Due to the new Trial of the Magians gaxe trial #365, I have some hopefully useful information.
Firstly, if you want to minimize the amount of time spent camping this, bring widescan. Alternatively, you can run around randomly killing raptors in the hope that one of them will pop the NM.
If you don't have widescan, try to bring someone who has it. It's not absolutely necessary as this is a seriously non-camped NM, but having it will save you effort. The raptors have a 5min respawn, and using a timer makes it easy.
On widescan, you will see a group of three raptors almost at the bottom of the list. When I camped this, the top raptor in the group was always the placeholder. When Daggerclaw spawned, he was always the bottom raptor in the group:
Jubjub
Raptor <-- placeholder
Raptor
Raptor / Daggerclaw Dracos
Goblins
The placeholder can spawn anywhere in the K-10, K-11, L-10, L-11 areas. I've seen it in all of them.
Second, as others have mentioned, the spawn area shown on the map is not entirely accurate. I've seen Daggerclaw spawn outside of it more than once. Because of the placeholder spawn area I mentioned above, it might be easier to just treat the possible spawn area as being the entire circular area plus the entire entry area.
Third, again as others have pointed out, watch out for Waraxe Beak. While doing that, WATCH OUT for Waraxe Beak. Some jobs can take him at 75, but don't take it for granted. He will aggro 75s, and my decently geared/skilled WAR/RNG lasted about 15 minutes before eating dirt. Duo with 75PLD wasn't a problem though. Don't AFK anywhere there if you don't know the ToD (21-24hr timed spawn) ... I've seen him wandering a long distance.
I hope this helps, and good luck.
