Maybe the other Craft levels are the ones where they can handle the "Particular ingredients" used in the synthesis.
Like the Silver ingot, maybe your Gold needs to be lvl 20.

my smithing is 57 so that apperently not right it says its beyond my skill lvl
it will say that if your subcrafts are too far below too, not just the main.
