i know man....the original cactus men pwned...these new ones look...out of shape at best...maybe Cactuars suddenly developed a junk food habit...anyway i miss the original cactuar model...was the best friggin model they could ever make for a cactus. rate up big time
Came back to West altepa as a 49 bst in a TRIO. Figure we try to XP on Secutors. 2 of us snag a cactar with no problem and 1 beetle. With 1000 needle he went down fast. Recharming 1st cactar recharm no prob the 2nd 1 resisted like the jellies do. 2nd Secutor Died from 1000 needle soooo >.> we out some xp. After that point on cactars were sooooo hard to charm, we gave up on them ( 2 bst trying to charm 1 cactar and almost die'n <No Thanks>).
Yay! there are cactuar in this game!!!, i love seeing legendary ff fiends in new games ^^, my plan is to take screen shots of em all, so far : Malboro, Coeurl ^^
they all look stupid to me but nothing beats the day where i saw a lv 75 with half hp die to 1k needls lmao i was like wtf wtf wtf LOL 75 pld/war DIED TO **** -_-
These do use 1000 Needles. It does exactly 1000 damage to the people around it, split evenly. The more people around it the better it is because less damage. A person alone, 1000 damage.
its those curvy thighs and that erotic dancing... so... Not right. :/ Why it has to have its arms out and waggle its way towards you in a dance of seduction is beyond me but *shrug* eh, at least they make great pets.
Not only are Cactaurs pure evil, now they look like...sucking...ness...ess. I can't see how people find anything that hits for 999 or 9999 or even 99999 cute!
I think the only cool cactuar is from FF XIII. I haven't seen the ones from FF X so those might be better. These ones look like fat chicks halfway through a weight-loss program.
(Edit: See post below mine first) Not to mention that our FFII was technically released in Japan as FF4-Easytype because FF4 was "too hard" for "inferior foreign gamers". In fact, the only reason FF5 never made it to our shores until years later was, again, because SE thought it was too hard. Furthermore, our FFIII was a slightly censored version of FF6j (note that some people like to tack a little "j" on the end of any FF game between 2 and 6 to avoid conclusion) because of that one boss that appeared out of a picture frame (16-bit sprite cleavage? The horror!), and IIRC, the famous "Spoony Bard" line from our FFII was put there to replace a swear word in the original Japanese.
Anyway, I suppose the real question is, were there Cactuars or Cactrots or whatever in FF3j? Additionally, where the Spoony did the word "Sabotender" come from?
Many of the names in the desert seem to have their roots in Spanish (or a similar language). It's entirely possible that Sabotender means something in the Spanish language, or it may be a new word made from Spanish prefixes or suffixes. Who knows? Example: Sabotender Bailaor seems to have some root in the word "bailar," which means to dance, however "Bailador" is the normal translation of "dancer." I'm not sure what the omission of the "D" means. It may mean something slightly different. Anyways, if anyone speaks Italian or something and knows what this means, drop a line :)
"Bailaor" applies to the male dancers of an specific folk dance/music from the south of spain called "Flamenco". It's a language degeneration due to the strong and characteristic accent and slang of the area.
"Saboten" is japanese for cactus. Thus a Sabotender is either a Cactus-er or my personal theory is they are tenders of the cactus (like Ents are the shephards of the trees).
Not exactly, there really was a Final Fantasy III for the NES in Japan. They just decided to confuse us Americans by never releasing II and III, so II = IV american, III = VI american...then they randomly decided to move back to the real convention for VII. Yes, your head should be hurting right now.
