Battle Notes

In order to begin this quest you must first talk to Zebada at (F-12) in Uleguerand Range. He will give you a Rare/Ex item called a Cotton Pouch. Slide down at (E-9) and enter the cave at (F-8) and trade the Cotton Pouch to the Chamnaet Spring to get another Rare/Ex item called Chamnaet Ice. Go back to Zebada and trade it to him and he will give you the key item: Zephyr Fan. This is the item needed to enter the battle and everyone in the party must have it to participate.

Head to Bearclaw Pinnacle and prepare to enter. When you are ready, choose the battle Follow the White Rabbit. There is no cap on this fight, you have 30 minutes to win, and a max of 6 people can enter the battlefield.

This BCNM begins with one rabbit, Bearclaw Rabbit. After a few seconds (Melee usually ~80 TP) it spawns 5 additional rabbits called Bearclaw Leverets. All rabbits are immune to charm and lullaby and resistant to sleep (ES+Sleepga from RDM or BLM lasts a few mins tops, without Elemental Seal resist rates are very high). The main rabbit is immune to sleep as well.

Strategies

When the Bearclaw Leverets are spawned, the Black Mage should immediately Elemental Seal + Sleepga II the leverets, then the Paladin can proceed to kite the Bearclaw Rabbit with Gravity & Bind from the Red Mage. Other melee move in and slaughter one of the Leverets at a time, each one having low HP (Build 100 TP, lvl3 Skillchain + Magic Burst is enough to kill one) When they wake up, the Red Mage then Elemental Seal + Sleepga II. If they wake up again, both mages should try to keep them slept as best as they can. One of the leverets is randomly keyed to despawn all the others, just pick one at random and move through them all (First time we got it on 3rd kill, the second time 1st kill, the third time 5th kill).

When these rabbits are gone, the PLD should continue kiting until mages are at full MP, then stop and fight it like normal. This rabbit hits VERY hard and the Paladin will require a LOT of healing. Whirl Claws hits all within range for 400-600 damage, but can be stopped by shadows. Mages should stand back at the very limit of casting range to avoid this special attack.

Melee should use accuracy food, as the Bearclaw Rabbit has VERY high evasion. In addition to the normal rabbit weapon skills (Foot Kick, Whirl Claws) he also uses a Blink skill and an HP recovery (1000-1300 HP recovered). Very weak to spells, but Black Mage should nuke slowly because the Paladin has a very hard time holding hate with taking so much damage. Red Mage should focus on support healing, as this rabbit hits VERY hard. Once the Bearclaw Rabbit falls, go open the chest and receive a reward and 2,500 experience points.

Has anyone else noticed the main rabbit getting much tougher after the 5 lesser ones are killed. Our Thf kited the main bunny while the rest of us killed the other 1 by 1. The Thf got the main one down to 50% by himself but after the other 5 were killed we coudln't do anything to it dmg wise..

Question: The zephyr fan is used in all uleguerand range enms- all the guides tell you to start the enm with getting the fan first. Do you have to get it each time? Or can you keep one once you have it?

Bad Comparison

Pfft... Don't compare this with Alice in Wonderland! I say it should be compared to the Killer Rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

"Aww... it's just a harmless little bunny rabbit!"

"RUN AWAY! AHHH! RUN AWAY!"

"Brother Manar, bring out the Holy Handgrenade!"

THAT'S IT! BRING A HOLY HANDGRENADE! YOU CAN'T LOSE! That is considering the person throwing the Holy Handgrenade doesn't count more or less then 3. Oh God help us all if you count more or less then 3!!!
is it behind the rabbit?

Correct cave

Ok, I've figured out how to fall into the correct cave to get to the Chamnaet Spring. You have to go to the WESTERN cliff. Starting from the southern most part of the cliff, run NORTH for about 7-8 seconds. After that, you're pretty much right above the ledge to the Chamnaet Spring. Slide down the cliff, & aim for the largest hump you can find, slowing your descent along the way; it should be at the bottom of the cliff. If you do this right, you'll land right on the ledge to Chamnaet Spring. After much solo experimentation & 5k worth of xp loss, I did this with a PT of 4 & we all landed on the ledge on our 1st try.

Now for the battle... That's another adventure in itself... hopefully it'll drop my R3. =)

Edit: People have said they've done it with 6 people; I did the fight with 11 people, including myself. PLD/PLD/WAR/MNK/MNK/THF/RNG/DRG/WHM/WHM/BLM. Just as a note, remember that there's NO EXP LOSS, so take the R1 if you fall. It saves time & mp. Prepare for a very long battle, 'cause this bunny heals itself constantly. We were rewarded with 1500-something xp (the xp will drop proportionally if there are more than 6 people), Kejusu Satin and Raise 3 scroll. I finally got my Raise 3... =)

Me and my static did this ENM about a week ago.
Setup was RNG SAM PLD RDM WHM BLM.

We started fighting the Bearclaw Rabbit, and after a short while 5 Bearclaw Leverets show up.

We sleepga'd em, let the PLD kite the BR, with Gravity help from RDM.
Me(RNG) and SAM planned on killing the Leverets one by one till we could go back to killing the main one.
To our surprise all of the Leverets disappeared after we had killed just one.
So you either have to just kill one of the Leverets to kill em all, or have to kill a specific one out of the 5, for the others to disappear.
The BR used Mighty Strikes (I think) right when the Leverets dissapeared.
Let me tell you, this Rabbit has massive VIT and DEF.
SAM was hitting for alot of 0's, good thing SAM has Med to setup SC's.
Main DMG to the BR was done by MBs from the BLM.
BR uses several annoying abilities, one that restores HP, another one that gives the effect of blink.
It took us about 15 mins to finally kill the BR.
Obtained: Galateia

Worst part of doing this NM is getting to the Chamnaet Spring to get the Chamnaet Ice needed for the Zephyr Fan.
Still gotta figure out what the trick is to all the Leverets disappearing.
BLM is definitely a must for this, seeing as Leverets must be kept slept, and BR wont be killed easily with just melee DMG.
Hope this helps.
Please rate up if this was usefull to you. ^^

Well, I decided that I might as well post how to get the Zephyr Fan.
As soon as you zone into Uleguerand Range, you will see Zebada on your left.
Talk to him, he will give you a "Cotton Puch" and wants you to get some Chamnaet Ice from a spring.
I personally used the map from http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/ , which was very helpfull.
You gotta head to Thousandfall Ridge, getting there is easier said then done, make sure to bring atleast 1 stack of oils and powders for your trip, I would recommend 2 stacks of each if it's your first time through.
Take a right from the entrance and walk through the cave. Go down the ramp and start walking uphill (Only buffalo and Snolls here). Once you reach the next cave it will take you to another hill you have to climb up, problem is there are true-sight mobs here, so be carefull. Once at the top go through the next cave leading to a pretty narrow area with more true sight mobs and Demons. Follow this area to a ramp upward, and from the top of the ramp head south. If you made it withouth any aggro you should see Jormungand in front of you. Take the path leading to the South rom Jormungand's Lair, you should see a King Buffalo there.
There are two ledges, one on your left (South) and one to your right (West), fall off the middle-left part of the Westerm slope.
Try to stall your fall, you should see two-three bumps while falling down, aim for the one all the way to your left.
If you make it onto the ledge, great! If not, try again =\ (Took me 3 tries before I made it onto the ledge). Walk in the Cave that the ledge is hanging out from and you will find the Chamneat Spring. Trade your "Cotton Pouch
to it, and it will turn into "Chamnaet Ice".
Take this back to Zebada, and he will reward you with a Zephyr Fan.

When you have the Zephyr Fan, you want to zone into Bearclaw Pinnacle from the hole at (K-7) for the "Follow the White Rabbit" ENM.

What I did with my static our first time around, was that we just had the WHM keep trying to land on the ledge, when she finally succeeded, we all just died beneath the ledge, and got tractored up and R3'd (Carefull with magic-aggroing Elementals that tend to pop out of nowhere). We used up much less silent oils and prism powders that way.

I think that covers just about everything.
Please rate up if you found this usefull. ^^

o.o another legalus!

anyway...i had a question. My ENM group has been coming here for key item for a couple weeks now. We have kinda figured it out, but when we slide down the western slope to get to spring, most of us always end up falling into a hole halfway down the cliff. The hole seems to be directly above the ledge too, and if u fall in the hole, it leads to the tunnel that u ARENT supposed to go in...the one on the right i thinhk. Just wondering, how to avoid this hole?

Tried it again tonight.
It is random which Leveret kills the rest of them.
But there is a leveret that triggers the other 4 to die when killed.
So you have to be lucky.

i failed miserably during this fight as well. we were actually looking to do Holy Cow but stumbled on Follow the White Rabbit and decided to try it instead. the main bunny will start hopping toward you before you're even able to see it. he's not so rough but after a couple minutes, 5 of his cronie bunny friends will start leaping toward whoever has aggro. elemental seal+sleepga worked just fine...keeping them asleep after that proved to be a huge pain in the ***. we also were without a blm and i agree that with one this ENM would be considerably easier. you have to kill all 6 bunnies to complete the ENM, and like all other ENM you only get one shot every 5 rl days whether you fail or succeed... kinda sucks considering how insanely difficult it is to find 5 other people who have gone through the ridiculous prequest for these bastards.. btw, when you have finished the prequest and obtained key item: zephyr fan you can enter any of 4 different wind pillars in bearclaw pinnacle, they each take you to different ENM

Tried this with this setup:

PLD/WAR
MNK/NIN
RNG/NIN
BST/WHM
BRD/WHM
WHM/BLM

Initially, you are only fighting one bunny mob. We knew that at about 75-80% health or after a bit of time, a herd of smaller bunnies would spawn (I believe there were 5).

Well, we got owned. Horde Lullaby met with total resists, and Charm ended up binding the bunnies, which means they are uncharmable. The WHM's Sleepga landed just fine, however.

Bring a BLM with SleepgaII and this ENM should be cake. The hardest part really was getting the stupid Ice to trade for the key item.
What a rip

Jesus beat this quest. He said all you have to do is follow a rabbit (like that movie, Alice in Wonderland) and not get killed on the way. Pigs are wiggley and Jesus is 900 feet tall. SHUT UP.

For this one, you have to talk to Morpheous to get the quest and then you escort Neo against agent NMs. Slow and Gravity are frequently used.
