The key is easy to get if you are a beastmaster or know one. The coffer is the hard part. ><

SummaryRetrieve your Choral Roundlet from a treasure coffer inside Crawler's Nest. WalkthroughBefore starting this quest, you must first activate the quest Borghertz's Harmonious Hands. You must also have completed Painful Memory - BRD AF1. First, you must acquire a Nest Coffer Key, which drops from Knight Crawlers, Crawler Hunters and Helm Beetles. Once you have the key, you must find a treasure coffer. The coffer can spawn in two places in the room north of the wespes (F-6), in three places in the room with rumble crawlers just south of the wespes (G-7 and G-8) and in two places in the tunnel where helm beetles roam (F-9 and G-9). Trade your key to the coffer and you will receive your Choral Roundlet. You will only receive your item if you open the coffer as a bard. Probably IMO, the easiest coffer to get. There are two spawn points on one floor and 5 points on another floor and are all close together. Got the key from a helpful NIN in the area, then he left and I started searching for the coffer in that one area. An hour later I start searching and I find it, pop it, get the hat and bust out the Scroll of Warp to get the heck out. Easy coffer, too bad the other ones don't look too forgiving...

Note: You must be BRD before you open this coffer to receive the AF item. Doesn't really say that anywhere and since SE/FFXI is inconsistent with these types of rules (AF1 it wasn't required for you to be BRD to complete it)...just thought I'd mention it before someone else opens the coffer as the wrong job and has to rehunt the key.

Was able to solo the coffer key off helm beatles as a 75PLD/25THF. Changed jobs and ran back to get the coffer.
Was just wondering...I have the BLM AF hands quest opened, have the Garliage Key, just no help to get Garliage Coffer. Now, with that opened up through ol' Mr. Galka, will that keep me from being able to get this AF mission? Would I have to go get the BLM hands first before attempting this one? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
I completed af weapon feet legs and body... I need darksparks and hand is done, I have Crawler nest coffer key... but yet I cannot get the Hat quest active??? whats up with that??? do i need to complete the hands 1st?
I do NOT wear my knife on me but i do wear the rest of AF... does knife need to be equiped?
I'mma try that later... but any info is greatly needed .. TY ^_^ PS: 61bard

I got my AF hands now ^_^ i have all AF but the hat.... talk to guslam all equiped... still no CS only thing logged in quest for jeuno is gobby bag6 ... . why me ; ; i cant get the quest ???

well I got my hat.. YEAH .. I /tell bard's and they said you wont log the quest... so imma guess you need to beat AF1 and log 2.. then just get coffer key and open coffer to get hat... What a pain ><

One small question. Being a Thief by nature, i ahve opened chests for my AF for Theif. I was wondering if you have to be a Bard when you open the coffer to get the Roundlet. I would much rather pick the lock to keep things easier for me. Any response would be helpful.

I got a party invite for Crawlers nest last night. I asked them if they were getting any coffer keys, they said they were. I politely asked if I could lot on one if we get it. About 30-45 min in we get one, they all pass and I get the key. Then about 20 minutes later I'm about to go AFK when low and behold, the coffer chest spawns right in front of us, they clapped and said go get it. Very nice got halfway to my next level and my next piece of AF. ^^

hmm... i just tried, talked to guslam, wouldnt give me cutscene... so i went to get the coffer anyways, ended up getting 9790 gil instead... what do i need to do? i've already done AF1... and i tried equiping the knife to see if that made a difference and it didnt

I think i figured it out... I went back to the merry minstrel and talked to Bki Tbujhja to start the quest for the slippers. Then went back to talk to Guslam, and he gave me the cutscene. Went back to CN and got the roundlet... w00t

I did this last night, well the coffer part at least. I have yet to do my AF2 for the boots as it's hard to get people to go fight stuff in the necropolis. So you can get it as long as you talk to Guslam and get his cutscene.

I was lucky to find mine off of the square room with the "Secret Room" in it. I didn't expect it to be that easy, figured I'd have to go into the other map. Good luck to the rest of you ^.^

You do not have to speak with Guslam to be able to find the Choral Roundlet or Choral Cannions.
I don't think you need to talk to guslam to get the hat from the coffer. I talked to him after I triggered my AF boots quest, and he gave me quest for the lvl 56 pants -_- keep in mind im still level 51 at the time and haven't even got 52 yet to wear the boots. Im going to try and pop a coffer in CN though and see if it's true i'll post back to confirm. I hope your right Travis it's going to suck if i waste a key lol.
EDIT: Yeah, I went to Crawler's Nest found a coffer in the deep part where the Dragon flies are and found a chest, opened it got the hat and died lol. So it's true you dont need to activate this quest, im guessing though just make sure you go as Bard.
