Description

Place a bronze bed in your home house and after the next weekly update on Sunday, Moogle will tell you that sleeping in the bed has made him homesick and he would like to take a vacation. However, Moogle is ashamed to go home empty handed. He wants to give Papa Moogle a Power Bow because he likes to enter the archery contest at the fair. Mama Moogle would look very pretty with a Beetle Ring. Poor Moogle asks for your help in finding these items for him.

Bring the items to Moogle and he will tell you he will be back in a few days with a gift for you. Not to worry, he wont disappear. Later, he will return with a shiny new Mog Safe for you.

Power Bow + Ring

After you give the Moogle the power bow and beetle ring, do you ever get them back?
I'm asking because the bow in particular is kind of pricy on my server, and I try to be frugal with my gil.

Anyone know any information on the next quest to increase the size to 70?

Nope. It the price you must pay to increase size. The game assume you have the assets to pay for it since you need extra room. hehe.
Tally
# Dec 24 2003 at 10:31 AM Rating: Decent
I don't think you have to worry about the tally any more. I can never play on Sundays, but have completed the quest. I installed my bed on a Monday or Tuesday and got the cut seen two days later. Just completed to quest for the extra 10 slots. Not sure what my fame is. I've completed 18 quest in San d'Oria and the sub class quest, and all the missions up to the journey abroad in San d'Oria. How does one go about checking their fame?
1st in conquest?
# Dec 22 2003 at 3:17 AM Rating: Default
I have 70 unique quests completed and still can't get mog house #2 with the mahogany bed. I've heard rumors that your nation has to be 1st in conquest ratings in order for the quest to activate. Can anyone refute or support this?
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 29 2003 at 6:57 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) My nation isn't first and I got the quest. I think you have to have a bronze bed; I don't think mahogany will activate the quest.

no, he is asking about mog house #2, not 1... i dont know if you have to be first, i doubt you do though...
Safe Size, and one more thing
# Dec 22 2003 at 2:46 AM Rating: Default
The expansion adds 10 slots.

I figured that 25 Fame on this site means you need to have at least 25 quests done in your nation. Which I did, before the Tally this way. I hit exactly 25 and it worked for me. Im still waiting for the dang critter to get back though. I thought this was a few days?

To get the Mog House Expansion 1 to work:

First...
Get the following items...
[Legend: k = thousand Example: 1k is 1000 Gil]

Bronze Bed. (5-20k in Auction House.)
Power Bow. (10-20k in Auction House.)
Beetle Ring. (1-5k in Auction House.)

It's better to get all of the items so nothing would be missing. But if you want to get the quest started, get the Bronze Bed first, thats what initiates it.

When you have the Bronze Bed, set it up in your Mog House. Thru Layout. To do this, just put it in your Mog Safe first then select Layout in your Mog House Menu, and set it up. For those who played the Sims, you'll love this. Anyway...the Bronze Bed MUST be already set up in your Mog House before the Tally hits. The other items can be in your Inv or Safe, or whatever.

Next, once you got whatever that is needed. Wait for the Week's Tally to begin concluding. You can check to see how long there is until the next Tally, under Region Information in your Menu. 1 Gameday = 1 Hour. Usually the Tally is on Sundays PST-EST time. I dont know about out of this country so dont ask. Anyway, you need to log on before the Tally and wait for it, once the tally has begun which is said as an announcement in your chatbox, rush into your Mog House and speak to your mog. A Cut Scene will commence. You have the quest started then, good! Give him all the items he needs then he'll thank you. After that, he will leave for a few days. I do not know exactly when he will return but Im sure it'll be within 7-8 hours max. So go out and do stuff, log off and live your life and come back later. When you return, he'll magically tell you that he returns gives your expansion. Then you go "Yay!" and live happily ever after until you groan about getting another expansion and for if that is the case, I don't know so fug off. Dun bug me. >.<

Mog house quest
# Dec 20 2003 at 10:22 AM Rating: Default
ok i have a bronze bed, how do i get it in the MH besides being in my items list or mog safe?
wrong!
# Dec 17 2003 at 8:40 PM Rating: Decent
The storage option added in the patch is NOT what you think. It only gives you back slots used up by furniture. So adding any sort of chest to your house will only give you 1 more spot open in the storage.... which the chest is using in your bank!
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 17 2003 at 7:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) With the December 2003 update, this quest is less critical now. Setting up other furniture in your house, such as a Chest, will also increase the amount of items you may store in your Mog House; though this space is under the Storage menu and not the Mog Safe menu.
RE: Less Important Now
# Dec 18 2003 at 12:03 PM Rating: Decent
It's still very important. You can't access the storage menu from any mog house outside your home country.

so I had done the bronze bed quest a while back.. and decided to do the next one with the mahagony bed.. no-one confirmed that it works, so I thought I'd give it a try.. put the Mahagony bed in my mog house 2 rl days before the recount... logged off didn't play for a while.. came back after the recount and didn't get any new quest activated... I've got about 45 quests done in Bastok (my hometown) 35 quests in san doria, 15 quests in windhurst, 10 in jeuno and 10 in selbina/mhuara... rank 3, lvl33....

not sure what I'm missing, but I have a feeling you need other furniture in the room.. I've got tables, chairs, tableware, pictures, etc too in there already... so I dunno... >_<

As long as the bronze bed has been setup in your own hometown Mog house when the conquest recount happens and you have enough fame, you will trigger the quest. I had a rent-a-room and was in Jeuno at the time of the recount. When I went home and reset my Mog house location, Moogle wanted a vacation.

My fame is at the "chatting about you over dinner" stage or ~80 quests in Windurst (and similar quest count for San Doria, but little else outside SD & Windurst).
Got quest, did not complete yet
# Dec 15 2003 at 1:26 AM Rating: Default
I was able to get the quest to activate. I handed in the items but the moogle never left. I have the quest listed under OTHERS in the quest menu as not completed. When i handed him the bettle ring abd power bow he thanked me. I tryed to give him another power bow and beetle ring after 14 hours earth time, but he did not accept these. Do i have to wait 3 days earth time to see if the quest completes or was it 3 hours game time? Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Finally activated!
# Dec 14 2003 at 10:40 AM Rating: Decent
I finally got the mog house quest to activate today. For the third straight week I was in my home town during the conquest. I almost always log out while in my MH, as I had done last night. Two weeks ago I was already online, and wandering the town during the conquest tally. Last week I cannot be sure, I might have lagged out and popped somewhere else. But this week I was in the MH. As soon as I logged on I talked to the Moogle, and the quest activated.

I might have repeated a quest a couple times, but not much more fame than I had last time.

The answer seems to be: If the quest isnt given to you just do more quests. :) You also hafta go to your hometown and select layout and put the bed in. You wont get the quest if it is only in your mog safe.

Next beds needed:
Mahagony Bed
Noble Bed

60k and 125k on my server :(

SIMPLE
# Dec 11 2003 at 8:29 PM Rating: Default
gonna leave it simple:

You need the mog in his original mog house. You need the bronze bed in the mog house.

Both above requirements must be met on SUNDAY during the conquest tally. Then return to your mog. Voila!

Not quite -- the only requirement for the bronze bed trigger is that you have the bed installed during tally. I had a rent-a-room in SD during tally with bed installed back in Windurst. When I returned a few days later, the quest was active.

The mahogany bed quest trigger might have additional qualifications, but for the bronze, you just have to have the bed installed. You don't need moogle at home during the tally and you don't have to be number one in rankings.

Mahogony isn't triggered for me. I have 80 or so fame, rank 4, Windurst is on top of rankings, bed installed and moogle home during tally. So, perhaps something else is needed for the second phase.

Okay the people who are saying that you have to be in the mog house during the tally or talk to the mog right after are likely wrong.

I installed the bed in my house a few days before the tally. (Rank 2, Fame ~30 in Windy, lvl 21 with subjob and choco). The night before the tally I found myself in Jeuno and had a rent-a-room. The tally passed with me logged off. When I logged on next I went in to the rent-a-room the mog said nothing about the quest. Once I got back to Windy and reinstalled my stuff there I got the cutscene and the quest right away. This was towards the evening on sunday and at least a dozen RL hours after the tally. So clearly you have to be in your actual home-town mog house to trigger teh quest, but it doesn't matter whether you are on or not during the tally or probably how soon you talk to the mog either.

I gave the mog the stuff and he said thanks etc (no sign of him actually leaving). Interestingly, the next RL day i had a rent-a-room in Jeuno and I walked in and talked to the mog and he said he was back from vacation and hed increased my mog safe size. So while you have to be in your home for him to talk about going on vacation, apparently you can be in a rent-a-room for when he comes back and you receive the reward.
Some factors...

Well, I had a devil of a time with this one also. I just revceived it, however, so maybe I can help...

At level 18 as Bastokan citizen, I'd had the bed for about 3-4 weeks real time. Nothing. I'd done 27 local quests, 1 in San d'Oria, 5 in Selbina (the recylce quest and the adventurer's footsteps quest 4 times), and 2 in Mhaura (two of the chef quests). My rank was 2, and the bar had been maxed out for a long time. A conquest shift passed, and still nothing.

Knowing all of that, here's what happened: I left Bastok, leveled to 20. I completed one quest in San d'Oria (Map to King Ramperre's Tomb), joined the Carpenter's Guild, then completed the subjob quest, then the chocobo quest. Right before I completed the sj quest, the conquest shift occurred. Between the sj quest and the choco quest, I completed the first half of mission 6 (which grants you a new title, so it may be significant as far as fame).

When I returned to Bastok (via my new chocobo), I got it. So if the sj quest isn't it, maybe the chocobo quest has something to do with it, or maybe doing quests in Selbina/Mhaura. I'm not saying it's the end-all factor, but it may play in. Maybe the chocobo quest and the outland quests are required (to show how "broad" you are [I've done no Windurst quests though]). . . or maybe some quests increase fame more than others?

If you have a ton of fame, the sj quest, the choco license, Selbina/Mhaura quests and the bed in there... I really have no idea. But I do know it's not time, and it's not local quests, at least not exclusively. Most likely it's a combination of a lot of things.

Good luck, this one is a tough nut to crack. :/

I finally did get the quest finished. Moggle finally came back and I got my 10 extra spaces. As to my fame level I had 25 quests done and the fame check NPC in San d'Oria said "I hear your name often." I had my bronze bed in the Mog House for a few real life days and the quest never started. I walked in to the Mog House right after the Conquest Tally, like 10 seconds after the message, and I got the quest. I had done no additional quests from the time I first put the bed in the house till the Tally. It might be a combination of having enough fame and doing it at the right time, but I know that doing it after the Tally works. Also you do not have to be in the Mog House when the tally comes because like I said I was outside it and went in 10 seconds after the Tally message. This is kind of unfortunate because the Tally may come at times that some people cannot log on, and it's only once a week. Perhaps Square should take out the timing requirement and base it on pure fame plus having the bed. Waiting for a once a week Tally seems like a pointless timesink to me. Good luck to those who are trying to get this quest.

oki, i got this when i was rank2, full bar, and lvl3 at fame (heard my name), but only ~19 completed quest.

i have the bed, a pot, a bench and a wastebasket. after the tally and after 2 hrs real time, i went back to moogle and when i click on my moogle it spawned the quest. i happily gave him the power bow and beetle ring and it says it'll return with a treasure from his home town in a few days.

i waited for 2 full days (real time, over 48days game time), and still my moogle doesn't increase the safe size, nothing happen. Totally nothing happen.

tell mi what's wrong!?
