Mission OrdersWalkthroughBefore you can get this mission, you need to have obtained some crystals to boost your standing. The guard sends you to La Theine Plateau to receive some rescue training. To get there go to the sw corner of West Ronfaure and zone into La Theine Plateau. Go to E-6 and speak with the NPC (Galaihaurat) He can be found on you map under the Eastern tree of the three trees shown in E-6 grid of your map; he will point in the direction of the ravine. Go to the right side of the ravine and speak with the NPC there. Then follow the train south and talk to the soldiers you see there. They tell you that a soldier named Ruillont is lost in Ordelle Caves and give you directions on how to get there. Zone into Ordelle and Ruillont should be just to the left. He tells you that he lost his sword. Go back to the soldiers and get him a new one (random soldier has the sword). Trade it to Ruillont and go speak with Vicorpasse (outside the cave) to receive your "Rescue Training Certificate" (you must have the certificate to complete the quest). oh yeah when i say left i mean go left a follow the rock wall till you get to a slope that goes up a level :)

OK for those having the 'I Cant Find the NPC to talk to' Problem, i had the same problem, none of the guards in the crater would give it to me so i looked around abit, there is an NPC outside of crater turn to left and go up a ramp to a set of walls at the end of one these walls there is an NPC i spoke to him out of pure desperation and he gave me the sword! the sword givers arnt limited to the crater heh

I've talked to all the guards in canyon after talking to Ruillont, none of them seem to have it. Can't figure out what is wrong.

basically these are the steps you need to take.
1. go to the gate guard to accept the "rescue drill" mission.
2. go to La Theine Plateau; find f6 on the map and there should be a lower section you can go down from mountain. just follow the trail of the guards.
fyi: once you go down there the only mob you have to be careful of is the poison funguar. move around them if possible. if the area is too tight just wait and have patience till they move out.
3. once down there go talk to the captain. his name: Vicorpasse. he's the only one in white armor. he'll tell you to go look for him.
4. go into the cave. dont worry ..bats and crabs wont attack you. stay on your left and go into the first left ..Ruillont will be in there behind an ice rock. talk to him. he sends you to get his sword. what a lame ***..
5. go all the way back (dodging those funguses) and talk to Deaufrain which is one of the guards passed the captain on ur way back (up the slope). he gives you the sword.
6. go back to Ruillont inside the cave. trade him the sword. he sends you to the captain. captain says yes ..blah blah blah. gives you a certificate.
7. bring the certificate back to the gate gaurd.
and ur done.

The Wasps don't aggro (they're relatively easy, anyway, at least compared to the rest of the stuff in the valley/cave). The fungasaurs can be passed if you stick to the ledges (kind of hard to do, but it works). The guy you need to talk to is in the first big room in the cave, off to the left (there's a guy right in front of you, but he's not it); gobs normally spawn in the later chambers, so unless someone has been chased out, there shouldn't be any in here. The bats don't aggro, but they link and are a pain for anyone under 16 or so.
When you finish, you have to talk to the captain to get the cert. He's more towards the bottom of the ramp (there's a second NPC right near by).

the valley you need to head to is F-6 for those who still can't find it. Just look on your map n line up the letters/numbers. GL

HAH i did this at lvl 11 and only died once. I'm a big fan of Metal Gear games and well...i just put that knowledge to practice lol, basically i just ran around hopin to god some funguar didn't see me :-)

None of the NPCs will give me his sword

I think the guard who has the sword is random. A friend and I did this quest together. I got the sword from a guy down by the caves, but he had to go all the way back to the first guard.

i tried everything i talked to everyone...he told me to get =the swordso i ran back out side and talkedto all the guards again and they just kept saying (guys name) dont know nething about the sword... but the dude in the cave told me to get it..please ne advice would be great..

You can sneak around and do this mission because I made it to the guy my first try at lv 13 but I didn't get his sword to him yet. I didn't know where to get it.

made it.. Equesobillot has the sword (once you talk to the trapped fellow)... and Vicorpasse has the cert once you get the sword to the fellow...

Yes, you CAN do it by sneaking. The NPC you need is behind a rock that's in the water to the left as you enter the first big room. If you got to the high lvl goblins, you went too far.

F6 is the map coordinate in which the ravine containing the Cave of Ordelle is in. There is a ramp that leads down into the ravine. At the top of the ramp there is an NPC. There are also NPC's down in the ravine.

Don't listen to anyone that says you can 'sneak' around and do this quest, I tried at level 12 and although I did sneak past the fungus, once you get down into the cave its loaded with goblins that con 'very tough' at level 12 and there is no way possible to 'sneak around' them ..you will die. do it with a group or wait until at least 16

I was careful and avoided everything, went and talked to the guy, went and tried to get the sword, returned it, and ended up showing 3 more people where to go, so in essecence (sp?) did it 3 times as a level 10.

jes did the quest as lvl 10 :P the first npc is off the path to the left by a stone fence at e-7 (his names starts with a 'G' i can't recall it at the moment) then go in the direction he points, and circle around that gorge untill u see another npc, he'll tell you to go into the gorge, and all u need to do is follow the obvious path to the cave :P

It's fairly easy. Just go into the 'Canyon' where all of the NPCs are, and talk to each one in turn as you continue along the canyon floor. Eventually, you'll come to a cave, where it's winter on the inside. Head to the left when you get in, and you'll find the guy you have to 'save' for this quest. When you talk to him, he requests his sword, so he can fight his way out. Go back to the beginning of the canyon, and talk to the last (or first, depending on how you want to look at it) NPC before you exit the canyon. He'll give you the guy's sword, then go back to the snow cave and give it to him, THEN go back out and talk everybody on your way out, one of them will give you the certificate.

Actually do not give crystals, just do enough missions to get 2.25 or more rank points and he will give you the mission. (I did the Save the children 2 times instead of just once and got enough)

You can do any mission twice, just ask the guard that gives out missions to do it again!
the knight in white armor near the entrance to the ravine. I think his name is Victorpasse or somethin like that. He gives you a rescue certificate which you take back to San d'Oria.

I'm on Mission 4, I got the bronze sword, I gave it to the sodier but the NPCs still respond to me as though I hadden't given it to him? Can someone describe every step of this mission plz?

And you get the sword from the NPC near the path that pointed towards the vally

I am doing this quest as I write this. The 1st npc(E-6) is right near the path after you leave West Ronfaure. He points to the vally(F-6/7) From their you talk to one NPC after another until you reach a cave(Ordelle's cave). Their you will find the final NPC. And yes, im lvl 16 and the fungus is a bit hard but are solo able.
at level 12, as well as the next one... Davoi Report I believe it is. This one is easy if you're patient and wait for the enemies to move out of aggro range. You can run on the little ledges of the ravine to stay max distance. I didn't get aggro once, although I had to wait a few minutes for the roamer bee to move a couple times. Totally doable as long as you have the rank points to get the mission.
It's not mininum level 16, you can do it soon as you get high enough rank points. 2.25 ranks should suffice, but it's those damn fungus critters. I'v died 3 times to them trying to get past them. You either need to be around 16th solo, or have a party of 6.

Like the guy said theres a dude in E-6... go to him he says go down the ravine to take the mission. Then theres another guy and he'l point you down farther, then theres another guy that said help we've lost a guy help us find him. It's actually easy but when i got to the third guy some fungus things killed me so I dunno.... but once you find the guy in e-6 it's easy chease.
You gotta go talk to the guy at the ordelle caves first before anyone will give you a sword.
