The best application of the heart snatcher IMHO, is with a ton of DEX (I'm at +52 with sushi) combined with Evisceration. This adds an excellent boost to your chance of crit hitting with the WS and more often than not, you'll out do DE and SB with it. I roll with the Blau Dolch/Heart Snatcher combo for murderous Eviscerations especially on colibri. I won't even switch to tp or att gear when fighting those birds. The major increase in crit hits alone draws hate from my regular melee attacks.

You are a moron. Heart Snatcher's Crit%+ is only for the Heart Snatcher, if you are offhanding it, it does not apply to your Blau and therefore not to your Eviscerations. NPC the stupid weapon.
Heart Snatcher is a good knife considering that the status of critical percentage is an increase of dex, but the delay on the dagger blows >.> Right now I have HS main and Sirocco off hand and its not a bad mix. lol Both are free, rare/ex and the drop rate on HB is easy, but Blau Dolch is the best main hand weapon regardless. Perseus Harp nor Mandau compares to the delay. and if you have sirocco off hand your looking at 328 delay from both put together. Blau Dolch is best main hand dagger and Heart Snatcher is just another thieves collection.
Heart Snatcher & Sirocco Kukri IMO is the best dps combo for the average player end game. Although someone with a Blau Dolch or Mandau would say otherwise, my outlook on this is strictly being the best affordable combo. Both are rare/ex and what you cant show in money, you can show in time dedicated to make a great build.
Obtain 500 Weapon Skill Points while Heart Snatcher is equipped in main hand.
Latent effect will afterwards be active even when weapon is equipped in off-hand.
Not all 500 points need be obtained in a single session. They may be obtained piecemeal over any period of time the player chooses.
For a solo Weapon Skill or opening any level Skillchain, you get 1 point. For closing a Level 1 Skillchain, you get 2 points. For closing a Level 2 Skillchain, you get 3 points. For closing a Level 3 Skillchain, you get 5 points.

The only real way to tell if you broke latent is that you do higher damage.
when i was closing SC most of the tiim it was exactly what my WS equaled to i did sharkbite for 845 light was for 845 this kept going every now and then it didnt do it, but that was rare so about uhh lets say 85% of the time it did: Closing WS=SC
At first I was pissed my RDM couldn't use this but then thought how over powering my RDM/NIN (or /WAR) could be with this thing plus my critical and STR merits/gear.
...Second thought, nah I'm still pissed my RDM can't use this. lol
I just unlocked mine today shortly after dinging 74, it took me about 30k EXP just to get it unlocked. We were exp'ing in the shrine, in sky-just about every 4th hit with my main would be a crit. It is a very nice dagger, if you put the time into removing the latent.
when i was a 67thf, i pt'd with a 68 mithra thf (68 is H.Harpe which is a huge boost in base damage 21->27). Idk if it was b/c im elvaan or what, but my melees were doin just as much damage per hit on the mob. 24 base damage is still pretty good, so if you're so afraid of slowing your tp build ever so slightly go nuts and main hand this dagger.
Like the other weapons you break, the stats written on the weapon won't change, but it's performance WILL. In other words, after its broken, you should notice that it's doing more damage. Only then will you know that it broke. But when you check it, it'll forever give the stats of: DMG 11 with Latent effect DMG 24 / +6% like the day you got it.
BTW, you can only break the weapon if it's your main weapon. Doesn't work if it's being used in your off-hand.
Is my dagger broken or something? Since I started using it, I've been keeping track of WS and SC I use, using
Solo = 1 Lv 1 SC = 2 Lv 2 SC = 3 Lv 3 SC = 5
And I've added up to over 500. On certain instances when I was uncertain if I closed the SC, or if someone else did, I just put a 1, so it's not that I added extra points when I shouldn't have. And after I hit the 500 I recorded, I went on to do another 30+ Level 2 SC's and it still hits for half my Daylight Dagger in my off hand.
Delay 205 is too slow for an offhand dagger (you want somthing that's below the TP floor) and DMG 24 makes it too weak for a mainhand dagger. +6% Critical Hit Rate won't make up for the crappy SAnTA's you'll be doing with this.
Why on earth would anyone want to use this?

Maybe because that "anyone" might be a Bard, a Thief not subbing Ninja, or someone else who isn't dual wielding? I, for one, would *love* to have this dagger for my BRD, but alas, it hasn't dropped for me in any of the KS30s I've done. =/
Can the Heart Snatcher and Senjuinrikio be used in conjunction, if you unlock both katana and dagger will both +6% criticals be active if one is on the off hand.
This dagger is so freaking awesome. 500WS points, you treat it the same as your trial dagger, except it takes longer. Do WS / SC with it in MAIN HAND. You'll notice a huge difference in dmg once it's unlocked.
