Just got one off of a Walking Tree in East Ronfaure[S] as 75Drg/37War
These do not drop from Leshy in Lufaise Meadows from my own experience.

these things go for 50k on pandemonium server no lie and elms go for 10k while ebony r less then 9k

these things are selling like fire on Quetzy..Prices have gone from 15k to 22k both in Jeuno and Sandy. Alot of people are using this to synth up from 69 to 72. Reason being 12 logs equal 240k and a stack goes for 280, so even at two break losses you are skilling up without a loss. (if you put 2 or 3 yellow jars in your moghouse, you won't lose material, I tried this and failed 5 times and didn't lose my log, but got two skillups)

This is also a very rare clamming find.
These are currently going for 15k on Bahamut, they are the least loss synth to level woodworking but they can be expensive when you fail.
I also find the rate of skillups to be not so great... took me forevr to go from 69.9 to 70.0 and 20 synths later I am still 70.0.
The reason they are so high price is well pretty much due to inflation and the fact they are really rare so people will pay stupid prices for them. So far though everytime the log price goes up after a few days the ancient lumber price rises to match so it's not all that bad.

did you past the guild test? If not that may be why you're not skilling up. I went from 68.0 - 68.6 on just 18 logs. Sadly though I lost 3 of them ><

Well, you can enter via Jugners forest is one way, however I'm assuming you want to get to the guild. It's connected to Northern San d'oria, sort of close to the wood guild itself.
If you were running from the wood guild towards southern sandy, go just past the stairway and you'll see a closed shutter door. Examine it and you can enter carpenters landing.

I was wondering is this a really rare drop and find. The reason i ask is because ive seen 30 on asura every week so didnt know. Thx ^^

Please anyone if you can help me out, I dont know where to log for this wood and I can't afford to keep buying it for my woodworking. Please if you can give maybe even a hint I would appretiate it. I am dedicated to getting ww to 100 and I'm at 83 making a little profit. But not enough to support synthesis with these items.
I was playing around in Shakhrami Maze (bored) today and excavated two of these out of about 10 tries.
Found this item digging with Chocobo in Yuhtunda jungle. It goes for 4k on my sever (Lakshimi)
it's quite hard to sell so i guess either sell at a merchant or hang onto it...

I just excavated thig log and would also like to know if I should hold on to it or sell it
