadi is at C-8.
- The zone's outpost is at D-10.

Just a note, The point south of draken falls is a telepoint used to teleport to the top of the cliff by trading a flower. Only available after talking to the lycopodium thing in the past with the wings of the goddess expansion.

A little ways from Drachenfall, south of it (around F-8 i think) theres a blank target. Coming closer, theres a shiny sparkly spot on the ground, and when you check it, it says "There is something shiny on the ground" or something like that.

This is a ruby you must pick up for a npc in bastok markets. He asks for it for a reward. I think it is gil. Anyways you must unequip everything you have on and I mean everything. And then you can pick it up and take it back to the npc.

This has already been asked, but no one ever answered, me and my friend were doing the Crawlers' Nest map quest, and we came across a targetable blank spot at the waterfall right before the cave in which the stone monument was. Anyone have any idea what this is?

can anyone tell me how to get behind the waterfall to get the f-7 clay tablet in

Wadi is located in south Gusta all the way to the west, cant give you exact pos cause cant get to the pc but just keep going west youll hit the zone eventually.

There's an exit in Dangruf Wadi [Connected to South Gustaberg] that will have you down by the waterfall.

Goblin Fishers rarely drop Clothes poles, along with willow rods, and bits of their armor. Clothes poles are worth, like 1,000 gil to shops.
Anyone know where the Zone is for Movalpolos? i cant seem to find it yet...heard it's close to Palborough mines.

I am fine just out of work that really sucks since I cant get online FFXI since I had to close my checking account to find a better one. I know, I would welcome a wooden rope/pulley elevator from the top to the bottom of Drachenfall in the expansion pack lol. Getting from one side to the other is a hassle :/

Is there an easy way to get from one side of N.Gustaberg to the other without having to travel through S.Gustaberg?
go from tele dem to gusgen then into oldton and cast escape. pops u out by th eentrance of oldton in n. g
I don't think there is. I have tried to find another way without success. That's one of the reasons I don't like going to that area.

Just met up with Stinging Sophie - level 11 warrior (no sub yet). Got her to 1/4 health. Hits hard and fast. 2nd level of hill. Spawn time seems to be around and hour or so.

There is a thing you can target near the monument cave. It's at the base of the tree, near the waterall base. It doesn't even say "???", it's just blank. What is it for?

Sophie's in Gustaberg North, Lizzy's in South. Sophie is the only non-quest related NM in North, as Lizzy is the only one in the South.

When we did the canteen quest and the North Gustaburg Tablet, we noticed a ??? on the other side of the river. Any idea what that is/ how to activate it? we didn't want to get a closer look because it meant too much backtracking for something that might not do anything.

The ??? near the river is is for a quest in Bastok. I think the person you need to speak to is in the pub in Port Bastok. He asks you to retrieve some kind of a tear. The catch is, you can only pick it up and carry it if you have no weapons equipped.

nope this was a different thing. I did that quest. This ??? was in a different location. it was down in the rivine.

I think it may be where the Gambilox Wanderling spawns if your on the quest.

I ran into a group of monkies in N Gustaburg. "Papa Monkey, Mama Monkey, Hear-no-evil, Speak-no-evil,and See-no-evil" Can anyone tell me what, or why they are there?

there are only a few in some specific areas. Just like the black wolves; they only appear at night on hills, around the S.Gustaburg exit to N.Gustaburg, and before the Drachenfall bridge in NGustaburg.

I spotted (and had to fight) an enchanted bones or two that spawned on the top of the mountain in South Gustaberg, while doing the Galkan Sausage Quest. Similarly, I ran into a few (also at night) on the paths up the mountains (and on top of the mountain) in the "ten names on the tomb" quest.
