Got my Cleric's Briault today. Things were looking grim but it finally dropped about 2/3 of the way through the run. This armor i sgreat if your a whm like me. I use regen spells like crazy so that i can conserve mp for tanks and anyone stealing hate. although the "increased potency" of regen spells is not much every little bit helps. i'm 3/5 on AF2 now and not sure of when i'll be getting the rest as i spent most of points to lot this baby. oh well its worth it, especially if your too cheap to buy a nobles.

Our 1st week Brd Afv2 drop'd & 2th week 'Woot' guess what? It drops! I lot 988 & I got this lucky piece of gear. I love it as Tarutaru White mage. W/o Food & a Healing staff m/p is 1298.. btw.. We almost got the win that run too. Rofl we'll try again Tuesday. Tonite is Kirin. GL^^ on this Rare piece of Gear. I hope all Whm's get this 1

I got one of these yesterday from snow. The stats are actually a bit better than those of the Noble's Tunic. It gives a little bit more MP and it has Emnity -2 on it whereas the Noble's Tunic has none. In the long run, the Noble's is a better piece because of the Cure Potency + 10%, but Regen Potency increase is also a useful stat to have.
Between the 2, the Noble's is way down in price right now (4.1 M on Sylph) and the Cleric's Briault requires snow access and a waiting list of white mages drooling over the piece of armor, I would say that its probably easier to get the Noble's Tunic, but if you can get the Cleric's Briault, you'll have an overall equivalent piece of armor and its free. Also, this armor looks PIMP :)

i would have to say whm are a pretty big threat... if all whm quit there would be no healers... and no healers = death... yea u would have rdm but rdm cant to near what a whm can. ^^
Yeah a rdm can, whms can easily be replaced at end game levels. Sad but it is true, we have no real advantages over a rdm at that point.
That's why SE is cranking up the job with the new expansion, new abilities and what not, only time will tell what they do.

Rdm have no repsect for the cure spell. they will burn a cure IV when a cure III will suffice. Not to mention that when it comes to PLD's a regen III allows them to do what they do best. Take hits and Cure themsleves. Honestly if your not taking advantage of Regen III by level70, you dont deserve a party. I would also like to see a rdm raise III someone. I'm usually tempted to walk right past a dead person when they have no whm in the party.

Thank you for saying that. I feel quite sad whenever I see people claim that RDM can easily replace WHM in end game. WHM gets no respect at high level.... ;_; And we worked just as hard if not more to achieve where we get, only to be dismissed? >< That just doesn't sound right to me.... I'm so tempted to write down all the people that picked RDM over WHM cause they think we're replaceable, and when running past their corpse I'd laugh and move on without giving them a R3. But my WHM mentor says no. XDDDD
This armor is one of the best pieces for a WHM. Not only does it have great stats, but it is free and looks awesome. It isn't better than the Noble's Tunic, because of the Cure Potency +10% that is gives, but it boosts the Regen Potency and gives Refresh (1 MP per tick). If you had this and a Noble's Tunic you could also macro them out when casting Cure or Regen on a team mate so you would have the full effect. Also, if you for some reason decide to quit WHM and have a Noble's Tunic to sell, you could use this armor and then you would have a good piece of armor to replace the Noble's Tunic. I think that every WHM lv 65+ should try to get Dynamis - Beaucedine access to try to get on of these. This, in my opinion, is one of the best items a WHM could go after.

for those who are in asura .. fayth of "machina" ls has this beauty.
This is without a doubt the crown jewel of the WHM AF2 set. That's not to diminish the other AF peices as I think The pantaloons, the duckbills and the cap have very good stats.
Refresh effect is 1 mp / 3 sec or 20 mp per minute
Regen potency up works as follows
Regen 1 = 5+1hp per tick = 120hp (20 bonus)
Regen 2 = 12+2hp per tick = 240hp (40 bonus)
Regen 3 = 20+3hp per tick = 460hp (60 bonus)
All Regen spells last 1 minute or 20 ticks.

I do like the way you have broken it out, but I did notice a slight inconsistency:
"Regen 1 = 5+1hp per tick = 120 (20 bonus)"
Here you include the bonus in the total (5x20 + 1x20) = 120
"Regen 2 = 12+2hp per tick = 240hp (40 bonus)"
Here you exclude the bonus from the total (12x20 = 240, 2x20 = 40, total = 280)
Regen 3 returns to the 1st way, where the bonus is included in the total.
So, I guess it should look like this in the end:
Regen 1 = 100hp base + 20hp bonus
Regen 2 = 240hp base + 40hp bonus
Regen 3 = 400hp base + 60hp bonus

Although way after the fact, it's worth mentioning for the sake of correct information, that Regen 1 lasts for 25 ticks(unlike the other 2) and returns 125 HP base, and gets an extra 25 from the Briault.

I got this lastnight and IMO this is by far the most sexy looking peice of gear for any job any type even more-so then Noble Tunic. It was our 3rd dynamis-beaucedine runa and it dropped off a Vanguard Priest.

Just wondering is the adds "refresh" like auto refresh or the refresh spell??? there is a big deifference between the two... one heal 1/3sec and the other heals 3/3sec and does this ability stack with smn auto refresh and rdm refresh?
i can see it nwow O_O 3+1+3+1+2 with whm/smn rdm and brd in group at that lvl whooo hooo!! 10mp/3 sec bows down before this piece of gear and crys..

it is like the vermillion cloth. Auto refresh is same as the SMN auto refresh. It does stack with rdm refresh and smn auto refresh
My question is equiping this on regen macro, and then change to noble tunic does regen III go back to normal? Or is it like Bard instruments?
Regen Potency Up. Who cares up how much? Sure, only 3 hp/tick for Regen III doesn't sound like much, but multiply by duration and then look at the MP cost on Regen III.
for regen you get +1hp/per 3sec
regen II -> +2hp/per 3sec
regen III -> +3hp/per 3sec
regen II -> +2hp/per 3sec
regen III -> +3hp/per 3sec

That can't be true. My Regen II gives 12 HP per 3 seconds.
I think he means what this armor does addition to what it is without the armor.

Is this a piece of g-d gear I would like to know or is it just the AF set 2 for whm or both?

Given that the average Dynamis raid is incredibly mage-heavy (it's their job to destroy the statues as quickly as possible), lotting for mage AF is HARD, if you are even allowed to. Respect the people with this gear. It obsolesces Vermillion and the Holy Breastplate in one piece of equipment.

Actually, it still has less DEF than the Holy Breastplate. Not to say that it's worse, by any means. This is an awesome piece of equipment that I hope to get... eventually... Only WHM70 now though so might be a while. ^^

i have seen the full set of armor on a japanese 75 WHM on Odin. looks EXACTLY like whm af besides a few diffs like designs same color same basic design
