# Sep 02 2006 at 5:04 AM Rating: Decent
What lvl cap is the desynth on these? I was told it was the same cap as the item you are desynthing, but i made all my hairpins and i have failed 10 desynths in a row with support.

My bonecraft is only 20 and there is no profit what soever in making bone haipins unless of coarse u make +1's but i get only like 3 +1's per 2 stacks of synths. So unless ur looking to lvl bonecraft dont do this to make gil

To add to your point, the +1 bone hairpins rarely sell anyway.

How do you get to the positions marked here in Inner Horutoto Ruins? i need to get past the Gizmo Gate or something, but i don't think i can because im not from Windhurst so therefore cannot accept the mission for Rank 2 (i think its that one anyway). Can someone please PM me what i should do. Thanks ^^

Another good place to get massive amounts of Bone Chips is to take a THF down to where Crypt Ghost spawns in King Ransperre's Tomb and just kill all the Nackzehrers. That usually gives me a stack of Bone Chips in less then 5 min. And if you are high enough level you might as well kill of Crypt Ghost and Goblin Gruel for some nice selling drops. (On my server, Sylph, Bone Chips sell for 2k/stack in San Doria and Martial Slacks sell for 25k and same for Valor Earrings.) So there is a nice profit to be made. Have probably farmed like 100 stacks of Bone Chips down there my self.
Skeletons
# Sep 02 2004 at 8:51 AM Rating: Excellent
The Inner Horutoto Ruins (I-8) & (H-8) has a few areas where low-level skeltons spawn. The skeletons are around level 10 & they spawn often. A great place to farm bone chips with a THF.

I don't recommend using pickaxes to mine for bone chips as the risk of losing a pickaxe is too costly. Pickaxes cost about 200 gil per unit & 2000 gil or more per stack.

Digging Bone Chips

I recommend excavating the bone chips using the pickaxe in tarongi. You will pull up the bone chips plus chicken bones and other valuable items.

Bone Chips

Auction House>Materials>Bonecraft
1 Bone Chip usually goes for about 100 Gil
A stack of 12 can be bought for about 1000 Gil

A good way to make a little extra money and work on your Bonecraft skill is to buy a whole stack of these for 1000 gil. You can then make Bone Hairpins using 1 Wind Crystal and 1 Bone Chip. You can then turn around and sell the Bone Hairpins to npcs for about 110 gil or more depending on fame. Given that you have 12 Wind Crystals at your disposal (can be obtained from Ding Bats at night in E&W Ronfroue outside San D'oria) that is a profit of 320 gil per stack of Bone Chips. If you decide to do this be sure to not buy bone chips 1 by 1 for that will only yield a profit of 10 gil per chip used total of 120 profit if 12 individually bought chips are used.

You're not doing profit per se. You are paying the value of your crystals for the chance to increase skill. That wind crystal stack is worth 1500 right now on my server, so you have a net loss of 1380 right there.

This is not for people who want extra profit, it's for kickstarting bonecraft to lvl 3, don't do this if you need the cash.

Unless of course you farm the crystals yourself. Not hard to do. Break out a low level job, get signet and kill some flying mobs outside the cities.

Then you get a profit.

(Although really you're better off selling the stacks of crystals that you farm for profit. That way you're looking at around 1500 profit for a stack)

You can't work the math like that. If you farm the crystals yourself you had the opportunity to sell them for 1500 gil so the cost is still $1500, not 0. Here is an example:

Opportunity Cost:

Time Cost: While you were farming your Wind Crystals with your level 1 THF at a rate of 3k/hr you COULD have been farming Silk Thread with your lvl 10 RDM at a rate of 10k/hr.

Capital Cost: You turned 1500 gil in crystal into 1300 gil in product. Actually, you turned 1500 (crystal) + 1000 (bone chip) = 2500 into 1300. If you want to work at Pizza Hut and earn $2,500 (farming) then send that to me in real life, I will gladly send you $1,300 USD. Does not make any sense at all does it?

ya low lvl jobs are the best for cryastals, can usaly get about 3 or 5 stacks on about an hour or, just keep delevel the same player, i did this till I learn to farm elements. hole new ball game at the point, but when all said in done, i had ended up just buying the crystals and or had a mule where i stock pile them as i got them, due to the fact that i can make 25k to 50k in 45min or so mining, pluss helps my smithing alot. word of adive save guilding till you can afford to blow 100k like its nothing to you.

#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 08 2003 at 9:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) [Marquee]You can get them at the auction house for about 180 or you can buy them from the boneweavers giuld. You can also fight skeletons in Sarubaruta or the other places where skeletons spawn.[/Marquee]
Bone Chips Locations

Find the bone chip from any skeletons in north/south gustaberg for low lvl people. At night time they spawn.
Find the bone chip from any skeletons in gusgen mines for higher lvl characters.
bone chips.
# Nov 12 2003 at 9:10 PM Rating: Excellent
best place for bone chips is to go partying in Gusgen mines. Though it is not recommended for low lvls. get a group of probably 16+ lvls and take out the skeletons and ghouls that spawn all day long there. otherwise there are only a few places they spawn at, at certain time of the day. The time of the day undead spawn are 18:00-4:00 game hours. Hope this answered enough for you. or you can just buy em in two places. one.. the Auction House, listed under materials > Bone crafting.
or two, go to the bonecrafting guild in Windhurst Woods, which sells out of bone chips....
Gusgen does get camped though for this reason.
