FINALLY!!!

Who cares what anyone else says on this. You can do the mini quests in any order, depending on who you talk to and depending on what any of the Rhinostary people say to you. I advise you talk to them and compare what they say to each quest, then you can see which one you are to start on. After that, they kind of go in order on what the Taru's say to you. So compare everything they say to the quest summeries to find out which one you are to do next.

You have to finish Blue Ribbon blues no matter what so I do not understand why it is not on the list of quests. It is the last one and you have to do it too, so they might as well put it there.

Only after I completed all of the mini quests including blue ribbon blues, was I able to get the certificate.

And remember to zone after you complete either quest to get another one.

I think it is BS if you are not from Windy and to have this as a freebe for them on the new addon. We know how hard it is to get all those mages to the door. Windy has access to this from their missions. Thats the most bogus thing I have ever seen SE do.

Finally got this quest !

I finished all previous Rhinostery quests, but when I went to Ohbiru-Dohbire he kept giving me the Water quest >.< I was fame 6.

After reading somewhere that the "Say it with flowers" quest involved the Rhinostery, I did the quest, but still got the water quest proposed. So I did the water quest but still couldn't get the Toraimarai quest.

So I leveled windy fame up to lvl.7, where you get this comment :

Quote:
Mister Wolflow!
You'd have to be living in a hole somewhere not to have heard that name.
All the bards in the land are singing songs of your outstanding deeds. Keep up the extraordinary work!

And I got my Toraimarai quest ^^

Hope this helps.

When you get theis quest you are also given a pass to enter the canal from windrust walls, the entrance is under the heros house i think, go down the side of thebridge to the right to the house, then talk to the cardian there, i'm from windrust so i'm not 100% sure if this is just a windy thing or not, that entrance also takes you to the very map you need to be on, the map is obtained form a time consuming mhura/selbina set of quests.
access to canal from windy walls is worth activating this quest even if you don't finnish it. hope this helps

I didn't see it in any of the posts here, but it's useful to know that the only place to find Starmites is at the circular room at the intersection of G/H-8/9 on the Eastern map of Toraimai Canal(the one with the exit to Windurst Walls). There are 5 of them in the small room, they checked DC/EM/T at level 66, and they aggro and link.

The NPC mentions that the Starmites are causing trouble at the roots of the tree, but if you don't know where the roots are it can take some wandering around to find it.

The star onion brigade quest involving Ohbiru-dobiru will interfere with receiving this quest. Also the Blue Ribbon Blues quest must have been completed.

If you've taken care of those issues, this quest should be obtainable at fame level 6ish i think

There is an alternate way into the Toriamorai canal. If you are from windurst (I have had friends not from windy try this and failed), there is a mini quest, where, if you complete Mission 2-2, and trade a rolanberry to Ropipi??? In the giant tree, she will give you a key item that allows you to open the 3 mage gate by yourself.

I personally did this mini-quest completely out of order, where I got to rank 5, then found out about it, so I traded a rolanberry, which she accepted and thanked me for it, however, gave me nothing in return. I then canceled mission 5-1 (had to go to the person at the top of the tree and choose not to do the mission), and then go to the gate guard and get Mission 2-2 and completed it. I then went back to the tree, and talked to the person I gave the Rolanberry to, and she gave me the key item. I then went to the 3 mage gate, and opened as a test. At the time I was a thf:P.

So, access to Toraimoria canal can be done in 1 of three ways.

3 Mages (RDM/BLM/WHM) at the 3 mage gate in the Ruins.

1 Person (when they open the door any number of ppl can go through) who has completed the mini-quest at the 3 mage gate in the Ruins.

1 Person at the gate in Windurst (I appears to be a cutscene door, so only the person with the key item can go) after completing all these quests.

I am still 3 quests down from completing the last way, however, will post more when I know more.

Oh, and the reason I say the rolanberry thing is a mini-quest is that it does not show up in your quest log (or not that I have seen).

Thanks to everyone for the useful information not provided in the quest instructions. One more thing I did not see mentioned anywhere was the location of the Priming Gate. It is located in Windurst Walls at the center of H-3 and is accessed by walking down the hill in H-4. Hope this is helpful as I couldn't find the damn thing for awhile.

I finally was given this quest today. I did the following quests in this order:
1. Food for Thought
2. Overnight Delivery
3. Water way to go!
4. Blue Ribbon Blues
5. Say it with Flowers
5a. (insert numerous other quests here; to level fame)
6. Toraimarai Turmoil

The issue for me was that I didn't have enough fame to get to step #6. Whenever I talked to Ohbiru-Dohbiru he gave me the "Water way to go!" quest over again. So I did lots of quests and finally got my fame to level 8 (level 9 is "Hero"), and he still wouldn't give me the Toraimari Turmoil quest. So for giggles, I went and did the "Water way to go!" quest one more time (I had the canteen in inventory). Headed to Giddeus, returned, completed the quest, zoned, and talked to Ohbiru-Dohbiru again and he gave me the Toraimari Turmoil quest.

So it was for me; If you already had a canteen, finish that quest and then ask again. I cannot verify that level 8 fame is REQUIRED since I didn't clear the "Water way to go!" quest until I was at that fame level. Another fact of interesting note, I am Rank 5, for what it's worth.

Hope this helps someone, leveling here @ 56 BST is fantastic (Pet: (DC) Slimes Target: (VT) Impish Bats).

Happy Adventuring.

Nothing mentions this, but it's implied:
You do not have to finish this quest to get T. Canal access. You get access simply by starting this quest.

I have max Windurst fame, and had completed Blue Ribbon Blues... but I wasn't able to open this quest until I cleared Say it With Flowers as well. ...Hope that helps someone!

(edit... just to clarify... Say it With Flowers is also a Rhinostery related quest.)

i think there is a certain windurst mission, that gives you automatic access to this door for the rest of the game.
I havent done any Rhinosary Quests.... but i can walk though this door and go into Toraimai Canal.

You probably did them and don't remember because it's certainly not missions. I'm Rank 10 in Windurst and I've done all of the missions including the ones you can pass over and I can guarantee you that missions don't affect this.

To do Toraimarai Turmoil u have to go to toraimarai and kill the starmites so... Yes there is a different entrance to use the 3 mage gate located in northeast tower in east Sar. the mage gate is behind the cracked wall. if u don't have 3 mages (Red white and black) Trade a rolanberry to the left guy in the heavens gate tower to gain entrance without them this area is extremely difficult to get a party to get this done would suggest having a 70+ character help u with this Summoner has to be your main if u need it when u open the chest or u will not get it. every time i have checked this area only been 3-4 people in it.. So start yelling in Jeuno and its going to be a long day unless your lucky enough to have a 75 in ls thats going to help.
Good luck to all. Hope this helps. See u on the Alexander Server

I finished Blue Ribbon Blues but Ohbiru still didn't offer Toraimarai Turmoil, even after zoning out and back.

I had to *also* have 40 unique Windurst quests completed before he would finally offer me the quest. So there is a fame requirement too. Hope this helps.

Something else should be mentioned about this quest. The quest giver gives you a key item "Rhinostery certificate" which allows you to open the door in Windurst Walls and go directly into Toraimarai Canal. Just starting this quest is a great benefit to be able to get directly to the canal quickly for any other quests.

Ohhhhhh, thank you for mentioning that. I havnt actually tried this quest yet as im not a high enough lvl. But everytime i glance at the connection maps i wondered how the heck I am somehow missing this link between Windurst and the canal I somehow havnt found. lol Now I know~

... and knowing is half the battle.

(the other half requires numerous hours of talking to NPCs, zoning, talking to other NPCs, talking to more NPCs, then talking to the first NPC again. Oh yeah, then you kill stuff or just use sneak and/or invisible to run past it, whichever you prefer. Then you find a ??? or something. I love it when there's a ??? and you examine it and it says there's nothing out of the ordinary. OK? why is there a ??? there then? huh? huh?)
