Oztroja Coffer - THF AF  

ya this is pretty easy i was off to get my coffer solo got my sneak and invis tools for sub nin,

get a /t from LS friend who says want me to give you a hand finding your coffer i said ya if you dont mind, hes high PLD

so we get there find a coffer real quick on the first grid ref ^^ and the yags turn im on my macro to use my skellys and omfg a little taru is behind that thing with me >< she gets it i /slap before she warps then 2 minutes later get a /t from her saying sorry i said its cool np, knowing she was there longer than i

so we ran around for abit my PLD friend got some agro zoned died or warped /huh
came back and i was still looking casting sneak invis by leaches even getting in the pond for a dip^^

then he says to me he found it and wtf its in the same spot as when the taru nabbed it and i waited for eyes to turn away and waited for invis to go away used 1 skelly ftw^^ oh also it seems 1 skelly but id take more just incase also >< as spend 35k on skelly stack for no reason i had em just took some more incase

I just did this and it was amazing, i had been in the Castle several times trying to get it but i never could find one, finally i went in there with a friend 61 war/nin, but i got aggro from leeches and warped out, and he died while waiting for me to get back :(, but i went back in there and got someone to open the door for me, i was 55 thf/whm, so i casted invis and got all the way to the leech pond again where the af was, and i casted sneak when no yags were around, got it open on first try with thief tool, and then got aggro from several things, but i used flee and used instant warp, but at 60% they caught up to me and started wailing, and i warped... i got to jeuno with 58/903 hp ^^, i survived and got my AF ^^

Can you get the AF Pants using just THF Tools or skelly keys?

And will it just pop right on out if u are using THF or does it take a few trys like getting gill waiting the getting item wait some more then pants.......?

I have a lvl 55 thf and i was bored as hell. Well i asked a lvl 72thf friend to come and help me cuz she knows he knows all the spawing points of this. When we where almost there he dced and never came back!
I decited to go on my own.... i waslked through castle for like 30mins and found some interesting places. i checked alla and the link here to the site wich has all the spawning points in it sure helped me out alot! after i was lmost killed i came in a room with 4 spawning points in it, after opening a "Brass Door" i came to a weird area with a 60bst in it, he was doing Genkai 3 behind a pillar there was a treasure coffer!!! i opened it with a Skeleton Key and i got it! 30mins work and i have my AF3!! i was so happy!
btw always use skeleton keys thf tools suck for this.. i used skeles for Af1 and AF3 and got them both 1st time ^^[quote][/quote]

If you find your Coffer in Map 5 like my wife did, you need to have a party to kill everything in the room because there are Yags and Leeches in there. The Coffer Chest is in the middle of a pond in the middle of the room. The leeches are surrounding it followed by Yags.

I think this place is rather complicated to get through, so I will provide some directions on how to get to the coffer chests:

1) Firstly make sure you have a map. If you haven't got it yet. Check the link at Speak Easy ( http://www.speakeasy.org/~sticks/ffxi/treasure/ ) to help you get through this area. Speakeasy also has the locations of the coffers
2) To get to Castle Oztroja you need to enter from Sauromogue Champaign. If you follow Dragoraga's spine directly East you will find the entrance to the Castle
3) Welcome to the Castle. You are currently at (F-8). You need to head to (I-8) where you will find a Bronze Door. The handles here will either open the door or open the trap below. It seems to be random. You may notice that you can't seem to move the handles unless you are in teh exact position (near the middle). Once you spring the handle immediately run up to the door. There is a small spot in the top corner of the door where you can stand if the trap opens. then you can try the other handle and get through.
4) (Map 2) You need to get to the Bronze Door at G-8. Note there are unmarked Walls on both paths N and S in G-8, so you will have to come from the east. There is also an unmarked wall at H-8, so it's best to approach from the southern path (running along H-10). The guards at the door of the bronze door are harder Yugado. be prepared to Invis. The handle order is seemingly random. The first time i came here the order was 1-2. The second i did 1-2-4. Try to be patient and hopefully you wont get aggro from the tuff Yagudos around you.
5) (Map 3) Use your invis spells as soon as you get through the door. The mobs will suddenly get very difficult! This Coffer is incredibly camped so you will have to use your thievery skills to get to the coffer first. Although there are more coffers on the 4th floor i wouldnt advise going there since they are very very tough. There are six spawns here so you should be able to find it in time!

Due to the recent displacement of astral rings toward BCNM, this quest, like the RDM AF quest is no longer quite so difficult.

As an asside another useful tactic for this quest is to see if you can hitch a ride with the MNK AF (pant - level 60). In he monks case they have to clear out some of the mobs that drop the key so he can get his pants. Ans since every one is already there, might a well kill 2 birds with one stone (also much more likely to only be one or 2 people needing the key than in a usual key/skillup party).
