I noticed on Prism Powder synth is doesn't show a HQ rate useing the Trituration I was wondering if anyone has HQ'd on Prism Powders useing this Key Item?
there is no HQ rate because the yeild is 12. You might also say that there is an HQ for meaat mithkabobs, but they dont HQ in quantity; they HQ in quality; meat cheif kabobs. But you can not exceed the limit to the quantity on a single yield. =)
Anyone else hate it when you fail on this synth and end up with a odd number of glass fiber. So i end up with 1 piece and a whole stack, so then i have to cut into the whole stack to make things neat and tidy but i still face the same problem.
Yes, i am slightly crazy. When stuff like this isn't neat it bothers me. <. .>
the reason for urs not selling = if u place urs up for 12k and someone else places theirs up for 10k, then someones buys for 12k THEIRS WILL SELL FIRST. its kinda like the idiots who post 1,000 on weapons that are a fortune to show off.. they go and bid all their gil to say hey i got this much and this items.
Okay, I had made about 20 Artificial lenses back in my 20's early 30's and saved them to make Powder. I finally hit 37 this morning and decided it was time to get rid of the clog in my inventory.
It was windsday, between 0200 and 1300 Vana time, with a Waxing Crescent of about 7%, I was facing north, with advanced support until I ticked over to 38 (it wore off around then). EVERY SYNGLE SYNTH PRODUCED 6 POWDERS; excluding two breaks. I had one near critical where I lost 2 glass fibers plus my crystal, and one where I lost a fiber and a lense. I wound up with 10 stacks of Prism Powder.
Now according to alla, Normal produces 2, HQ1 producces 6; and HQ2 gives 12; whereas ffxi.somepage.net says NQ is 6, HQ1 is 8, HQ2 is 10 and HQ3 is 12. Is alla out of date? Did I get lucky? Where's Jimmy Hoffa? Who shot JFK? And if the Dead Kennedy's are dead, how can they make music? THE WORLD DEMANDS TO KNOW!
If someone sells something to a guild shop they will have it in stock, but they'll only have as much as the person sold to them. Probably someone had sold a few to the guild the day you happened to see them there.
I have never seen it there but then again I could be wrong. Maybe they changed it in the update. If you need some I can make it for you. 8 glass fibers gives a stack of PP. Ask for Franklyn.
Using the Artificial Lenses that put me in the hole, I made tons of Prism Powder. They sell at 10-12k a stack.
Here is the odd part. I placed 7 stacks up at the Auction House when there were 0 being sold. Mine should sell first right? I priced them at 12k and waited one day. When I check the AH the next morning none have sold. I view the History and find that plenty sold the previous night at a constant 12k and there were 12 plus my 7 currently up for sale. Why didn't mine sell?
I wait another night. Same thing happens and the price never faltered from 12k. Everyone else's have sold for what mine were priced at long before theirs. I am baffled as to why mine have not sold or if they ever will.
Anyone have any incite as to why this happened?
All I can say is that maybe things are not sold according to who put theirs in first. It may be a random pick from the price range.
Disregard my prior post. I've had a realization. The Prism Powder that sold WAS set at a lower price but the buyer bought it for 12k, therefore the lower priced items sell first.
Being exclusive has nothing to do with the drop rate, it simply means that you cannot pass it on to another player character. You can sometimes sell them to NPCs, etc.
The main thing to keep in mind with the recipe you're discussing (the lev 36 cap recipe) is that if you are planning on crafting these, you will likely do so while in the field - since you can only use the lenses you or your party get as drops. This item is not rare, however so you can have multiple if you get lucky and they're dropping a lot.
You will have to get them, synth the recipe for as many eyes as you have, and so on. This can be a good recipe if you farm Ahrimans - but the other one is more practical for a lower leveled player.
Being a RDM, I learned very quickly the order in which you cast Sneak, Invis, and Deodorize. The effects are the same whether you use items or spells to obtain them.
1) If you cast a spell or use an item while under the effect of Invisible, it WILL immediately wear off (P.S. you cannot open doors, engage NPC's etc. while Invisible).
2) The three effects DO stack. -Sneak/Deodorize can be used in any order. -Invis has to be used LAST, or it will wear off.
3) The time each effect lasts is random. You get three warnings before it wears off, so pay attention.
4) If you zone, the effect wears off. If you zone and something aggros and kills you in one hit, tough luck.
Also, sneak, invisible and deoderize wear off when you use an offensive spell, attack, or are attacked. Sneak and deoderize will wear off when you open a treasure chest or coffer, and you must take invisible off manually before you target any object.
Any time you use an item or spell while invisible it will cancle the invisibility effect (whether you used the spell or power). That's why you need to apply all other items/spells (Sneak/Deo) before using this item.
I assume the Invisiblity effect generated by these is the same as the spell's. You can stack them but only if you use the silence effect first. Taking an action like casting sneak or using silent oil will cancel the invisiblilty.
Only need 10 more lvls and I will finally be able to make the full silent->deo->Prism set:) Which, btw are great if you are a non-mage just running around. I don't know how much my ls has spent on these items because they needed to do a quest or another, but I have already made over 40k on the other items just lvling my skill:)... however, silent oil is selling slowly in bastok... BUY MORE PPL:)
I tried to use both the Silent Oil and the Prism Powder and I became visible after applying the Silent Oil right after the Prism Powder so it doesn't look like you can combine the effect Does anyone know if there are other combinations that will work? Like Deodorizer and Silent? Expensive to experiment with some of these.
OK. I was wondering this, too, so I went ahead and wasted a few oils to find out once and for all (you're welcome).
Anyway. Deodorize and Silent are independent of each other - you can use them in either order and both will be active. But if you're going to combine either/both of them with Invisible, the Prism Powder must be last.
Actually, I wasted a couple of more vials because I hadn't realized that ALL of them will fall off immediately when you zone. Now we know...
