If ambition still fuels your soul, head to the Navukgo Execution Chamber and obliterate the monstrous flan! WalkthroughNote: You must have completed Beginnings - BLU AF1 to start this quest. To begin the quest, talk to Waoud at J-10 in Aht Urhgan Whitegate as a Blue Mage. He will send you to the Navukgo Execution Chamber to find the Decorative Bronze Gate. To get to Navukgo Execution Chamber, you will need to pass through the gate in Mount Zhayolm. This requires a key item called Cast Metal Plate that you can obtain by examining a ??? in Halvung. Once you have the key item, go to Mount Zhayolm and enter the gate at J-7, then head to G-7 and zone into Halvung. Go to E-7 and zone back into Mount Zhayolm. Go to D-8 in Mount Zhayolm and zone into Navukgo Execution Chamber. Enter the BCNM at the brass gate. The battle is uncapped with a 30 minute time limit. You can go in with up to 18 people. You will be fighting an NM named Immortal Flan. It is a black mage mob and will use Sleepga. There may be more than one NM depending on how many people go in with you. After you defeat the Immortal Flan, go back to Aht Urhgan Whitegate and talk to Waoud for another cutscene. You will recieve a key item Sealed Immortal Letter to deliver to a master craftsman. Find Lathuya at F-8 in Aht Urhgan Whitegate and she'll tell you her boss is fishing in Aydeewa Subterrane. Enter Aydeewa Subterrane at K-9 in Wajaom Woodlands. Go north until you see a lake and select the blank targetable spot for a cutscene. Talk to Lathuya again for your Magus Charuqs.

I am trying to get my AF armor for BLU but haven't had much luck. I got the Immortals Scimitar, no problem there, but I need help with this quest (Omens) for AF2. My character is Xehgui, 52BLU/26NIN, on the Ifrit server. If you can help me, just send me a message. It would be much appreciated.

Man I'm so glad it's dead!! Went first 2 times as once 55rdmg/blm, then 55 blumg/blm.. no good about a little over half way I'm dead.. Well when I got my redmg to 62 I rem this guy and went for it as 62rdmg/blm So easy!! what a difference that made.. So thier u go guys and gals I say at least solo rdmg 60 and up no problem I mean I still had almost 400 mp tick left after it was over, that's why I say at least 60.. Good luck to yall..

Im Going to try to solo this mob it seems realy easy, but i have no idea where the key is that i need, or, how to get through half these places, a pos for the key and some directions would be nice. -Jenovax, Ragnorak

ahaha! yeah i duoed the flan with a 56 rdm and me 56 blu cake walk!, dont think i could have soloed it but its worth a try its just getting there thats the problem, goodluck all you other blus :D
i have tried for about six months to find help with this mob all to no avail.
I decided to go see how tough he was today basicaly just to get some information and find the best route to the Execution chamber. I am level 67 Tarutaru,BLU/RDM I shouted for about 10 mins to se if there was another BLU in the area needing this quest but got no answer. I entered the chamber and put up Protect 11 Shell,Phalanx Stoneskin and Blink. I ate a mithkabob and popped a yag drink then engaged the Immortal flan, I cast Infrasonics, Stinking Gas,Venomshell and proceeded to hit him with my sword and physical spells, I noticed his HP was going down steadily from the Venom and when he was at 50% I cast Yawn and rested for mp. He woke up and started to cast stonega 11 but was interrupted by my melee attack. I was a little wary of running out of MP but my tarutaru mp pool held out and he went down very quickly after that. It took me 7mins 7secs to beat this guy but i did it now I can move on and get the rest of my AF better late than never lol.

Went to kill this with a lv 52 Blu named 'Hentze'. I am lv 75 DRK ('Clarenze'). It was much weaker than we thought. It didn't use its TP move and only used Tier 2 magic like fire 2 ...etc. Killed it in a little more than 3 minutes. Glad that I am done with this. ^_^ I think is solo-able as DRK.

i just got out of the area, i soloed it as a 75sam/(lvl24)nin. man its EASY, i just walked in used meditate, waited 3min for it to be rdy again, then i walked up to it and instantly used gekko to try and silence it, so then i 2 houred, and did yukikaze > Gekko = fragmentation > kasha = light. was almost dead, so i used meditate (with af helmet and relic gloves it should give u 2 ws out of it if timed right) so i did a gekko, and a couple seconds later i did another gekko and the fight was over. at the end of the fight it finally just took down my utsusemi ichi. didnt get touched once, so its a pretty easy fight.
You all realize that this is a level 52 artifact equipment quest. I'd reaallly hope this is easy to all you 75's and your full parties.
That said, posting "beat this guy with 4 70+'s" in the least helpful thing someone could read.
We went with 53 rng/nin (me), 53 blu/thf, and 55 drg/blu
We brought food and poison potions for sleepga. We did no see sleepga, and we were hitting it really hard. We were actually laughing really hard at how much damage we were doing.
Until we saw his tp moves. Anomorphic Scythe landed for 350ish and Anomorphic Spikes hit for 280. Dragoon died with less than 30% hp to go, and we beat it with blu mage at 80 hp, and myself at 300 (utsusemi and bloody bolts)
He's pretty easy, but prepare yourself. I'ld wager the Drg died because we didn't take it seriously after the first couple of hits.
That said, posting "beat this guy with 4 70+'s" in the least helpful thing someone could read.

Thank you for posting some real information into this fight, we were looking at doing it with a full group of 50-52, and was getting worried we would need a 70+ just to beat it.

lol.. i soloed it as rdm/ninja.. never broke utsusemi and got record in 2 minutes. hes weak, trust me

i just killed this as 72whm/blm. just keep bind dia and the occasional banish III going. also i meleed the last bit of his health. use on yag drink and that was it. didnt use bene. tried earlier but the timer ran out so i figured i had to bring the pain to it.
took 20 minutes to beat.

Just solo'd this as 75 WHM/BLM. I'd recommend trying a different sub, this was a long, drawn-out fight and I barely won with little over 300 HP and 7 MP left. He eats through Stoneskin pretty fast so you may want to try /NIN for shadows or /RDM for Phalanx.
I didn't plan ahead to this battle: I didn't take any Yagudo drinks, ethers, etc. so I think with a little preparation I could have done better. I even fought in my Republic Aketon (1 defense) since I didn't think the fight would be too hard.

is it possible for a SAM to solo this one? cause I see a lot of mages just wailing on this thing, and my only job that's 75 is SAM...

CC solo'd it and my blu friend and I just stood back and watched. Had planned on using a couple CCs but it wasn't needed. 1 CC jug and 1 zeta (pet food may not have been needed but it may have been close without it) and it was over. I have beast affinity capped but even without it the worst case scenario is using 2 jugs on it.
easy as a blm/rdm
just do it as the xp version, his spells don't really hurt, he did firaga II stone III on me and some other enfeebles.
gravity sticks very well, so you can nuke him like the other flans.
he hits for 40-50dmg. so not that hard
don't forget to dispel his magic def move, for some reason all my spells got 50% resisted. aspir helps a lot.

Beat the Immortal Flan last night as 75 SMN/whm. Easy fight with ramuh. bring some MP meds to make sure you dont run out of MP and you will be fine. To Weak!!!!!!!!
It doesnt mention this, but if you quested the Scimitar that RL day, you cant get this quest until next rl day japan time midnight, which is 11AM EST. THis would be helpful info, so people dont wast their time, or go nuts wondering why they dont get the quest.
Solo'd last night as Pld75/War. I didnt have to use Chivalry. I didnt have to Flat Blade any spells. A tip tho, if you fight alone, save tp and use Spirits Within once it reaches 300%. Otherwise you widdle him down slowly.

this thing was so easy we went in with 70 pld 75 rdm (me) 75 rdm and 75 whm
i could of soloed this thing with my rdm we had to take 2 cause we went in with 4 ppl if you go in with 3 you only have to take one but 75rdm/nin could solo this thing no one realy took any damage and the sleepga spells never got off and if it did dont think it even stuck

Should be a little more clear with the description. First off you have to examine the gates of halvung near the halvung staging point to start with, and then search for the ??? for cast metal plate. Second you said you find the ??? in Halvung. That's wrong, it's not in Halvung, it's in Mount Zayohlm. There are 9 spawn points for the metal plate, all of which can be veiwed on ffxi-atlus.com under Mt. Zayohlms map.

Yea, wasted alot of time and money finding this out. ALSO it's a Bronze gate, not Brass. I got upset wondering where the brass gate was >.<
