Im a lvl 61 thf/nin atm, and i purchased an amemit mantle. I also have this mantle, and i was curious as to wether i should keep the amemit or sell it..Then again I have them set for equip macros. Macro1=/equip snipers /wait /equip amemit mantle
Macro2=/equip Flourites /wait /equip Rep. army mntl
Mostly i was curious how long it takes for items to actually effect you after you use your equip macro, because i experience some delay in their taking effect.

This reply is probably too late to help you, but just in case..
1. There is no dealy between equipping an item and its stats taking effect.
2. The ATT bonus from Amemit Mantle will be more useful for SATA damage than an additional DEX +2. You can get plenty of DEX boost out of other pieces of gear. DEX determines the max amount of damage SA will do and ATT determines your ability to reach that maximum number. A mixture of DEX, AGI, and ATT gear is the best way to ensure a consistently high SATA damage rate.

I'm a paladin lvl 55 and i want this item badly :( but i'm just rank 5 so ican't get it with CP :( that's not fair cause i need rank 6 to get this item and i can't get rank six before lvl 60.. and at level 60 this itam ain't that good >.>;
yeah i got rank 6 specifically for this mantle although i didnt have enough CP until i got lvl 56:(

You don't have to be level 60 to get Rank 6. The recommended minimum level to try Mission 5-2 is level 55, but I just completed Mission 5-2 with my LS Sunday with the following party: Nin 65, Rdm 65, Drg 60, Rng 55, Thf 53, and Whm 53. All of us went back to our home nations and recieved Rank 6. The Thf and I are from Bastok, so we promptly purchased this mantle from one of the guards.

They should fix that ^^; 24000 for Bastokians, and I believe 32000 for non-Bastokians (was for me anyways, I'm Windurstian....might be different for San'Dorian people..)

The +2 Dex is nice, but with the Beak Mantle +1 at level 58 you get Def: 9, Vit: 2, +7 vs. Earth
I still have not decided which I will get.
*Note: This is from a Paladins viewpoint. I am not aware of its effectiveness for other jobs.

Definatly worth it.
DEX+2 is better than DEF+3 and +7 Earth.
Reason I say this is that DEX affects the ability to hit the baddie, to deal criticals and to reduce criticals delt to you. PLD's have notoriously low DEX, so improving it +2 is noticable. +3 def is barely noticeable, as I've got 500+ def fully buffed, and I'm not even 58.
The Earth resist really shouldn't be a factor... If I am ever saved by my current +17 resistance to earth, when something like barstonera gives +50(?) resistance, then I'd be shocked.

if you're from bastok, then you can purchase it by trading your conquest points to the same people who give you signet.
if you're from san d'oria or windurst, first your country has to be higher in region influence than bastok
ex. sylph region influence right now has san d'oria and windurst tied at 1. and bastok at 3.
this means that san d'orian and windurstian people can now go to bastok or a consulate if they're in jeuno or another country and purchase it for double the amount regularly. so yes you can purchase it, but there is a huge trade-off on CQ points and i honestly think it's not worth it because CQ points are harder to gain than gil and the fact that you cannot even sell it after.

Can't you get this at the bastok consulate in san d'oria if you're not a bastokian. It just costs you more conquest points then if you were from bastok!

This is 6 def, 6 hp, 2 vit, 2 dex.
Honestly, it's quite a toss up. Personally, I would think that the difference in Def would make the Sandorian one better for a Paladin. *shrug*

I'd take 6hp 2vit 2dex over 3def 2mnd 2str anyday. If you take the base stat adjustments into consideration the Republican actually gives 7 def, not to mention that 2vit does more for damage intake than 2 def. The rest is personal preference. As a san d`orian paladin I'll just stick to my beak mantle +1.

But the 2 MND=better heals for PLD and the 2 STR=a lil bit more DMG, making it better for paladin (or any other melee class, unless you need the dex cuz you can't hit worth ass) in my opinion.
I would say this mantle far out beats any other. It is well known that post 55-60 VIT becomes far more important then DEF, as you have already reached a sort of cap with ur def, where it would take a huge amount of DEF to lower dmg a few points. That is why you see plds paying sometimes 100's of K to get and extra +1 VIT, because lowering the overall dmg it can do will in turn lower the damage curve, hence you will get hit for less since ur def has reached a pinnacle

But this Mantle is the "EX" item. So it aren't.
