This wasnt too bad of a fight.
I solo'd this for my husband (Whm60/15NIN) never underestimate the power of a gimped subjob! =^.^=

i beat him today as a 66whm/33blm solo

Soloed him today 57RDM/BLM.
Spent an hour taking out the demons by the time I killed one another came up and started snacking on me. Ended up sleeping the add's and resting and called NPC to help out (she wasn't much help lv 34). I noticed that there is a little part of the cliff in the SE corner that is kind of out of the way. So I rested, buffed up (the usual 7 Stoneskin, Phalanx, Icespikes, Haste, EnThunder, Aquaveil, and Blink. I waited until the demons heads were turned and ran to the chasm. Tossed the stone in cast Bio II on the Chaos Elemental and ran back to my little shelter. The rest was cake Drain and Aspir do wonders other elemental spells take out a nice chunk out as well. I just kept Stoneskin up and converted when I had 300 hp just to ensure he wouldn't give me any suprises. I think that it would be a little harder to solo as a 50-60 BLM since Stoneskin helps out a lot, but I doubt that it is impossible.

can a 60 rdm solo this?
I'd vote for yes if you have a good ninja sub job. Probably not w/ black mage sj, because i just tried fighting the NM for Dragoon AF1... and did very little damage w/ melee, but fair damage with spells. That ant hits hard for a paladin. >.<;;; Also, this is hard to do major damage to, because spells that fall under "Darkness" are DoT or Drain/Aspir, nothing that can do really fast consistent damage in a pinch to this. So if you DO decide to try it, i'd bring hi pots, ethers, and maybe a scroll of instant reraise along with, just in case it goes to hell

NEWS FLASH! in no major culture is LIGHT considered evil or CHAOTIC (well, no sane culture, i mean its called light for a reason, right?)!!! i want to see a death spell spaming demon-god-thing!!
at least make it a darkness elemental, or maybe a light elemental that looks cooler,

Well logically light is more chaotic than dark, what with more energy and light actually being a thing that exists, while dark is just an abscene of light. Further more philosphically speaking chaos is preferable to order considering that perfect order would entail absolute niothing ness, and that the constant state for the whole universe is entrophy.

Everyone says this wand is crap compared to what you otherwise could use, so my plan is to wait until 50, then do this (probably fairly easily, at that point) and then unlock AF2. Why make a special trip in the "early 40s" if I'm not gonna use the wand?

i finished it at 47. i use the wand with a elegant shield. or at least thats what i think its called. anyways its a total of 26mp and i think chr . and having a shield doesnt hurt so *thumb up* yeah/....
can i spawn him on my 54 rdm since i need the quest? cause i cant b screwed getting anoyther 50+ to help
Yes, it the item you need drops and then its all yours to go trade.
Despite the name, it behaves almost exactly like a Light Elemental as it's model indicates.
Can't be silenced, will use Shell 3 which is trouble some for soloing BLM, and will use Banishga II more often when it gets below 1/4th health. Has no two hour ability.

Agreed to help an lsmate get to Xarcabard for some quest. I'm like, sure... better than dying with bst again. Halfway through Ranguemont, they bring up this monster, whose name I recognized for being an AF1 mob.
I'm like great... I wasn't prepared for an AF1 fight, but I figured what the hell. I'm out for ways to prove myself, and soloing Overgrown Roses despite my ls telling me it's dumb has gotten old.
So I sneak/invis him through to this place, kill the demons in the way, then rest up and hold my breath.
He spawned it, I jumped it, and took to beating his ***. 10-15 minutes later, he died. The blm kept me regened and cure IIed me a few times, despite my saying to hold off on using up mp until it 2 houred (because I wasn't sure if it did or not).
Well, it then came to my realization as it reached it's last sliver of life, that it had no 2 hour. Therefore, I could have easily soloed it. (only used 7 mp for dia to claim it)

Me (rdm/blm, 52) and my friend (whm/blm 64) both needed to kill this guy, so we went and play with him.. cleared the area of demons, fighting them normaly two- three at a time ( <3 sleep spells)
toke the ele out no problem, i didnt even bother with stoneskin or blink, just drained him, he only did 0-13dmg with Phalanx up.
only thing is the demons:) i think at one point we had three slept WHILE we fought this guy.
Second time we fought him, no demons showed up, peace of cake, im 100% i could have solo'ed him myself. Have fun everyone with your useless wand:) {Casting Wand}{You can have this}{Sell}50gil.

lol i got my blm to 42 and said hey lets own this guy so i got my good pld buddy (61) me (60)whm and we Pucked up anther blm from my ls we owned him, too easy silenceing him wasnt easy but he didnt cast anything other than banishgaII, diga, flash ,and stoneskin a few vorpal blades and star burts was dead the wand its self isnt that great but you do need to have to it get the others af's anyway what i just said doesnt help i just wanted to share
just soloed it as a 60rng/30nin. i was with a blm 52, he died from demon aggro as soon as he spawned it. i ran around above where it spawns and fought it up there. had to use slug shot 6 times. my ranged attacks were doing ~36 each time...

Casting Wand? pfft. Why do BLMs have to come all the way out here when our Gooder Halfs (the WHMs) just go to Valkurm Dunes? Yes Chaos Ele is easy but at 41 running around Demons is a nightmare (FLASHBACK)(Me 20 HP): AHHH!! RUN AWAY

Yet since its required for the rest of the oddly Vivi Lookish Armor (it does look like Vivi if your a Small Taru) Its cool. Though I do slightly envy the WHMs cause they get like Holy Breastplate at 40 and so. and their AF1 is highly better than the BLMs. But enough of my rantings.

Seems odd to call a puny light ele a chaos elemental when it can't even seem to do anything worthwhile to hurt you.

also you can only carry one faded crystal at a time so farming it could be very time consuming
LoL this is an easy question to answer, go trade a regular elemental crystal to a tele crystal at one of the spires, and you will get a crystal drained of it's energy, trade this crystal to the ??? by the well lit Gorge guarded by the demons and your chaos elemental will spawn do a person a favor and take some blm's on the AF1 quest with you they will appreciate you for it.
Could I solo this as a BLM50/RDM25 with a Stun >>> Sleep II >>> Elemental Seal >>> Freeze? I have INT+27 with my party gear. I'd like to get this crap wand out of the way... I want my pimp-gear. (~.^)

Did this guy today for a freind.I am a 60 rdm and i subbed nin for this fight. The blm was lvl 50 but i had him stay back during the whole fight he didnt do 1 dmg to me. Pretty easy. didnt drop anything but glowstone.

fought him twice for my AF and other blms never dropped anything but the glowstone

Yeah, I'm not worried about him, just the getting there and the other mobs. Going to have a full party of LS friends to help me, though, all between 44 and 50.
I just done this it was me a 46blm/21whm
and a 55rdm/25blm he was really weak but a demon
poped in the middle of battle aggroed me and killed me, so after i was dead rdm slept it
killed elemetal and took off to a "Safe Place"
and converted and warped, the demon killed him while he was warping out >.<

Yes He Is...cast wand=crap but have to have it to get other AF's
fyi casting wand is for blm because blm can get black halo so can whm with hexa strike
