The entrance to this Carpenter's Landing is to the right of the Outpost on the map. It's a small entrance inside the mountain.
Once inside the landing head left and just kind-of go straight. There will be a room with a ??? ontop of a mushroom thing with beetles around it.
Trade the 3 shrooms to it and pop the NM..
Killed the NM with 1 WS on 75 THF 1/1 on gloves.

Scholar can where these too, just an old pic. Went 1/3 easy fight as 69blm. ??? pops around every 15 mins. Good hunting.
I went with my friend to get this, I was lvl 46 whm/thf(15) and he was lvl 38 drk/thf(15). The first time, we died since I went in cocky, so my mp was half way, and my friend got one shot by Mycophile's Dark Spore attack. We went to try again, this time keeping the aggro on me since I was higher level, and just kept my stoneskin on, which ate up the Dark Spore attack, and also I have the Holy Breastplate. Doing it that way made the battle rather easy. Beat him twice and got 2 pairs of these gloves right away, I guess having 2xTH1 helped :) And we both had the 4-leaf mandys.

First tried to solo the NM on a 45 RDM. It wasn't an easy fight, he died when I had 0 MP and 60 HP with bio on... fortunately it wore and I got drop first time. That was Fall 05.
Tried them again yesterday/today, easy to duo on 58 RDM and 51 BRD. Did the same spells (enfeebles, en spells, minor nukes), and 0/5 so far.
His casting, mushroom order, and our spells haven't made any difference. =/ I think it's pure luck.

I was browsing Allakazham recently, and came across these. I remember seeing these a long time ago in my early whm career and wanting them badly, funnily enough i woulda gotten destroyed by Mycophile when i first wanted these, so I decided to wait.
Silly old me then completely forgot about them, and have sinced leveled 2 jobs high enough to totally own this guy.
I went down as pld/thf (lvl 60) and fough this guy 5 times, eventually getting the drop on the 5th. At lvl 60 this guy is a pushover, but even with TH his drop rate isnt excellent. I'd reccommend bringing a stack of each shrooms just in case.

Went 3/5 today, didnt really care about it casting spells or anything, drop rate seems to be okay.

I was in exp pt not too long ago in Aydeewa subterrane and managed to get hate while we were fighting a puktrap. It floated over to me long enough to be intimidated by my presence. None of my other gear had any kind of plantoid killer effect. Considering the origin of these gloves I assume that its possible that they have plantoid killer as a hidden effect. I guess no one noticed it before since its a whm pc of equipment and whm rarely have hate, and there arent alot of plantoid mobs out there. I could be wrong but something i had intimidated the puktrap and nothing i had equipped had any kind of killer effect. Has anyone else noticed this at all?
I'm not *sure* but I think that if you had eaten a ginger cookie, they give the effect of Plantoid Killer. From what you described, that sounds likely....

Me, my bro and a ls friend went out to get one each today. Got one about every three kills, so luckier drops than some of the other guys here.
Saw someone who had these gloves the other day in Garliage, immediately wanted them. I asked about them in my ls but no one knew anything about them so I looked them up here and how to spawn the NM then recruited my roomate (35 whm, I was 40 war) and went to spawn this mob. Figured I could take it if my roomate healed me so we spawned it and had it about half dead when it used silence gas for about 350 damage to me and killed me. It then easily killed my roomate pretty quickly once his stoneskin wore off.
Decided to try it again but this time we got the help of a friend in one of my ls's (Once again thank you Eskil) who was a 48 (I think, was /anon) nin. Get back to Carpenter's landing and spawn it and kill it easily and got drop. My roomate and I lot on it and of course my roomate won XD so we wait and spawn again...nothing. Ended up by the time I got my pair we were 2/6 on kills. Only took about an hour and a half total to get my roomate and me a pair, which if you ask me is worth the time spent on them cause they are a really nice pair of gloves to own if you're leveling blm and whm, which I am currently doing. ^^

i'm BLM24 and i can't wait for these. i'm using black equipment and i didn't bother to get the gloves because of these and my friend promised to help me get them.

yeah, me and 2 friends just got these for me. he cast Bio and we still got the drop. i think you just had ALOT of coinsidences
Well, I remember I decided to finally get these nice gloves, so I went out on my 75 brd/thf, figured the TH1 would be nice for the drop.
So I went in to Carpenters' Landing, spawned the NM with the 3 mushrooms.
I remember he casted poison and I think one other spell. I remember because I was shocked I didnt resist them lol x.x
But I still got the drop in the end even though he had casted the spells on me.

66 WHM and 24 BLM owned it hard, cuffs first drop.

Well, yesterday I went to solo this badboy to get these. Lvl 44 blm cant do it, just so you all know! Oh well I hp and went and shouted in Jeuno for about 5 minutes before I got a tell from a 60 blm and 4 whm. We all went and buffed up.
I had all the shrooms to trade (11of each). I traded and we nuked the hell outta Mycophile. DROP!!!!

Found these gloves listed for whm when I was trying to outfit my in-game wife's lvl 25 whm. The quest seemed easy enough, so I took a shot.Bought one stack of each shroom, cost about 20-25k.
Went first time solo, as pld60/thf15. (Yes for Treasure Hunter) Found the ??? easily enough, buffed up on Protect III/Shell III and traded the shrooms. NM popped. Goddamn this thing was easy! Got him down to 1/2 HP, used Vorpal Blade, dead. Lost maybe 80-100HP total. But no drop. So I waited for the timer, killing every Shrieker I could find. Went back, with 300TP this time. Popped the ???, and raped the NM. Got the drop! wOOt! But as it's rare/ex, couldn't trade. That's ok, I'd like to level my whm one day, these will come in handy if for nothing else than the -2 enmity.
Had a ton of shrooms, asked LS if anyone wanted to take a stab. Lvl 51 rdm came down, wanting the gloves for her whm. Same drill, only this time I lined up behind the NM with Sneak Attack/Vorpal Blade. Fight was over before we began. But no drop. Waited and did it a 2nd time, drop. Now 2/4.
My in game wife, Meowphttphtt (drk60/war30) comes on, we ride out, get to the spot, clear the room for fun and TP, popped the NM again. Total destruction. And drop on the 1st try. =)
All told, 3/5 on drop, two very happy whm's with new toys, and another NM on the list. If you need these, or a whm/blm/smn needs these, give it a spin. Should be no trouble at all.

Me and my friend who was 60+ Thf went out to Carpenter's Landing. We cleared the room and popped Mycophile. It was a piece of cake. We got the cuffs on first try and warped out.

I got it on my first try. Easy to kill with 73 sam :P Just a gekko and a few whacks. Nice gloves ^^

Went in as high level smn and carby owned its weak ***, Carby ended up dying of the plague that Mushroom spit it its face. But lets not forget this is war, there will be casualties.

Went as SAM75/THF37. It took about 200 hp from me total, dark spore did about 125 dmg. I finished it off with Tachi: Kasha when it was at about 15%.
1/1 on the drop too.

well on the third Mycophile run for me, we got the drop..
First two times averaged about 3 hours and 0/9.. Third run got the drop on 2nd kill.
Lineup was for first 2, 65PLD and 42BLM, third run had an additional PLD lvl 50 too.. Not that it mattered, I am sure I could solo this thing with BLM/NIN.
These cuffs are made for the Taru BLM. I would GLADLY sacrifice the 1 INT loss from Seers Mitts+1 for the -2 Enmity... Anyday. especially at this level -Enmity is far and few between...
Shout outs to Rilos and Omeo for the help, I owe you guys a pair of oven mitts.

So we started with 4 "LS members" killed 3 no drop, 1 of them left. then did we kill 3 (6) no drop the 2 others left, that Leaves me "56WAR/28NIN" alone agenst this prick! :) got them at 1/7 haha :) killed it closed my eyes and BANG there they are easy prey :)
