It's also great for any time you need to sub ninja on any of the useable jobs. Bard can go pretty pro with this, haidate, and other haste pieces. It's doable without, but it's a nice body piece that's easy to obtain, so why not?
(And by easy to obtain I mean everyone does floor 80, so it shouldn't be hard to get a group, though the drop might suck.)

Yeah I'd have to say a lot of people aren't thinking clearly here. Please show me where else PUP is going to get haste+4% on another body piece.
If you are familiar with how difficult or pricey it is to get haste pieces in this game then you should know this is an outstanding piece for all the jobs that can use it, including PUP.

This is great for a Pup Haste build and Mp set.
This set would be great for a mage job, or a job that subs WHM like BRD.
But PUP?
Problem is that this isn't some cheap AH armor... it takes a lot of effort to obtain this armor set. It's stats should complement the jobs that can equip it, not pose some situational use for the job... like PUP. PUP/WHM is for status cures and raises, when PUP's DD potential is ineffective.
Denali in this case would be a match made in heaven for PUP.

I'm really after getting this entire set for my pup. I have pahluwan set for melee and i'll have the goliard set for mage. Believe me, I would appreciate any additional magic defense bonus in dynamis when i'm in the blm alliance as pup/whm or pup/nin. I've also found that since the puppet never needs to rest, having conserve mp, +hmp, and more max mp helps the puppet+master team overall by having the master cause less downtime for the puppet.
I find myself less and less just running up punching things and more often supporting from the back while my puppet does inside work. This is especially true in HNM's and Dynamis or Limbus. Everywhere else you will probably be wanting to use a melee oriented set more.

Manaburning as PUP/WHM with my Spiritreaver is my core source of XP and the Goliard set is absolutely amazing for such a build (I'm at 3/5 currently--waiting on body to drop). Please keep your stupidity to yourself.

Oh god, I'd kill for HP+42 MP+42 for Convert. Enmity-5 is also a nice piece. Haste+4% is nearly as good as a Duelist's Tabard, good replacement piece for those who don't do dynamis enough.

You have to keep in mind where PUP can use the goliard set. It's actually pretty damn good for PUP/WHM for Besieged and HNMs. And since I also have RDM 75, I want the set anyway :)

Besides the Haste (which, lets face it, comes at a sacrifice of other stats) I can't see any benefits on this for Puppetmasters. Enmity -5 might be handy, but Conserve MP is virtually useless (Heck, it has questionable worth when you have the job trait as BLM!). The HP and MP bonuses are impressive, but even so a PUP's mage skills are entirely limited to their support job. MP and all.

Actually...this has some use to PUP the HP+42, Enmity-5 and haste+4% are very useful for a puppetmaster.
