SummaryBring sets of either four northern furs, four pieces of eastern pottery, or four southern mummies for a hefty reward. WalkthroughTalk to Muzaffar to start this quest. He wants either four northern furs, four pieces of eastern pottery or four southern mummies. Northern Furs are dropped from all giants on Qufim Island and Delkfutt's Tower. Turning in four of these will return 1500 gil. Eastern Pottery drop from Clockwork Pods in Fei'Yin or Garlaige Citadel or Magic Pots in Delkfutt's Tower. Turning in four of these returns 2000 gil. Southern Mummy drops from Liches in Western Altepa Desert. Once you have gathered the right amount of one of these items, return to Muzaffar and trade them to him. The quest that gets you in trouble is the Consortum quest in port sandy. Ive gotten my liscens revoked for 24 hours.

Muzzaffar will give 3000 gil for the Southern Mummies.
Please be more helpful. Telling me that a mob is hard at the Too Weak status is nice to know but it does not give us any idea of what your level was when they were conned at TW. When discussing that a particular mob is too hard please give your level and jobs at the time. Otherwise the information is basically useless information. Information posted espcially to the headder document should be factual and useful not just colorful. Sorry to be critical but i hope you take this in the constructive manner that it was given.

Magic Shards won't work the correct items the Npc requests are
Northern Fur (Qufim/Defkut - Giants) - 1500gil
Eastern Pottery (Garlaige/Defkut - Magic Pots) -2000gil
Southern Mummy (WestAltepa - Mummys) - ????gil

Again leave poor lumy to fill in some more details... The rewards for this quest vary depending on the item you give him, since unfortunately i have been unable to collect ANY mummies i do not know where or what drops them.
As for the other items:
1: 4x Northern Furs -> these are dropped from all giants on Qufim Island and Dekfautt's Tower. Turning in four of these will return 1500 gils. Approximately 1 out of every 20 giants i killed dropped these. Not very time efficient.
2: 4x Magic Shards -> As far as i know these are only dropped from the Magic Pots which can be seen on the other end of Dekfautt's Tower, in the places that can only be unlocked with the key (Rank 4). Approximately 1 out of 10 seemed to drop this and not much else... These babies are not pretty even at Too Weak status they had my pants down... Turning in four of these returns 2000 gils.
3: 4x Mummies (No clue sorry)
NOTE: If you desperately want to complete this quest without the delay of hunting the items id suggest going with the pot shards as on my server they cost the same and return more gils, and possibly more fame too :D. The Mummies are hard to find even at the AH.
NOTE: These rewards are nothing in comparison that you can sell these at the AH for 2-3,000 :( but thats always the price of fame.

Eastern Pottery also drops off Magic Pods in Fei-Yin. I believe it was Magic Pods, but it might have been Ore Golems as well. I would imagine they are a pretty common drop here as we got 4 in total and we werent camping them...just killing what agroed and not being to careful about avoiding agro. Also the Magic Pods only agro to magic, the Ore Golems agro on sight, but we were having to practicely tickle them under the chin to get them to look at us. Our PT consisted of all L53 PLD, WHM, and RDM. None of the mobs on the first floor checked any higher than EPs to us and LOW EPs at that. Going to the second floor was a little different story...most of the mobs there checked Ts or better, but we were just there to complete the Teleport Vahzl quest. Which might be note worthy, the coffers here are WAY over camped, at least on my server, as they drop life belts too.
If anyone knows anymore about the rumor of getting 'caught' with these items I would like to know. I walked around with the eastern pottery until I got back to my mog. I'm not certain but I believe I took the airship even with it in my inventory and had no problems, but thats not to say I might not have any later.

One way to possibly work around this is to use silent oils or cast sneak before going in or out of the airship dock. That way you don't get busyed going through customs. I've used it for the "job for the consortium" quest but nothing else.
Yes you get your airship pass revoked for a certain period of time. I wish I could elaborate but it happened to a person in my LS. I believe he had to finalize the quest before using airship again.

i herd word of getting caught with these items can get you in trouble somehow? just rumors?
Ug... well yes the reward is 1500gil and some norg fame, but I wouldn't plan on majorly upping your norg fame level for ninjitsu scrolls by repeating this. Northern Furs are a rare drop from some giants in Qufim and Delkufft's Tower. Will cost you anywhere from 2500-5000gil at AH, depending on supply and your server. I've seen the giants that drop them heavily camped (on Gardua).
This quest may very well rase norg fame much faster in repeats versus trading zincs or yagudo necklaces, but would cost you a whole lot more.
My suggestion is the Tenshodo airship smuggling repeatable quest from Port San'Doria--you actually earn a profit from it (although you do need an airship pass).

I did it with 4 Northern Furs and also got 1500 Gil, so i'm assuming thats the reward for them all. It is repeatable btw and gives you Norg (Tenshodo) Fame.
