Summary

Brygid, the "stylist extraordinaire," has given you more fashion advice, so it's time to go shopping.

Walkthrough

First off: This quest requires that you complete Brygid, the Stylist, where she wants you to show up in a Robe and Bronze Subligar. After you've finished it, zone (hitting the Mog House is fine) and come back while wearing any Artifact armor piece. Your AF weapon will not work. You only need to have one AF armor on your body to trigger this quest.

Brygid will ask that you get a new body armor and leg armor to meet the demands of the fashion world. Do so.

When you come back she offers up a listing of 13 body armors. All are level 50. All are rare/ex. All are JSE, though some have two jobs available (one is BLM/SMN, one is WHM/SMN, one is RDM/BRD, one is WAR/PLD).

When you select an item Brygid then demands one of the new JSE subligaria. These drop off Fomor in Phomiuna Aqueducts as well as in the Sacrarium, both of which are Chains of Promathia areas. To reach Phomiuna Aqueducts you have to finish the Promyvion quests. All JSE subligaria are level 50 and rare/ex, so you personally have to go there to get yours. Once you have obtained it, trade it in to her.

This quest is repeatable.

The second time she asked for different items, both of a slightly higher level and slightly more expensive than before.

Going for third subligar...

I don't know if this info is of value to anyone, but I'll toss it out there anyhow in hopes it might help someone (and as a little reminder to myself what I need to wear the *fourth time ;;>.>)

I went into Phomonia Aqueducts looking mostly for Scorpius subligar, but no one wants to fight RDM or we all die a horrible death to their parties, I still haven't gotten one.

Still, I showed up to Brygid in some RDM AF and she requested Silk Coat and Beak Trousers. I turn those in, I get to choose from a list of the JSE. Similar to what the gate guards do when selecting CP items, if you can't equip it either because of level or class, they will tell you such and ask if you want to continue. Since I had the O subligar from Fomor BST, I chose the Guady Harness.

I zoned out and came back, went to talk with Brygid a second time with my RDM AF on again. Now, she asks for Gambison and Carapace Subligar. I asked for Nokizaru Gi (we had no ninjas in our pt but we cleared out unpartied Fomors, I happened to get a Taurus subligar so I wanted to use it! ...maybe I'll level ninja further one day ...maybe...). Give her the Taurus undies on the spot and got my Gi.

At this point I was running out of room, I toss my RDM AF into storage, change my class and put on my only equippable piece of bard AF: slippers. I go back, talk to Brygid a third time and she asks for Padded Armor and Scorpian Subligar

*edit:

I went back the next night with another group. Not much bigger but we had a person determined to get her BLM subligar. This works out, because we camp the libraries to the SE of the Minotaur, where there is a partied RDM and BLM. First red mage we killed, I got my scorpius subligar. I traded that into Brygid and got my Glamour Joupon.

Once again, there was plenty of extra subligar that people didn't want/didn't need. So I got a WHM/SMN (looking back now I wish I would have also grabbed the BRD/RDM one even though it's crappy) Anyhow, once again... show up to Brygid in my RDM AF again, she asks for Gambison and Velvet Slops.

The redmage fomor along with pretty much all of the other fomor (except summoner, couldn't find him) are in the library. The library is deep in phomiuna aqueducts near the lantern room for PM 2-3.I have seen bard, ninja, red mage, dragoon, ranger, darknight, paladin, warrior, and im pretty sure there were others just dont remember if they were there or not @.@

As a side note, I tried getting a Virgo Subligar today with 3 other friends. We did pretty well, but without TH, we only managed to obtain the Taurus Subligar in about an hour.

This is ridiculous. I'm level 55, and wanted to get my rapparee harness for the +4% haste. So I wear my af hat, and talk to this little *****. She asked for a velvet robe and a scorpion subligar. I'm thinking, ok, I go get those and I'm set. Only one small problem. YOU HAVE TO BE LEVEL 57 TO WEAR A SCORPION SUBLIGAR.

WHAT THE ****!? What the hell is the point of even HAVING my JSE, if by that point I will have to spend the 5.5 million gil to get a scorpion harness? Why the hell would they make it so that you can get the quest at 52, yet you can't beat the goddamn thing until 57!? I'm sorry, but I'm frigin pissed. I've been looking forward to this for so long, and this was the first chance I've had to do this quest, and now I found out I can't? Here's a brillian idea square, make all the equip needed the SAME LEVEL so that you don't inadvertently **** over someone who really wanted this piece of armor.

At this point, I doubt I will ever even get it b/c I'm so pissed at these ridiculous circumstances...

Well then looks like you are able to save money for the SH that would be otherwise spent on the outfit.I beleive the reason they did this, however, is because the harness you want is so powerful. If you use sushi and have other acc gear, it can even be better than a SH? I'm not sure, not a thf. I'm thinking (since there is such a thing as TOO much accuracy) go for an acc and haste set using this (assuming you dont hit for 0's also) and then compare it to your SH.

Also, lets just assume you dont have the money for a SH. well then here you go, its a decent replacement for one untill you get it. Ive had a thf who subbed drg and used this and some other haste/acc setup and that was the best thf I've ever pt'd with. The only person other than a sam who could out tp me, and it looked like he was using hundred fists with a dagger.... except his delay was even less XD

I guess what im really saying is try to be a little more open minded about different possibilities. yes if a SH is no problem for you then it is a waste trying to get this, since by the time you get it you have a peice of armor you prefer over it. you dont HAVE to follow the sheep though, experiment a bit.

Read the post better. He's talking about the the armour that Brygid asks you to *wear* before giving you the list of available JSE. Scorpion Subligar is correct, I was asked to wear this too.

I finally hit 52 with my PLD over the weekend, and hurried to Bastok to see Brigid while wearing my Gallant Leggings. She asked me to wear a Linen Doublet and Cuisses, which I was able to "rent" from the AH for 15K total (and sold back within hours). Gave her my Pisces subligar and got my Parade Cuirass. Hurray!

I also want the Gaudy Harness for my BST. So I talked to her again. This time she wanted to see me in Silver Mail (no problem) and Beak Trousers (big problem, can't wear for 6 levels). So I guess my Ophiuchus Subligar will be sitting in my mogsafe for months. Boo!

Umm, surprise, they do that with a lot of stuff in this game, like AF for instance.

AF1s can be done at level 40, yet some of them require level 41-42 to wear. All the rest of the AF can be done at 50, yet they require level 52-60 to wear.

Also, nobody said you HAVE to buy a scorpion harness.

Which is completely the opposite from a piece of armour that can be worn at L50 yet may require L57 to obtain. So your point is?

He was saying that scorpion subligar is the same level as the harness, which is the better body armor option for gear, so it's pointless for him to wear it at that point.

Got the quest as a L54 RNG (main & highest job), wearing my L54 AF hat "Hunter's Beret". To get my Shikaree Aketon (RNG), I had to model a Raptor Jerkin (L48, about 5k at the AH) and Cuir Trousers (L38, about 4k at the AH), then turn in a Virgo Subligar (RNG). Mithra, tall, 7B.

What is the pre-requisite for this quest? Is it just having completed all three promy's (Mea, Holla, and Dem), or are there quests after the promy's that are required before you can do this quest? I'm hoping to finish my last promy tonight and then start in for this item. Can I start right away or do I have to do a bunch of other quests first?

You may have worked this out already... you need access to Tavnazia which is what you get by finishing the first three Promys. If you have done Bridget's First quest then all you need to do is go talk to her wearing a piece of your AF armour (from 52) and she will give you the quest.
You can then go back to the Tavnazian Safehold and head to the Phom. Aqueducts. It does actually say all this up above

As lv52 Sam (Main); started this quest, was asked to wear lv45 leg piece and lv 58 body piece. Decided not to waste any further time with this quest, as at lv59 u switch to Haubergon body piece. Only excuse to do this quest as Sam (main) is for bcnm50's, and even then u can buy/quest lv50 leg piece (fm Old Moval.) that grants store TP, and wear brigadine for body... again, dont bother wasting ur time on this quest as Sam (if sam is ur main).

I posted this in the feedback & suggestions forum as well.

What follows are the real live rantings of a very frustrated Paladin player - my RL husband. Who, I swear on my life, actually went through everything described here and was really, really not happy afterward. I'm really not happy, and I'm not even the one that spent the equivalent of 50-60 RL hours to complete a quest that - surprise, surprise! - can't be completed for another 6 levels.

So, here goes...

---- Begin story. ----

I'm kinda angry about this, so I'm just going to rant. Bear with me.

I spent all of a big chunk of Friday, and all of Saturday looking for a party to go into Phomiuna Aqueducts to get my Subligar. I figured it'd make the LS subligar hunt easier if we had one fewer to worry about (and I was anxious to have mine as soon as possible).

The quest requires that you talk to an NPC while wearing a part of your AF gear. So you have to be at least level 52. Which sort of sucks, since what you're trying to get is a level 50 piece of armor. Anyway. You go into Phomiuna Aqueducts (a level 40 cap area) with like...as close to a full alliance as possible, and you beat the crap out of these undead things (Fomors), and they drop subligars. Some of them are rare, some of them aren't.

Subligar in hand, you then travel to Bastok and talk to a little girl who fancies herself a fashion designer. You talk to her, while wearing at least one piece of AF gear, and she'll tell you you look terrible, and ask you to come back wearing other armor. You do so, and as a reward she offers you a piece of level 50 armor, provided you bring her the corresponding subligar.

With me so far?

I was down in the aqueducts for six <expletive deleted> hours fighting Fomor before we even came across a Paladin Fomor (the one that drops the subligar I needed). I died a total of three times, including while fighting the Paladin (who was grouped with a Red Mage and a Samurai (the Samurai actually killed me)). Luckily, the Paladin dropped the subligar, and I won the lot. I got to bed really late that night.

Crystal and I then spent a chunk of Sunday levelling up to 52 for several reasons. First, we were a few thousand XP behind our static party. Second, we wanted to be able to wear our AF foot armor. Partially because it's just cool to be able to wear it. But also because it would allow me to do the quest described above - the one where I busted my *** to get a subligar that essentially looks like a pair of lacy panties.

So we hit 52. I head to Bastok to talk to the little stylist girl NPC thingy. And she tells me I look terrible, and that I should come back wearing a Gambison and Beak Trousers. "Not a problem," I think to myself. Those are cheap. 18k gil total to buy them, and I can sell them back immediately. But there IS a problem. A very big <expletive deleted> problem.

The Beak Trousers are level 58. FIFTY EIGHT!

"This must be a bug," I think to myself. So I call a GM, who very politely (if somewhat dismissively) tells me that the good news is that the quest is working perfectly! Yay! The quest sucks! That's great news! Thanks, GM!

So essentially, I get to wait until level 58 to get a piece of level 50 armor that I will only wear until level 60.

Sad

-- Haz (52 Paladin, Kujata Server)

---- End story. ----

If developers actually do read this, I highly recommend they rethink this quest. Making a level 52 Paladin go through all that to get something he a quest he can't complete for another 6 levels? For armor that will be 8 levels old by the time he gets it?

So. Not. Cool.

ya, i found this out myself yesterday. it SUX. I spent a week finishing the promyvions specifically to get the RDM glamor jupon, basically cause there's no really good rdm armor till the tabbard. (tct. mgc. coat? yuck...) So now i have to lvl to 58 at which time i can get this piece of gear. Pff, i'll wear my warlock tabbard at 58, [No thanks!]
I can see the point of how it was meant for highlvl players being able to get a piece of 50 gear for capped missions, but how about new players then? Basically they are f*****!

uh i think you missed what the point of this quest was originally intended. This quest is supposed to be for those who have high level jobs (shows because you need pieces of AF body armor which can only be worn at 52+) who want to do CoP lvl 50 cap areas. The quest allows them to go in with atleast one piece of decent equipment without spending more gil then they already have.

The area does have a level 40 cap, and the Fomors are all levelled somewhere between 44 and 46.

They all con IT+ to IT++. A good party of six should be able to take a solo Fomor. Partied fomors will require an alliance (or very good luck).

There are several instances where you will encounter multiple Fomors that aren't partied. You'll know the partied ones 'cause they'll stick together, and move at the same time. If you attack one (even with Carbuncle), the entire party will respond.

I (lv 54 Elv PLD) was asked for a pair of Beak Trousers and some Padded Mail. The Beak Trousers weren't a problem (although it'll be a few levels before I can wear them....lv 58), but Padded Mail is hard to find!

I've heard that you can go farming and get the subligar needed before you get the quest though. So it sounds like I can go with friends now, get the Pisces Subligar, then hold onto it and the trousers until I level up enough and find some Padded Mail.

Anyone know good (unpartied) spawn points for the Fomor PLDs?

Update:
I went hunting with some folks -- 10 of us in all. The aquaducts are hard as hell to get through. Most of it isn't a problem, a little Sneak here and there and you're fine. But those rooms with the Taurus' and Stegatuarus' (or whatever they're called) can be a nightmare.
First of all, they can see you up on the higher levels, so don't think you're safe. (Who taught them how to climb ladders?)
Secondly, they have the ability to more or less open the fight with a TP attack, even while moving. This poses a problem for Mortal Ray, since you'll turn away from them only to find they're right in front of you. Mmm, floor tastes delicious. (I went from 1,500 tnl to 3,500 tnl.) However, in the course of the fight, turning away from them when they use Mortal Ray works like a charm. Just don't lock onto them, and since it has a nice long charge time, you'll have plenty of time to panic and then still turn around in time to avoid the attack.
(Thirdly, is anybody else strongly reminded on Resident Evil when on those ladders? hehe.)

Also, something we found out the hard way: Don't go near the Minotaur. Ever ever ever. The moment he spots one member of your party, your whole alliance gets dropped right in front of him. Then you panic and scream for the BLMs to Escape or the WHMs to tele-anywhere.

Finally, when fighting the Fomors, try to bring along a WHM that has Erase. Aegis Rift or Schism or whatever its called is terrible -- dropped my Def from 240something to 54. 54 Def + Foxfire = pain.

Happy Subligaria hunting,

New Quest?

I got my Ninja JSE Nokizaru Gi about 2 months ago and yesterday as I talked to Brygid for my G4 she asked me as I was wearing my AF to get a Silver Mail and Silver Sub to wear. When I returned with wearing the items she allowed me to pick another JSE to have. So I guess this is repeatable as long as I get another Fomor sub drop to trade her again.

Do you GIVE her the JSE subligar or do you simply wear it and talk to her like before?

Parade Cuirrass is nice but I'm not sure if I wanna lose the subligar. I wanna wear it with my yukata. ^^

No once u have worn the body & leg armor that she requests, U just have to return to her & trade it to recieve your JSE...

*NOTE: The subligar WILL be lost, so u will have to go farm one again if u wish to have it for use....*
