I feel everyone's pain about the crafting. I am currently level 90.1 and still get several failed attempts on beeswax...seriously SE, beeswax failure for this much time invested??? I have farmed everything to this point and the items i could not get i bought. Probably over 10 million gil invested, that is alot of Holy water synthesis...LOL.

A warning for anyone on Hades or any other server if he gets a transfer. Never party with Ness. Here is my story:
I shouted and gathered an alliance together. We were to do Optical Hats in the order in which the person was invited. I was to be first and Ness was in dead last. Long story short, we made it to Hakutaku spawn. We fought him for about 30min and I got disconnected. Ness had party leader now. I asked him several times for it back, but he never responded. After about an hour of fighting Hakutaku, we finally killed him. I lotted, but then Ness changed it to Leader Lot, stole my Optical Hat, warped, and logged off.
So if anyone sees Ness on Hades or any other server, if he happens to get a transfer, then don't party with him. Or you can party with him and Mpk him ^^

Ok I am wondering what lvl is this synth. On somepage this is listed as a lvl 84 synth and here it is a lvl 90 synth. So what lvl is this?

HOW MUC DO THESE RUN FOR I WOULD LIKE TO BUY ONE AND WAIT TILL IM 70 AND GET ME ONE OF THOSE O HATS.
Usually over a mil considering that the eyes are hard to get, and are in places where 75s have trouble staying alive. With that said the price greatly varies with the server, but considering your buying a package of all the eyes, and the craft all complete i can see this being no less than 1 mil gil.

I have made over 20 of these things for friend and to sell.... luckly i have not failed once. I have made all different days, time, moon phase's, with paid support and with out. I started making when i was lvl 88. It has always been a question in the back of my mind, does your race play a role in your synths? This i would like to know. Anyways if your on Remora and need one of these look me up and send a tell - evilbrucelee

ok its been a while since my last post - but since then i have made 86 eye clusters with 0% failure's. I do with or with out apron on or club. Dont care about moon phase or day of week will make anytime. i charge 50k, an if i should break the synth - you still walk away with a cluster. I have a made one in the mog just incase. On remora server

Optical Hat is god all of offensive hats, even though it's ugly as hell. It's way worth the trouble.

apparently, this hat is causing more trouble than its worth. from my point of veiw, who needs this hat when they can just wait for their 2nd af hat? but then again.... im just a 35 war
and honestly this is a lot easier to get then your af2 hat and this hat is alot better then alot of af hats
dude think about it what rather u have? + 10 acc +10 rng acc and +10 eva or for ex. the Melee crown (mnk af2 head) on for fights? granted its got +def, HP%, and str but most mnk strong WS are based more on VIT not STR. also with the acc u can hit alot more i should know unless u got good gear as mnk (hume) ur gonna hit crappy

Not all of the AF2 hats are as good as this hat, or, rather, fill other purposes. The Assassin's Bonnet, for example, is less desirable for TP gain, but is something to macro in for Sneak Attack, whereas the rest of the time you will most likely be wearing the Optical Hat as a thief.
well since ur only a 35 war i wont call u an idiot, but tis hat is way better than the second AF hat

Well, if that's true about the moon phase, do NOT do it at 67% and 65% waning crecent. I just gave my stuff to a 100+3 alchemy guy...break. He offered to do it again if I found him a golden (he supplied the rest). I found one in all of Jeuno/RF. 400k. Break again... was wind for 67 and ice for 65. I feel shocked Cotton!

Things like that are why I only offer to craft this on ~100% full moon, especially on Lightsday. Best success rate.
I've HQed this under those circumstances also. I wish there was an actual HQ version, but I can see why there isn't.

I have made over 250 of these now.
8 fails.
Moon phase is VERY critical to have success.
Day of the week is less important, and personally I only avoid Darksday.
I've read through this section and noticed people complaining about failures on these. one thing I've noticed about crafting is that you REALLY need to watch your moon phase. IE.was heading into SSG and my bud needed me to synth him some beeswax to make oils w/. so i just faced my direction, day was fires day, hit the synth, got a critical failure. low lvl synth, on day of the crystal, facing the crystals direction, and boom failure. moon phase was like 14% or something. I've noticed that low moon phase really screws up my alchemy synths. so if you wanna get the best results just look up a timer page and look for the next full moon lights day. don't exactly need full moon, but w/ a synth like this i would defiantly wait.

Farmed all the eyes on my own the first time around as a 72 nin, didnt have much problems trio'd Wooden. Had a friend try to synth them (he just got lvl 84 alch)the caps listed at 84 on other sites, so I figured what the heck and let him do it. He got advanced support, started the synth... BAM, failed... "oh well" I said. "I'll just farm new ones"... Well, what a complete pain in the ***. Golden and Earthen dropped pretty quick, Damp took me 6 hours with a friend 3 deaths and several battles to push some greedy bst out of the camp, who were wearing O-hats... Two attempts for Burning, didnt take too long but died from low hp aggro from someones undead train straglers... Now I am onto last eye, Wooden... big pain in the butt, I still lack the map of this place but I'm able to find the site where millioneyes are located. My friends, who were going to help me ended up bailing on me and my LS is "far too busy to help me out" yet they all say GL... asses w/e, So I said "***** it" and went on my own... get down there, fight one (74 nin now) get it to 1% hp, I was around 400, it paralyzes me and then blast me with its fancy laser beam attack (name eludes me atm)didnt have a chance to mijin on it cause death ensues... ***** this "F"ing game! If anyone on Hades want to help me out, I'd appreciate it. Just need a mage with me and I can get this damn eye...

I just thought that I would post here and rant / whatever about SE and their crappy random number generator. I have a friend who is Alchemy lvl 100+2 with image support who broke two of the clusters for me. I have never in my life seen anything so exasperating in my life. The first set, I farmed over half of the eyes solo as a 75WHM/THF37 and that took me over 12 hours. The second round I bought 2, was given one, and spent about 6 hours farming the last 2. This one broke on lightsday with image support and everything. Therefore I suggust anyone who wants this just dish out the 3mil or whatever clusters are going for on your server. The time you spend farming and the aggrivation of them blowing up is definately not worth it. As a result, I may not be playing much longer. My time is worth way too much to torture myself much more with this crap. Side note: SE sucks, and the jerk who coded the full loss of materials on this synth should be shot! ( Not really, but he is definately not a nice person. )
Sompage, mysterytour, and ffrecipe all say the cap is 84.
WEll that could explain that no one ever ever asked me to craft one even though I'm 5 point above the cap, I'd really like someone to fix this info so i can actually craft the thing (maybe sign one ;) )

I got the eyes, i need to make the cluster...and the person who's gonna do it says wait til lightsday...you know better chance of synth. So the thing is..i'm not sure when lightsday is... can someone break it down for me?

If you look at the bottom left corner of the screen, right above the chat box, there is a circle, and then the time of the day. A white circle is lightsday. Lightsday is after Lightningday (Light purple dot) and before Darksday (Black dot).

ok i see this thing around for like 500-1000k and i have absolutly no clue as to what it does, and appaerntly no one else does either... i'm starting to think its jsut a "HAHAHA look what i got and you don't" item.

Hakutaku is the NM that drops the Optical Hat (check the stats, you will see why people want it!!).

Me (60 BST) and my friend a 74 pld decided to go hunting for this. HE was drunk and died 5 seconds into (atleast he didnt complain when i gave him a raise 1 cause he was to drunk lol) the fight so i had to solo the damn eye at lvl 60 using T dire bats it took about 20 min but i won no prob
My belif on this now is if you 2 did die then wow you must suck... no offense but im sue bsts can solo this at 70 with little problems.

I agree there is just no reason for these extremely good items to be treated commenly square has a serious rating problem but nevertheless where theres gil theres gill sellers end of story love em or hate em but who really loves them? maybe they were just mistreated as children...

How much would you be willing to buy one of these in someones Bazaar? Whats too much? 800K?
I have seen in peoples bazar selling them form the range of 100k-300k, sound cheap. but I have also seen other alchemists shouting in jeuno that they would make them and only charge you 100k.

What you are seeing for 100k to 300k are probably the eye pieces to make the cluster . The cheapest I have seen a cluster on fairy is 700k and have seen others selling for 1.5 mil .
I can get to Den of Rancor through the Temple of Uggalepih. However, I don't have a map of the Den of Rancor. Could someone please tell me how I could get to a camp for the million eyes from some starting point (like the paintbrush door in the Temple of Uggalepih)?

Go South West on the 1st map til u get to the path downstairs(h-13) (B on the BEB map) and u'll see em down there. Id suggest bringing some BSts to charm the Mousses. 2 BSTs can take the eyes @ 70 by sic-ing Mousses on em and letting them die then grabbing another one. Its dangerous, but surprisingly... WE DIDNT DIE! /cheer.
The Million Eyes are on the map with the ??? for spawning Hakutaku, which is marked on the BEB maps.
