So your saying the +1 gear is not good for thfs? I've got a 32 thf and LS tells me Noct would be best for SATA. Is this true? Please help me understand more and thank you for info.
This is a bit late, but what you really want is Merc Captain's Doublet, not Noct Doublet. SA is affected by DEX, TA by AGI, so to boost your SATA you want +DEX and +AGI. Noct Doublet has neither of those. Merc Captain's Doublet has +1 to both. That's what you want to be using.
Its nice because of the ranged accuracy but for pt'ing thfs you dont use the xbow all that much (though you should it helps) but the Noct Brais +1 gives +2 dex and ranged accuracy and theres another pieice that gives +2 agi i believe the head piece along with some ranged accuracy which isnt bad since you get SATA at 30 but truthfully theres better gear our there but as for the Noct Brais +1's ehh one of the best pieces for about 17 lvls or so and some thf's use them even longer but imo the legs are worth it not sure about the rest though.
Surprised to see so many posts complaining about the price of the noct+1 set. If you're playing RNG and you find yourself having to seriously consider whether or not to invest this set as you approach level 30, then I've only one thing to say to you:
Find another job to play.
I'm not saying this because this gear is incredibly awesome and anybody who doesn't have it is not worth partying with. Rather, I'm saying it because the price of a full set of Noct+1 is about the same as you'll have to spend on ammo alone in the space of just one level once you get past level 65 or so. Sure, you could skip this gear - even though it is clearly the best RNG gear for hand, body and leg slots for the next twenty to thirty levels - but if you find this kind of price tag unpalettable, you're in the wrong job.
With regard to the gear itself - it's very decent and more than worth the money. The combined effect of this and dual archers/hawkers knives pretty much transforms RNG at level 30. I used the +1 body until I got AF1 body at level 58. I used the +1 legs until AF1 legs (which aren't really much better). The next gloves to be clearly better than Noct+1 gloves for RNG are the Scout's Bracers. Yes, AF2. The ones that drop in Dynamis Windurst. Go figure.
Its a good thing i bought my set of +1 early (minus the shoes and the hat) With all this +1 gear (body+hands+legs) Leaping boots and Empy pin....ITS GREAT 8D But any hoo... I got the +1 lvl 35 +R.Acc rings and that gun...Serpentine...In total, just for XP i get +52 Ranged acc(including knives n neclace) and well, I can say this much: I HATE BEETLES! Bullets hit hard on bats n crawlers, but not beetles ;_; As for The Werm Terns BCNM thingy, hehe...oh man...it was gross, BUT you do hit alot more...the worm however is random on its Draw in. It was like a game of red rover. Everyone took damage, but saving grace were the 2blm and bard. He will draw in EVERYONE! from anywhere, we even rested at the circle, and mysteriously...the taru vanishes and his meter raped. So all in all This gear is the greatest, i wont waste my precious bullets w/o it.
On Unicorn the full set goes for just over 200k. I finally reached level 30rng/15thf and got my set. I even bought the hat and boots cuz I'm too poor to afford emp pin and leaping boots.
Everytime my LS complain I give them a: "Welcome to Fairy!" sign. I'm planning to get the body and legs for my THF(30) and/or RNG(21). If this helps in ballista on lvl 30 with THF I'm planning to spend the 350k for both pieces of armor(maybe hands later when RNG is lvl to 30 but for the mean time Custom Gloves FTW!)
could someone tell me how much the set goes for on pandemonium. or if someone could get the whole +1 set i would trade my dibalo 2 us west non ladder acct with a mf sorc on it for the whole set.
Well, soon after deciding to go RNG/SAM at lv 24 one of my mid-level RNG friends decides to quit the game, and gives me alot of his stuff: Emp Pin, Lepaing Boots, all of the Noct+1 set, Great Bow+1, and an *** load of arrows.
I guess you could say i got lucky, i didnt have to farm to get all this gear, giving me alot oftime to level quickly ^^ and not have to stop for too much farming ^^.
wow....rip off (sylph), on bahamut: Doublet +1 - 60k~ gloves +1 - 40k~ pants +1 - 50k~ gaiters +1 - 30k~ beret +1 - 30k~ full set - 210k~ as for me tho i didnt buy the gaiters (feet) or beret, the other 3 i got ^^
EDIT: pheonix doesnt seem too bad but 300-400k O.O
I think the only reason to buy the +1 version of this armor is for BCNMs. careful, though. if you do BCNM 40 "the worms turn" as a rng, the more accuracy you get, the more you will hit franz. the more you hit franz, the more he will pull you in. he may start pulling you in before you can get a shot off. if he pulls you in before you get a shot off, then you arent hitting him as much as you were before you bought the Noct gear.
I havent bought any of this gear yet, mostly cause I dont have a BCNM pt lined up anytime soon. but when i do, I plan on buying the regular stuff to see how much it helps/hurts.
also, lvl 30 gear usually has lower def than lvl 40 gear. may not be a problem if you go rng/nin, but might be if you lose you shadows.
ok. I think im done rambling. If anyone uses the full +1 set for BCNM 40 "the worms turn" let me know how you feel it helps/hurts. you might not think that the difference is considerate enough to warrent spending about 300K-400K for the whole set.
ok...now im done rambling... ^^

if you are a ranger, then the +1 set should be the minimal of your gear in any party, not just BCNMs. the full set doesn't cost that much and not taking advantage of the extra ranged acc. is just foolish. saves arrows, saves money, indirectly more damage overall which of course slightly increases exp/hour. going into any kind of party with anything less is just being rediculously gimp over fairly cheap items.
ill agree that you should try to be equipped to the best of your ability, but please remember that not having all the sweet new stuff in a full set of +1 doesnt make you a gimp.
remember, this stuff didnt used to exist. and RNG were still sweet sweet DD then.
there are alternatives to this set that can make you almost as good. some better depending on race. just not really a great alternative to the body piece.
for example, i am an elvaan, i will be wearing my RSE feet and legs equipment instead of the noct +1 set. but, im getting more than enough Racc + from my bone rings +1 and archer's knives, which is my alternative.
this set is not the be all end all, not having it doesnt make you a gimp. its nice, but some of the pieces arent worth getting the +1 or even choosing the noct stuff over other things.
what i was really trying to get at, is that the price shouldn't be that big of an issue. this set is really ranger gear, and many of these posts are complaining about the prices. if cost is really such a big issue on a set that doesn't cost all that much. gl to you on making it as a ranger.
well, I checked the price again. over the past few days, the price has dropped to about 215K for the set.
the fun part of looking at prices was watching the number of mages gloves up for sale skyrocket. they used to be 110K-120K, and now they are selling for 30K. gotta love new armor.

Wow 300-400K for the set? On Phoenix we pay ~200K for the entire +1 set:p, from reading various posts, Phoenix sells everything cheaper... may just be me though.
