Hi all, can anyone tell me how I obtain an air pass in Bastok. I am a noob lvl 14 blm. Do I need to get an airpass from an npc by completing missions?
Also, how do find additional maps for other ares such as the Dangruf Wadi and othe surrounding areas. I have bought some maps from npc's but they are not the ones I need in the Gustaberg region.

Description
Trade with other nations of Vana'diel flows through Port Bastok, where a large drawbridge separates houses, shops and the air travel agency from the adventurer residential area. Adventurers willing to visit the various homes here will be asked to perform numerous favors by residents of the Republic. Exiting town from this zone leads to the upper portion of North Gustaberg and, further north, the Palborough Mines.
Points of Interest
- Alib-Mufalib at K-7 will warp you to Aht Urhgan Whitegate after completing Lure of the Wildcat.
- Enter North Gustaberg by leaving the North Gate at L-6.
- Ensetsu starts the quest Ayame and Kaede, which unlocks the Ninja job.
- To exit your mog house from any residential area in Bastok, complete the quest A Lady's Heart from Valah Molkot at J-12.
- Oggbi starts artifact gear quests for the monk and warrior jobs.

The Map of the Bastok area, which includes Port Bastok, can be purchased for 200 gil from Karine and several other NPCs.

you have to get to rank 5 and you get the airship pass
the maps you get from the vendors in port bastok any ones your missing for around bastok you can get from selbina in valkurm dunes

why is this zone listed as connected to sandy and windy ports?
there is no cooking guild in bastok.

i dont have the game yet but will when it comes for the ps2 and i want to now why every one hates bastock soo much? is it the monsters ? is it crouded? or is it easy to get lost i now i hate when that happens.

It is not the monsters. Windurst is defanately the easiest to get lost in, and of the starting cities San d'Oria is the most crowded (at least in my server). People hate it because it is their competition if they are from another country (although most talk of hating another country is just jokes) or were a newbie when they went in Bastok and they got lost and just have bad memories. Bastok is my favorite starting city (Kazham being by far my favorite city).

Not directly unless you are willing to pay 150k Gil. To get the airpass you need to be level 30+ (i am level 30 myself so i dont know what level exactly). You get the airpass through missions. I think you get it for free when you hit rank 5 (the missons get pretty tough so its not exactly free, but costs you no money for the pass itself).
You can take the dangerous walk. To do this you go to:
Bastok > S Gusta > N Gusta > Konschtat Highlands > Valcrum dunes> La Theine Plateau > W Ronfuare > San d'Oria

the one that you get from rank5 is 500k.
the kazam pass is 150k.
small note:
if you switch countrys, you go back to rank 1, but keep AS passes.
if you work your back up to rank 5, you get some extra cash(30k?) instead of the pass.

Someone told me that the linkshells in bastok are sold in this zone, who sells them and for how much?
You can buy the Linkshell in E-7 for about 8000 gil. The person who sells it is a Woman, and she is only open curtin Hours of the game.

It depends on how ur going there if ur using ur airpass it will take 800 gils cuz u go through Jeuno n then to Windurst n bak or if ur walking u want to head to selbina which is in Valkrum dunes n take the ship to Mhuara n then go to windy which costs about 200 for a full way.

That's been changed since you posted this. I don't know why I'm commenting, but it seems that SE is making travel cheaper, while making Chocobo vendors steal your wallet while you're not looking.

I just started. How do I obtain an airship ticket in San d'oria? I have two characters, one in bastok and one in san d'oria. The character in Bastok can purchase air tickets at the air port for 200 gil. When I went to the air port in San d'oria, I could not purchase any. Is there something I am over looking. Both characters are new and not Rank 5's.
