Cactus Stems  

I can confirm that these are a rare drop; during my playing career, my main source of income was from gardening, and I always wanted enough cactus stems to run some tests. I got some from the quest, and a couple from time to time from the cactuars, but was never able to find any correct recipes, nor did I ever find any at any of the AHs. I DID one time get 1 adaman ore when I planted in arcane pot, iirc, but unfortunately I dont have my database anymore to confirm (note how tentative the revered Pikko is in her discussion of stems). And yes, there are no sites that I could find anywhere, in any language, that gave any decent info. I don't think that this is hoarding information; I think it is due to the rarity of the item.

I'm interested in trying to farm cactus stems. Does anyone have any information on which type of Sabotender has the best drop rates? Any ideas on hunting grounds?

What exactly do these cactus stems look like, right before they are about to be harvasted? Do they look like little cactuses? If say, I definitely plan to just dry them and use them as decoration, because I have gil to throw away like that... ^_^;
