This is a nice piece to carry around for some extra MP in certain situations. For example, on my 65 BST/WHM, switching in this and my Astral gives me enough MP to Raise, or at 66 it will be enough to cast Reraise. Handy to have around.

I'm trying this out with my paladin. The +1 version, I'm thinking, may offset the jelly ring's magic damage penalty, in addition to giving some bonus MP.
What I'd like to know is how +4 magic defense compares to 5% magic damage taken. Are those close? Is the magic defense better than the 5% i take with jelly ring? Worse?

also worth mentioning, since the materials are pretty easy to acquire, the NQ is going for a mere 5000 gil on quetz.. the HQ is something crazy like 2mil, but i'm quite happy with the NQ tyvm :3
think of it this way... before ToAU came out, all of the back pieces that gave 25-30MP were 1-3mil... now i get one for 5k /cheer for all broke bards!!
