I received the sword from Equesobillot at the top of the ravine, had I known it was a regular Bronze Sword i would have just bought one with me to trade him.

Mission OrdersWalkthroughBefore you can get this mission, you need to have obtained some crystals to boost your standing. The guard sends you to La Theine Plateau to receive some rescue training. To get there go to the sw corner of West Ronfaure and zone into La Theine Plateau. Go to E-6 and speak with the NPC (Galaihaurat) He can be found on you map under the Eastern tree of the three trees shown in E-6 grid of your map; he will point in the direction of the ravine. Go to the right side of the ravine and speak with the NPC there. Then follow the train south and talk to the soldiers you see there. They tell you that a soldier named Ruillont is lost in Ordelle Caves and give you directions on how to get there. Zone into Ordelle and Ruillont should be just to the left. He tells you that he lost his sword. Go back to the soldiers and get him a new one (random soldier has the sword). Trade it to Ruillont and go speak with Vicorpasse (outside the cave) to receive your "Rescue Training Certificate" (you must have the certificate to complete the quest). I updated the walkthrough a little to provide the position of said NPC on your map as well as name of said NPC since previous writer of walkthrough wasnt nice enough to give out the name
If you can't find the guy look at the very top i think almost on the other side. I've done this quest 3 times (main, mule, and mule) its been him 2/3 times.

If you checked the five NPCs at the bottom and the two on the way up and none are giving you the sword, then get out of there and go around the chasm to the other side, find the spot that you can climb out, near the road. There is the eighth NPC there, I have verified today that he can have it.

Confirmed: Galaiharurat @ (E-6) can potentially have the sword for him.

You want the chasm at F-6/F-7. If you're coming from sandy, follow the road south until E-6. There you will find the first soldier Galaihaurat. Go east and you'll start dropping down a few ledges and the chasm will be in front of you. The ramp down into the chasm itself is on the northeast side. All the way down you will pass more soldiers, and the entrance to Ordelle's Caves is in the far southeast end of the chasm. There are a total of 7 soldiers that could randomly have the sword; 5 within the chasm, 1 at the top of the chasm, and 1 out by the road @ E-6.

OMFG i was about halfway to the caverns (i suggest buying the map, it helps) and then i realized i hadn't activated the quest! >.<

lessahope is right, dont listen to that guy, I just did it, and my guy was at F6 Deaufrain, so its gotta be random.

Don't listen to the last guy. It is a random soldier. I was doing this quest on my 2nd account & tried to follow his directions. They were WRONG. My guy to ask for the sword was Equesobillot.

OK I WOULD JUST LIKE TO TELL OFF OF YOU THAT YOU ALL REALLY HAVE TO STOP GIVING HINTs AND STUFF IF YOU REALLY HAVE NO f___ CLUE. I HAVE SPENT 6 HOURS ON THIS AND WELL LET ME TELL YOU THAT ITS NOT RANDON. IT IS NOT ANY OF THEM IN THE CAVERN. THE SWORD IS IN FACT, AT E-6 TALK TO Galaihaurt. he has the sword.

This was the hardest mission i've done so far. I died twice from poisen fungars. They aggro u so easily. I didn't even use any magic for an hour and they would still spot me from a distance. If anyone is going to attempt this make sure your atleast lvl 17-18.
I did it at level 11 easy, I went up on the ledges as far away from the Fungars as I could and didnt get agro once. If you have trouble with fungar agro use silent oils, because they agro to sound.
Casting spells has nothing to do with it, you were too close to them when you passed.

Just finished this yesturday with Lv 14 Warrior...Tough...Real tough. I had to stay clear of the Poison fungars, and snippers. (Walked around the side of the cliffs, and a lot of waiting) But I did it. The soldier next to the captain had the sword...(thank God) I though for sure I would have to go all the way back up. I don't think I would venture down there again until I got to Lv 16-18 first. I need to level up more before I take on any more missions.

I have finished rank 1-3 (Save The Childredn) but the Missions guy doesnt show my this quest. Lately i read that i have 2 donate a stack of crystals but to who???Plz any1 that can except this mission, who do i donate a stack 2.

You give the stacks to the gate gaurd that casts signet on you. I gave him two stacks, and I was all set.

The guard isnt random Ive just had it confirmed from every rank 10 person on my LS the sword giver is the one up top.
I just did this with my San Dorian mule, it wasn't the one on top. I can't say it is random, but more than one NPC must possibily have the sword. I'm sorry that your rank 10 LS friends were either remembering wrong or having a strange streak of similarity.
Its great that everyone confirmed it, but I just did this with my sandorian mule. It wasn't the one on top.

im trying to do this mission for my friend on the game, she done all she needed to do, and got up to gettting sword back, and now she taliong to all the soldiers (just went for a second round) and she not getting it :( please someone help me out on whats going on and why she cant
