http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Image:Bea.jpg sorry linking to different site.

This mob can be time nuked from up top if you get into the right place, which is all the way around to the dead end. Cast cure on the mob to make sure you're in the right place. 3 Thunder IV did it for us, but 2 of our BLM were out of place or we would have had 5. This lets you skip the orcs and the evil MNK NMs that normally had killed our PLD with their 2h making us wipe. Kewitt of ForceProtection on Alexander! 10:15, 20 November 2008 (MST)

I did my first Dynamis run last night for the Beaucidine area and I was pretty excited. Going through the entire Dynamis - B, I must say that it was definately cooler then the standard city fights. Losts of running around but man, if you have a well oiled machine of a Dynamis shell, everything seems to just fall in place. I pretty much just did the "Shut up and listen" aproach cause I knew nothing about this zone so I found someone and just clung to them the entire time.

To expand my learning of this area, I have a question to ask that maybe some of you can answer. At the end of the dynamis run, we were all standing on the edge of the cliff where Fei'yin would be. We were about to fight the Boss NM. Well, I really wasnt paying attention cause I got a phone call so I never saw the chat log about not moving while they were doing the pull. Well, I acidentally dropped my beer bottle on my keyboard (lol...) and like moved two steps; and of course recieved alot of party chat about not moving. What's the point in not moving? I want to understand this run a little better so inform me on why I everyone at the cliff should stand still?
AF drops

My shell on Kujata has done this dynamis quite a lot and we have usually gotten 3-4 AF drops per run on this one. Our last run 2 Duelist Tabards dropped in a span of about 20 minutes (One of which now belongs to me).

Each mob you kill in this zone has a chance to drop the Duelist Tabard. Getting Af v.2 armor is a complete crap shoot most of the time in the Northlands.

Teh LS I go with has seen maybe 3-4 of that particular piece in a year of doing runs.

SPOILERS - DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE UP TO ZM4!

OK, I have a question about this zone. If my memory serves me correctly (and it may not), this area and Xarc[tab] were full of plants, trees, etc, but the landscape was changed to the barren snow drifts when the Tonberries attempted to destroy the craigs.

If the SL was not defeated in the Dynamis plane of existence, wouldn't these areas be as they were before the destruction of the craigs here? Wouldnt "the glacier" actually support trees and other plantlife? It seems Dynamis-Beaucedine is still a snowy landscape.

You're referring to the Kuluu?

Chronologically, the Crystal War occurred 20 years before our characters became full-fledged adventurers. Tonberries are part of the Rise of Zilart story arc, where they attempted to destroy the gateway to paradise many hundreds of years ago, so beaucedine had become a glacier way before the Crystal War even began. Aside from Tavnazia and Qufim, the geography of Vana Diel in the first story has stayed consistant throughout the war.

In my LS, we usually get 4-5 AF2 drops in Dynamis-X.

We barely ever get one from Beaucy, alot of times 0. Even on farming runs, Beaucy mobs do not drop AF2 hardly ever...

Your best shot at getting AF2 is by killing the Hydras, as they have a *slightly* higher drop rate. Otherwise, the mobs won't ever drop it.

Um... I figured I'd take the time to notify, that by no means is Dynamis-Beaucedine connected to Xarcabard. There are NO zonelines in any of the dynamis.

besides.. in theory, the 'only' way to get here is in Beaucedine Glacier.. so. XD. I have NO clue why people would, but don't comb through Xarcabard searching every nook and cranny to search for this zone. Because as far as Xarcabard is concerned, this zone doesn't exist.

RE: Artifact or Relic?

According to SE in a recent statement, the JSE armor levels 52-60 is designated as Artifact Gear. How can you tell? Try to retreive it from storage NPC and see what category it is listed under.

The commonly know AF2 that is dropped in the dynamis zones is officially called Relic Gear.

During the version update they clearly said "items will be obtained and used to upgrade existing relic armor dropped in the previous dynamis areas."

I'll be running the Glacier for the first time, came to see some board action and I get a debate on "is it called relic or AF2?" LOL
Well, funny that no one brought this up...
You get your Artifact Weapon first- then have the chance to acquire your Artifact armor- that's right I said Artifact... and it never calls the armor artifact, players dubbed it so. So it shall be :-)
And then...
You go to Dynamis for Uber versions of job specific gear- but what's it called?
Well... the weapon this time is called your "Relic Weapon" that drops, Makes it simple... players dubbed the gear Relic Armor.
so there u have it...
Artifact Weapon >> Artifact Armor
Relic Weapon >> Relic Armor
and the last 2 titles do not exist, but make sense. So please... call it Relic ok? avoid the confusion..
Ex:
Been on Dynamis runs- still no Relic Armor for me ;(
hahaha

So we got a person who is bring Gilsellers into Dynamis on Cait sith named Ryudo. They are trying to sell currency for 50k per single unit and 5mil per 100 unit. Well I guess Relic weapons will become harder to get if you plan on buying currency from these FOOLS.

by the way...

THIS IS STUPIDITY!

Considering if your going to sell them for that much why buy it when EVERY ONE ELSE sells for 15k??????????????????? Really its pretty stupid

Jump on the band wagon if your on cait sith!

DO NOT BUY OVER PRICED MONEY

chances are they are being sold by gilseller mules and/or Ryudo's henchmen.

Alright here's how it goes... it's all AF. Some people call it relic, some don't... it doesn't matter. The proper names for the armor are as follows:
50-60 JSE = Artifact Armor
70+JSE = ANCIENT Artifact Armor

then there is the lvl 40~ Artifact Weapon
and the Weapon Skill unlocking Relic Weapon at lvl 75
blah
# Jun 11 2005 at 12:35 PM Rating: Default
as far as relic and af. no 70+ af isn't relic. as appropriate as it might sound. . its not. and why is also confusing is that everyone is using the exact same words. its more along the lines of AF "set" 2. its a whole nother "set". but. ehh, i get tired of trivial arguements :P

might as well take a ton of mystery out of this zone.

there are 3 types of runs you can do here.
1.) boss clear run
2.) af2 farming run
3.) attestation run

in general with some experience in the zone and a good team, you can mix af2 farming with either the boss clear or the attestation run. It's possible to even get some attestations and clear the boss in one run, however, it requires a really good performance from everyone to pull this off. the main reason you usually can only do one or the other is the time limit and the size of the map.

1.) boss run - there are 10 timer mobs in the map that each give 15 minutes (8 statues and 2 eyes). the 8 statue timers are all up from the start, the 2 eye timers have to be popped by killing other eyes in the shadow area. the two eye extensions arent really worth getting unless you are going for attestations, as they will probably take more time to go out of the way to get them than you get back from killing them. the boss is up from the start. there are no triggers that need to be killed. when you get to the boss, the best technique to killing him is like this:

alliance gather off to the side of the ramp leading down to feiyin, safely away from aggro range. nobody rest during the pull. a pld stays at the mouth of the ramp. when everyone is ready, a thf runs up to feiyin, hits Perfect Dodge, runs right up to Angra to aggro him, hits Flee, then runs back south to the ramp. The 4 dragons spawn and all 5 chase after the thf. The pld needs to voke the eye once as it passes by going up the ramp. The eye will stop chasing the thf and start spamming debuffs on the pld (who should stand away from the alliance so they dont get debuffed, and also stand out of melee range from the eye so it only debuffs and doesnt melee, it doesnt move in to melee but will melee if you get next to it). The Thf now needs to keep running far away, training the dragons off with it. This means the whole alliance stands there and watches the eye spam the pld on the ramp for about 4-5 or more minutes until the thf gets to his designated target (we run them to the Battalia zone, some thfs run all the way to the Rangemont Pass zone). When there, the thf lets the ls know. At least one Bst or Smn sick their pet on the Eye, and everyone attack. The eye will warp after it takes a certain amount of damage, and the pets will follow it, so everyone else follow the pets. The dragons share hate with the eye, but its not like they get a percentage of the eyes hate. They get their hate reset to 0 whenever the eye warps, and they then set their focus on whatever is hitting the eye (so for example the pld can voke all day long and they wont turn, but after the eye warps from damage, they will). So as soon as the eye warps the first time, they will head back, but you should be able to kill the eye long before they get to you. The sac puller doesnt have to die, as if timed right, the dragons will turn back before they catch him. he should then follow them back to get the ??? as well. What to do with the dragons? Some people just warp out as soon as they win before they get back. Some people kill them when they get back, training the 3 they arent focusing on (never kill one before the eye is dead, or it will respawn when the eye warps). This lets you use your remaining time to farm af2 (the boss, however, doesnt give you any extra time). One thing to note, after the eye dies, move to the top of the ramp leading down to Feiyin to fight the dragons. The dragons have a huge aggro range, way beyond the distance you can see them, and if you wipe and reraise anywhere closer to Feiyin than the ramp, you will aggro them again. The dragons are weak to their opposite element btw blms (petro weak to wind, poison weak to thunder). These dragon's seem considerably harder than the Vanguard Dragons and Ying and Yang in Dynamis Xarcabard though, so its a good challenge to kill them all off (i'd estimate 15,000+hp each, compared to maybe 3000-5000 for vanguard dragons and 10,000ish for ying and yang's first form).

2.) af2 farming - hit as many timers as you can and uh, farm. there are plenty of rumors (and ive seen some solid evidence) of af2 having a higher probability of dropping off shadow mobs and the NM beastmen that pop from the statues around the 4 giant boss statues spread throughout the map, so you might want to target these mobs. from my experiance, the shadow mobs that pop with the attestation NM seem to always drop at least 1 AF2 per group of 6, often 2-3.

3.) attestation run - the attestations drop from 5 shadow NMs in the zone. Quiebitiel WHM/BLM/BRD (I-7 Tower, club, horn, or dagger), Dagourmarche DRG/BST/SMN (has 3 pets, including fenrir as his smn) (G-9 Tower, staff, axe, or lance), Velosareon DRK/RNG/SAM (J-8 Tower, scythe, bow, or great katana), Mildaunegeux NIN/THF/MNK (H-10 Tower, katana, gun, or knuckles), and Goublefaupe PLD/WAR/RDM (H-8 Tower, sword, great sword, or great axe, sometimes drops shield also with one of the weapons). They have 3 jobs and can use all 3 two hours (they can spam two hours more than once too, so Quiebitiel the WHM/BLM/BRD, for example, will benediction as often as it likes. you have to stun and save tp to kill it quick), and they spawn with 6 helper shadows, 2 of each job they have. To pop all 5 of these Shadow NM's, you have to go to the westernmost tower (F-7) and kill a trigger eye in the tower (tons of unsleepable shadow mobs all around here, so a long, multi-stage sac pull by a small assassin team is the best way to get there, say brd + 3 sam + a flee-er to lead the way, who then kill the trigger and drop glasses to re-enter at the beginning of the zone). When you kill him, the 5 NM's pop, one in each of the other towers across the map. Each one of these will drop an attestation for one of the weapons it's job can use. It's totally random as to which of the 3 attestation's it can drop actually will. The shadow mobs that link to the NM often drop AF2, so you can farm while doing this. Also, you can get up to 5 attestations per run if you kill all the NM's in time. If you look at the map though, you can see that time is really tight here, as you have to move all over the map. a well designed run can make this work though, as there are many ways a creative raid leader can kill timer's fast and maximize time in this map. i'll leave those up to you to find.

one thing im still unsure of is what the purpose of the 4 regular city dynamis bosses are in this map. they are all there, spread across the map. I dont know if they trigger anything. we killed the windy boss once, but i didnt notice anything different, although i didnt have much time to check.

*edit* edited again. was bored looking through old posts, and realized there is was a lot of inaccuracies in here that have since been cleared up :D

Those 4 city dynamis stones, i.e. Dynamis Icon (giant Yagudo replica), each prevent one of the Pukis dragons from being revived when Angra Mainyu warps (note: even if you defeat all 4 dynamis stones, the Pukis dragons will still spawn with Angra Mainyu, just they will stay dead if killed once). Each dynamis stone corresponds to a specific Pukis dragon (I do not know which stone corresponds to which dragon). Whenever my LS clears Dynamis-Beaucedine, we usually follow the same strategy but just drop our perpetual hourglasses after killing Angra Mainyu to bypass the whole dragon problem since these dragons do not drop anything.

I got the win for this Dynamis last week,
we had 3 alliances about 15 members per alliance.
This Dynamis shell is restricted to 70+, most were 75 or close. We have a PLD type tank in each party of each alliance when we do this.
Mobs are orcs, yagudos, quads, and those funny icon type? mobs. Boss is an Ahriman with 4 associated dragons Pukis. Expect to get wiped your first try, as the dragons will decimate you if the boss is provoked (dragons share hate of provoke ability on ahriman).

You guys, You guys!!!!

All of you are somewhat correct... Ill explain...

Relic - Relic is the AF2 (meaning +70 rare/ex gear) WEAPON, NOT ARMOR!!! There is no Relic body piece or Relic Gloves!!!

AF2 - Most refer to it as the second quest of your lvl's 50-60 AF gear, because most arent that high of level to be thinking of getting it. but those who have and do attempt to get it, refer to it as your Lvl 70+ rare/ex gear. The AF2 Weapon is..... THE RELIC PIECE!!!

When you do an Item lookup and you enter "Relic" the search brings up Weapons only!! when you search for Items by job You'll notcie NONE of your ARMOR (head, body, hands, legs and feet) have the word RELIC in it!

Hope that clears up your lil bickering match lol =D gald i can help! If you plan on correcting me please show proof and i will retract any statement made....

It's Relic Armor, not AF2. Just because it doesn't say in the name doesn't not make it relic armor. That's like me saying artifact armor isn't really that because where's the name? Last time I checked my Warlock's Tabard was still AF.

Relic includes the weapons AND armor found in Dynamis. The word artifact, old rare comes to mind, the word relic, even older and rarer lol. Ok bad analogy but this IS relic armor and not AF2.

The reason why this started in the first place is that people started nicknaming it the second set of artifact armor. Thus Artifact Armor 2. Though it's only a nickname and it's intended class is Relic Armor. I don't say AF2 cause it just confuses people just like it is now.

The Word Artifact it just means the piece of equipment is made only for one job. But is also Rare Ex.
Relic Is the Aftifact set #2 Equipment that is all.
