SummaryFind a pair of old gauntlets in a treasure coffer in Castle Zvahl Baileys, then defeat a notorious monster to repair the gauntlets and claim your artifact hands. WalkthroughNote: You must have completed A Craftsman's Work - DRG AF1 and activated Chasing Quotas to obtain this quest. To start this quest, first speak with Guslam at H-8 of Upper Jeuno. The galka will tell you about a pair of old gauntlets seen in Boyahda Tree that might have once belonged to the legendary Borghertz. Go to the Boyahda Tree and obtain a Boyahda Coffer Key. The following monsters drop coffer keys: Bark Spider, Robber Crab, Knight Crawler, Moss Eater, Mourioche and Death Cap. Next, find a coffer. All fourteen spawn points where coffers can appear are located on the first map. The spawn points are at (A-5), (B-5), (D-4), (D-5), (E-6), (F-7), (G-7), (H-6), (H-9), (I-7), (I-12), (J-7), (J-8), and (J-9) . Trade your key to the coffer to receive the key item Old Gauntlets. You do not have to be a dragoon when you open this coffer. However, for subsequent coffers that might produce Dragoon Artifact Armor, you must open them whilst on the dragoon job. After receiving the old gauntlets, return to Guslam, who says the gauntlets are the work of Borghertz -- but that he cannot repair them. Head down to the Tenshodo shop in Lower Jeuno, where Yin Pocanakhu talks about a toolbox that won't open. Pay her 1,000 gil, and she says the toolbox is on top of a crate in Port Jeuno, in the auction house area. Find the toolbox and examine it, and the ghost of Borghertz appears. He asks you to bring him some shadow flames from Castle Zvahl. Return to Castle Zvahl Baileys and examine the torch at F-8. A notorious monster bomb by name of Dark Spark will appear. Defeat Darkspark and examine the torch again to get the key item Shadow Flames. Once you have the flames, return to Jeuno and examine the toolbox again. The ghost of Borghertz reappears, and he uses the flames to repair the old gauntlets. He then gives you your Drachen Finger Gauntlets. During the fight i have invs up the whole time. Then Eremor gets in trouble so i Divine seal Cure IV him trying to help so he doesn't die loseing xp...guess wat...i end up dieing from demon agro. So he came back to raise me and a JP whm and rdm came by so i asked to help. They said yes because they're so nice. to bad i don't know know....
ok i did this too my 1st job is whm 60 i have all my af just missing the body.
so i have a drg now and its a year latter pop the drg af hands coffer and get a map i am pissed wth. so i go to the guy and lookey here he is stuck on this whm af hands but now he is saying i need to go to that under ground place in bastilla downs wth i have my whm af hands why is he being a dush can anyone help?

Yea, it sounds stupid and all, but it wasnt posted anywhere. Plus, it made my day (woo).
Could super jump come in handy if u used it right before it went off?

....The second fight w/ the 4 of us went really smoothly. the whm also had a kraken club which was freaken sweet watching. Fight took about 3 min w/ every1 and bam got my Healer's mitts...
...So the moral of the story is DO NOT GET COFFER IF YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT AF STARED IN QUEST LOG!!!
So if you start say, whm AF, and you get all of the coffers you need for that, but don't finish the quested AF you are then free to obtain the AF coffers for other jobs.
So the actual moral of the story is: If you start AF for one job at least finish getting the coffers so you can get AF for another job.
went to kill dark spark with my ls mate 75rng/nin to tank, lvl 51 Bst who needed to kill him and myself.
I popped the DS. Everything went smoothly until my Bst forgot to touch the ??? in port jeuno. so he warpped back while rng and 1 waited for him.
Then a Rdm in Full AF came along and pop DS. He couldnt take the dmg, so my rng asked if he needed help. Rdm went "Call For Help" on DS and fought it rite in my face. I was on sneak/invis cos there were demons around. Then it happened.
BAM! DS self destruct and killed me instantly. I had 800+ HP and i went down in 1 hit. So if fellow drgs wans to kill DS, kill it FAST b4 he self destruct... its not a pretty sight...
